I have two comboboxes. The data sorce of combobox1 is a list of string that is fixed.Combobox2's data sorce will be a list of string that depends on the selection of combobox1. This is very similar to a common case as follows: first enter your contry, then depending on your enter, the second combobox will show you the list of universities in the country.
'Change selection of first combobox
Private Sub cbxClient_SelectedIndexChanged(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles cbxClient.SelectedIndexChanged
I'm currently coding an ATM system in VB, and when a user picks a card to 'log on' with, they have 3 attempts to log on before the card is confiscated.
The card numbers are in a combobox (which are retreived from an SQL database using the binding source which is linked to a data adapter), and each card has a boolean 'confiscated' field in the database.
It does actually set the card to confiscated after the 3 tries, however I'd like the form to 'refresh' so the card no longer appears in the combobox, without having to close down the form and reload it. Is there a way to do this? I've tried refreshing the combobox and data adapter (.Refresh) but this does nothing
How to setup a datagridview to display data based on a combobox value, then query the data on that value to display the results in a datagridview. This is what i have so far but i'm sure the is a better way of doing it. the current code doesn't work. [code]...
I have a two forms with about 25 bound controls on each in the same solution. All of the data for both forms is in the same SQL table. I need to filter the data and only get the data appropriate to the called form. I consulted an University VB professor and he would only say "it won't be easy".
I tried removing all of the bindings and rebinding them to the new datasource but there were still some remnants (probably from the navigator) that proved illusive.
Is the only solution to recreate the VB forms and bind them to the new datasource?

I want to change the source data for my pivot table in Excel using VB.Net to a named range.
I have : table.ChangePivotCache(wb.PivotCaches.Create(SourceType:=Excel.XlPivotTableSourceType.xlDatabase, SourceData:=sheet.Names("name_of_NamedRange").RefersToRange))
Exception : The parameter is incorrect. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070057 (E_INVALIDARG))
I'm using a MS Access 2007 database. I modified the field definition of one of the fields in a table, it a text field and I change the maximum length from 40 to 150. I have a data source in my app that contains this table and many others. I refreshed the data source but the change didn't take affect. I went through configure option but the change still didn't take affect. It gives me this error, The value violates the MaxLength limit of this column. If I add/delete a database field the data source is updated when I go through the configure process. I finally just deleted the table from my data source and then added it back.
I have a project where I added visually and successfully a datasource of MySql. I binded a datagridview with a table.
But, how do I change programatically the password, ip or user to connect with the MySql server? Because it can change at any time, so I can let the user change these values.
Is there a way to update source combobox to printer combobox selection? So going from printer1 to printer2 the source will update according to what that printer has to offer.

I refreshed my data sources to include additional items from the SQL Server databases and it appears that my entire data source from my VB.NET project disappeared.I am using Entity Framework. I may have clicked on something wrong, not quite sure. Unfortunately I can't recreate the Data Source without creating a new Entity and Data Model.I can delete the entry in the App.Config file and recreated it, however things aren't quite right. Is there a way that I can recreate my Data Source from the entry that is in my App.Config file...since that appears to have remained intact.BTW, I can go to my Data Model and successfully refresh from there, however my project isn't connecting to the database so I have quite a number of errors until I can get reconnected.
I am new to vb.net and I am using visual studio 2010. I have two comboboxes on a form, each combobox is set to DropDownList so that a list of items can show in the combobox, but no text is allowed to be entered.
For combobox A, if user chooses item 1, the list of combobox B should be updated accordingly. I think this is quite common on a lot of applications. But I do not know to implement it. I even do not know the keyword to search for the relevant property or event handler.
How to know HTML source change or not change because this web site written ASP.net and information is changing in TABLE tags when pressed button.I'm not reading when change the TABLE tags.

I've got a function that's supposed to extract and return a 32x32px bitmap from a larger bitmap which has a set of 32x32 tiles inside it.
Here's the code I have now, but it's wrong since the Tile.GFX_Pos properties are telling it where in the destination image to draw, not where in the source image to draw from.
Overloads Shared Function TileGFX(ByVal SrcGFX As Bitmap, ByVal Tile As TileDef) As System.Drawing.Bitmap Try
[Code]....
So since this doesn't work, what I'm wondering is if anyone knows a good way to select where in the SrcGFX bitmap to blit from, instead of (as currently and incorrectly) selecting where in the destination bitmap to blit to.
I have a WPF 4 and VB.net 2010 project. I am playing videos in a single mediaelement. This is what I need to do:When the window first opens, I have the first video play just fine. However, it is after this video plays that I run into trouble figuring out how to do the following.I need the video source to change immediately following a single play through of any video, and I need this video (henceforth referred to as an "ambient" video) to loop forever. When a certain event happens, I need to change the video source again, have it play once through, and then go back to looping ambient video in step 1.Here is the rub, however. Many of the video triggers are inside of If-Then or Select Case statements in code behind, so I'm not exclusively using simple WPF events such as "MouseUp" or "MouseEnter".Also, all videos must play in the same mediaelement, for performance reasons.
