C# - Inheriting A Base Form But Paste/Cut Commands Not Captured?

I created a base form that has a specific size and an icon as a base for all forms created in my project (to be consistent in looks). The problem is, for some reason if I add a Text box to the Child form, I can no longer execute shortcuts like Copy (CTRL+C) etc into the Textbox.
What should I do to handle this OTHER THAN writing code to capture those on the KeyUp control?
This is also the case for RichTextBox control as well.

I am trying to use the (default) Cut, Copy and Paste Commands under Edit in a MDIWindow, but it will not work. When trying to use the ActiveControl, the ActiveControl is always the ActiveForm and not the control. So it is impossible to paste for instance. The paste should go to the textbox in the form and not to the form itself. I have tried this code under the Paste command:

I am attempting to create a rudimentary text editor with buttons that can implement the Cut, Copy and Paste commands. I was able to use buttons on a toolbar and menu to implement the Cut, Copy and Paste commands using the "Command="Cut"" command in the XAML of the buttons on the toolbar and menu but have been unsuccessful in using regular buttons to implement the commands. When I attempted to use the "Command="Cut"" command for regular buttons the buttons appear disabled when debugging the application. Does anyone know if the Cut, Copy and Paste commands are disabled for regular buttons?

On a word document I would like to populate same data captured via User Form on multiple locations of a document... i.e. LastName I would like to appear on salutation paragraph and also in the body of the letter... I used REF LastName on the document when using VBA but it seems the same document when it is being populated via a VB application this skim does not work and instead "Error! Reference source not found." appears where ever the REF LastName has been used..

So I was wondering if anyone has done their own Forms (inheriting windows form and editing the properties) and if so, what your finished result was. And, if you are willing to post a screenshot of your finished result, that would be sweet! Trying to get some ideas of what can be accomplished with customizing the default form.

What is the best way to resize & move a form using just VB commands? I have a form that I need to set the Height and Top props, problem is that takes two calls and there is a noticable flicker. I tried using SuspendLayout/ResumeLayout, DoubleBuffered, swaping the top and height calls around, etc, but nothing seems to help. The test forms only have one small listview and one or two buttons. I have created a program where I capture image and ask user to answer question upon the image they see. The details about a captured image will be shown in listview. I'm having trouble trying to find the best method to do what I'm needing.
I'm thinking of using a regular expression to read a .txt file and parse out the MAC id information that will be in the text file. I was wondering if there was an easier way to do it or what the best way to do this is.

macID = d{1, 4}.d{1, 4}.d{1, 4}
totalMacInfo = all the macs in the text file?
If you guys have an alternative solution or a good way to write out the code I am open to suggestions. Not exactly sure how best to mix the expression into reading a txt file to get the data i need.

I want to add a MDI parent form to a panel on a base form, the problem is that i must set the toplevel = false when add the parent form to the base form, but if i set its toplevel to false i can't set isMDIParent parameter to true. how can i fix this conflict?

I have a small copy/paste type of program. You put text in the boxes, click copy and it copies it to the clipboard. I have a text file attached to format the text when it is copied. what I want to accomplish is...If I don't fill in every single textbox with text, I don't want that particular field to show when I paste it. Example, I have the layout like below on the text document.
textbox1.
textbox2.
textbox3.
No matter what, when I click copy, the text document is going to copy textbox1,2,and 3. If I only put text in textbox 1 and 3, I don't want it to copy textbox2 if its empty.

When reading from a network stream using the following [code] I tend to get the data in two or more chunks, unless I specify a delay after each buffer read (which is hardly desirable). It is usually a problem with 4k+ buffers written (in one large chunk and 'flushed') to the networkstream and read in smaller chunks (of say 1k).This is seriously problematic for the rest of the code, since the information is broken up in bits and not properly handled.Is there a way to ensure that all data available is 'captured' without using unrealisticly large buffers or using delays?

I wonder if I can remove all added event handlers in all the child forms from the one base form in the Closing method. (VB.NET; .NET 2.0)Background: In a project I analyze a memory problem. I verified with the memory profile (see related question) and find out that some forms are not collected by the GC, probably because of the EventHandler non-removed references.
In the project all the forms inherits from the BaseForm. Now I search I way to remove in the OnClosed method foreach Control all the EventHandlers to/from the ChildForms.

I have a an inherited form that has a panel control on it. I want to paste other controls onto this panel but the paste option is grayed out and won't let me do it. I made sure that the template form did not lock the panel. I'm stymied from making progress until I can get this resolved.

I have a webbrowser control which I have created a contextmenu for. I have added a paste button and do docbrowser.body.inner.body = clipboard.gettext. The problem with this is when I copy text from a word document and paste it I loose all the formatting. If I remove my context menu and use the default and paste I keep my formatting.

I'm working on a simple base form in which all the other forms in the project will inherit.This base form only adds 5 properties (at the moment) dealing with painting a gradient background. The problem I'm facing right now is when I change a property on Form1 (the test form) and click run it doesn't show that change. I also checked the .designer.vb file and when I make a change it's not added to the code behind file, I'm at a loss right now to why

I'm developing a software that handles very specific regional standards. In one part of the country they have different standards for entering this data than they do in other parts of the country. In fact there are hundreds or thousands of possible configurations that would be best in various regions.
The solution I've come up with is to write a program that can load different control configurations with the supporting code to its main form at runtime. I do not know how to accomplish this. Would I use visual inheritance at runtime? Would I use a plugin system? I just need to potentially allow a power user to design thier own interface or to modify an existing interface to better suit thier needs.
Edit: Is there a way to define the base class of a form at runtime? Could I create user controls in a plugin and pass them in to the host program?

I am working in VB.net 2008. I have a Window application that will be used to eliminate a lot of manual copy and paste activates from one work sheet to anther. Workbook 1 (wbMatrix)Never has the same layout twice. The destination Workbook2(wbTemplateSAS)has a defined layout that remains constant. To collect the copy ranges the user pouplates the text box on the form. Only the textbox that need popualted. There are 16 total. These textbox values are then concantianted to create the range. This process is intiated with button click.
When itinated the copy and paste works but not as expected. Cell.text range paste correctly In A9, OEC range paste correctly in P9. After that it skips the next colume as it should. Then in colume R9 the error starts the a paste of the range A10:B10 form wbMatrix is pouplated in R9:S9 Then It paste accoring to the application T9. Then in U9:X9 it paste date for wbMatrix A10:D10. It paste correctly again in Z9. it has the same error agiain till the next Range. It then paste correctly in 9AD. This should be the last paste that have values entered in the textbox to create the range. But it does not finish it paste the balnce of the cells form wbMartix on wbTempateSAS.
To sumerize above

First Row =10
Last Row = 158

and last button to when choose two columns, to find duplicates values and mark different color same values. Is it possible?

Base form baseForm generate an array of childForm (3 fo them). I have one event handler in baseForm which is called when user close each childForm. The problem is that this event handler is only called when the last childForm is closed. When other childForm is closed, the event handler doesn't do anything.

I happen to have these common procedures which I want to be used in my forms and usercontrols, with the form I can put those procedures in the base form which is being inherited but I happen to have a need to use those same procedures in my usercontrols, is there a way that I can have a common base class that I can use both for my form and usercontrol? I haven't used yet a base usercontrol since my usercontrols will not look the same so I have to put those procedures in each one of them and I find it rather cumbersome.
