C# - Create Shell Styled Title Bar Buttons In .NET?

Dec 2, 2011

This is a follow-up to my earlier question Draw Custom Buttons on Windows Vista/7 Aero Titlebar.I revisited the topic quite recently and found this article which is essentially a hack to 'drawing' buttons on Aero-enabled title bar (Windows Vista & 7). What the code does is to create a transparent window over the current one and places the buttons on it, giving the impression of additional buttons on the title bar. The only problem is the buttons look like regular WinForms buttons!how do I read the windows shell style (aka theme) in order to create buttons styled just like those in the Control Box (see image)?

Custom Title Bar Buttons?

Feb 21, 2009

I found an excellent example of how to add your own buttons to the title bar of a program url...but the problem it that it seems a bit buggy and I was hoping someone else can verify this. The program was written in VS2003 (I'm pretty sure) and I am running VS2008. Can anyone test for the problem in the program in VS2003 and tell me if it's a problem with visual studio trying to convert the code to 2008 (and I think a newer .NET version) or just some shortcomings of the program? The problem I have is that the whole thing runs very laggy and moving the window around seemed to cause tearing and other re-drawing related issues.

IE 9 / Firefox Styled Tab Controls

Sep 13, 2011

Does anyone know how to draw tabs control like in IE9 or Firefox 6/7 ?I know we can draw custom tabs but that's a $!$&!&' hassle to do. I thought that since the tab controls in IE9 and Firefox are almost the same, maybe there's an easier way to do so.

VS 2008 Make A Shell Replacement For The Windows Default Shell

Aug 1, 2009

I'm going to attempt to make a shell replacement for the Windows default shell: explorer.exe. I'm not sure if its possible using Vb.Net, but I can't seem why not. My end goal is to use a custom made shell for a Windows Preinstallation Environment instead of the default command prompt. I plan to use a 3rd party program to compile the program with the .NET Framework. Otherwise, it wouldn't work because Windows PE does not support the .NET Framework.

Asp.net - Using SiteMapPath To Create A Dynamic Page Title?

Feb 18, 2011

I currently use SiteMapPath to generate a breadcrumb for my ASP.net 3.5 (vb.net) pages and it works great.

Now I am trying to figure out how I might be able to use the same control to build a dynamic page title (in the tag). I want a reverse path listed, but the SiteMapPath control includes links and bunch of styling spans. Is there any way to remove all of that, and just get a plain path with separators?

For example, Let's say we are on the "Press Releases" page inside of the "About" section of my site.

The breadcrumb shows up as:

Home > About > Press Releases

I want to have the page title be:

Press Releases - About - Company Name

So I need it to reverse the order, drop all spans, links and styling (since this is inside the tag) and drop the root node "Home" and then add the company name to the end. Since my menu nav and breadrumbs are all driven from the sitemap file, I thought it would make sense to try to make the title do the same.

Resolution And Buttons - Tabs, Inside Each Tab There Are Buttons (the User Can Add The Buttons When They Want)

Mar 3, 2012

I have a piece of software with two tabs, inside each tab there are buttons (the user can add the buttons when they want). when tab1 is full tab2 should start to fill. I currently know how many buttons fit on the screen so I just say something like if buttons > 150 then start to populate tab 2 The problem i have now though is if the resolution is changed then a different amount of buttons can be displayed. so if I put my screen to 1280x720 some buttons are left of. I was thinking of detecting the resolution and then using different cases for different resolutions but this seems very inefficient im wondering if there is a different way?

Create A Form With The Webbrowser Control And Two Buttons ?

Mar 20, 2009

I'm using Visual Studio 2005, net framework 2.0, Microsoft Internet Explorer ver 7.0.5730.13. Create a form with the webbrowser control and two buttons. Use the code that i provided at the end of this question to understand the scenario. As far as i know, this behaviour happens only on the myspace.com web site. 1. Navigate to your myspace.com inbox page, read a message and click on the reply button to reply to the message. The page will show correctly in the web browser.2. Then click on Button1, repeat the same process (read a message in the myspace.com inbox, click on the reply button), and the textboxes where you have to enter your reply will be gone.3. Then click on Button2, repeat the same process, and the page will show correctly in the web browser.4. Then comment out or remove the oDoc_MouseDown event, click on Button1, repeat the same process, and the page will show correctly. Why does the page shows correctly when the oDoc_MouseDown event is removed? The same behaviour happens if you use any other event of the oDoc variable.I desperately need the page on myspace to be shown correctly with the oDoc_MouseDown event and other events of the oDoc variable. Please provide a solution to this

problem.RegardsPublic Class Form1 Private WithEvents oDoc As HtmlDocument Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load wb.Navigate(" ") End Sub Private Sub Button1_Click(
