i have a listbox that contains the words "week1", "week2",all the way up to "week52" and when i select a week from the listbox it will retrieve a value from a mysql database that will represent a progress bar value. my progress bar has a range of 0-120 and i would like to have all the weeks that have values higher than 100 to be highlighted or marked somehow, in the listbox. so my question is, "is there a way to set the background color of certain weeks in the listbox to orange based on the value that they represent on the database?
for example for "week1", the value is 114, so when the listbox loads, i want the background color of the item "week1" in the list to be orange (indicating that it's current value is higher than 100)? i know that this requires me to implement a user defined drawing function for the listbox items but i dont know where i would even start. i would like this to be somewhat automatic so that it checks the values and changes the background colors of any value higher than 100, instead of me specifying a name of the item.
I need to render a datagrid with different kinds of cells in the same column. For example, I have a datagrid with a column "name" and a colmun "value". Depending on the "type" of my record, I would have different cells in the column "value" like a combobox or a simple textfield. and I don't really see how to do that programmatically... I have a DataGridView binded to a DataSet that I created using the Visual Studio Data Source Configuration Wizard. Everything works good except for one problem.I have two columns, Modified_By and Date_Modified that should be inserted or updated as the user and the current date, respectively. So every row in the DataGridView should have the same value for these two columns.So far, I have thought of two ways to get this working, but neither one seems very clean. I am a newbie in VB.net(programming). I need your advice regarding Gridview control.
I have a gridview loaded with two columns-one column(Name)is with some Text,another(Price) is empty.
I have got a TextBox with the data of Name and Price.
Now,I would like to loop through the Textbox,and see if the Data/symbols of the Column(Name) of GridView Control matches with the Data in Textbox.
If the Names of the GridVies First Columns data matches with the names of the Textbox,then the Price data should be fetched in the Second Column(Price) of GridView.[code]...
The problem is my first' row cells values are their owner's column header text.

The code below updates all cells in a DataGridView column to a value from a textbox. This code works in that all cells in the desired column are updated on screen. The DGC is bound to a dataset. The problem is that when I call the dataset .Update method, sometimes the first row (row 0) does not get updated. I have run SQL profiler and can see that no SQL update command is submitted for the first row. The first row only gets skipped the first time the update is run after launching the app. Subsequent updates run for all rows, until the app is re-launched.
I have verified the row state is Unchanged with: Msgbox(DataGridView1.Rows(r).State.ToString).
The 2 commented lines below are other things I have tried that still cause the first row to be skipped.

I have a DataGridView with SelectionMode = "CellSelect". I do this because I want the user to be able to click the Column Header and drag the column to a different DisplayIndex. They move the column by clicking and holding down the left mouse button, then moving the column. I also want the user to be able to click the column header and all the cells in the column would be selected. But if I change the SelectionMode property to "FullColumnSelect" or "ColumnHeaderSelect" the user can no longer move the column.In the code below, I can select all the cells in the DataGridView just fine, but I can't select all cells in a particular Column or Row. View 1 RepliesI am trying to create a form that will update a database of school tests with checkboxs.Basically, i have a textbox for a student id, a combobox with the subjects in it, and a datagridview with the tests of the selected subject.(There are about ten subects with about ten tests each).What i want to happen is when you put in an id number, it should bring up all the tests the student passed in each subject in the datagridview. So when you select a subject it will load the datagridview with the tests (in a checkbox format) (with the tests he already passed checked) so you can click and add tests and then save it to the db.

I'm trying to dynamically create a listview. on reports.aspx user selects a bunch of checkboxes. On the next page, user sees reports.aspx, and should see a table with columns of the checkboxes he selected. My idea was to create a listview, then dynamically change the header row of the LayoutTemplate, then change the select statement depending on which columns selected. This is what I have:

Problem is that this doesn't work because i can't put a code block (<%%>) inside the LayoutTemplate. Is there a way in the code behind to edit the LayoutTemplate, or another way to cycle through the Request.Form vars and build the table header row with it?

To change this setting:
1. select the datagrid view tasks
2. Edit columns bound column properties
3. Select Width property
4. Width property will always revert back to the original setting.
I have check the properties settings without any luck.
