Create New Rows In The Database?

I have a list view which is populated with an MSACCESS database using ADO. I know how to import data from the database, and I know how to create new rows in the database. However, is it possible to save the contents of the listview to the databaes? Here's my code so far:
Adding A Row:

I have a form that i want to be saved to my database. The form is adding a new record to my sql server 2005 database but it is not bringing the text over with it. how to create a conditional statement if the value of rows is zero or not.I want my output to something like... IF the value is zero, an sms message will be sent to the client that he is not registered ELSE an sms message will be sent containing his new autogeneration code. Been working on this for a month but i have no luck.

I have a data bound datagridview on my form. I need the datagridview to sort by oldest date, and then return only the 150 oldest. The goal is to export the 150 rows with the oldest date to a .csv file and then update the date column to the current date for only those 150.
Here is what I have so far:

I can get it filter by the column "status" and then sort by "datelastemailed". I can also get it to export only those 150 to the .csv file. My issue is that I need only those 150 to have their date column updated to today's date and then saved to the database. The only way I can see to get that done is to set a max number of rows for my databound datagridview and then loop through each row in the date column. How I can create a filter that limits results?

I need to build an interface that allows the user to select a horse from a list. The horses are as follows: horse1, horse2, horse3 and horse4. The application should display the way the horse places with a 1 means the horse won, 2 indicates second place , 3 indicates third and 0 indicates the horse did not place. Application needs to display a summary of each horse's individual performance as well as the performances of the other horses. Table for keeping track of each horse is as follows:

I have the following function that returns only the 1st row of data and puts it in a nice table. My knowledge in this area is limited in that I don't know how to create the table to return multiple rows. Can you show me how to change this to return all rows, no matter how many there are? my sql select statement may return 0 rows or many rows.

I'm saving data to a database, data from a listbox and checkboxes.In the listbox, on the form, there are 20 records and then there are 20 corresponding checkboxes.I need to save all 20 records to the database so really I need 20 new rows. What I have managed to get working so far is that it will save the last record only.Here is the code that works:

I have a student database in ms-access format with 3 tables
1) class ( classid, classname)
2) subjects ( subjectid, classid, subjectname)
3) students (studentid, classid, studentname)
now i want to create a form to enter exam marks for the students in the following manner:

I am using a tableadapter to connect my project to an MS database. I need a a function which counts the number of rows in the table for something which I am doing. I have sucessfully used the count function to count the number of rows for my other tables, but when I tried to reuse it for another table, it wouldn't work. I get an error...
An unhandled exception of type 'System.ArgumentException' occurred in System.Data.dllAdditional information: Input string was not in a correct format.Couldn't store <AH25> in ProductCode Column. Expected type is Int32.
and this is the code which I used

It only seems to work if the first column is an integer datatype, which is the case for my other tables, but the table which I am currently dealing with using a string datatype. Is there another way to count the number of rows without using SQL statements or can I adapt my existing code in some way?

I'm fairly new to VB.net and WPF (and programming in general), so please bear with me. I'm attempting to write a useful database app for my business as a learning project. I did a draft in WinForms, referring to the (very good) Murach book, but am now trying to re-write it with a WPF UI and cleaner code.
I think I understand the basics of WPF binding, but am tearing my hair out trying to find a simple way of binding to parent details - which I would have thought was a very basic scenario, but I can't find anything on it. For example, let's say I havea 'Customers' table with CustomerID, Name, various contact details and then foreign keys CityID and GroupID;

And then just moving to the first record (as there will only be one). Is this a normal method of looking up a customer? I could also use this method by getting the foreign keys from my customer row and filling the different tables in the dataset all using parameterised queries, then just binding to each table separately - but again, seems very messy.

I am currently having trouble detecting the number of rows in the table in sql database. I have one column as auto increment, and one column that will show the blkname. But everytime I delete off one row, the program cannot run saying that there is no row at position "up to the latest number". Then, when I try to insert back the row again, the program also gives me the same error. I think the program probably cannot detect the number of rows correctly as it cannot like detect if there is 5 rows in the database and if you delete one row, it will give me the error. The above method is the same if I used the auto increament column and without.

My problem is probably ignorance as to how the DGV works, anyway, the problem.I have a bound datagridview which is used to collect user input. Data for 3 of the 7 fields is entered by looping through the rows and progmatically entering common data anfter a 'Save' Button is pressed:

I have a live database and an Archive database. I want to do a selct on the live and basically create a new row in the archive database table and insert all the columns then delete the row from the live. Here is the code that creates and deletes:-

Each user will have a unique ID, and so I want that that datagridview would only display the rows, which are for him, well have his ID, so that he couldn't see other users information, but only the one associated with him.I also need to output that user's forename and surename into label, it is stored in the database.

in my program i am populating a datatable and then bulkcopying it into my database.however, i want it to overwrite a row in the database if 3 of the columns in the the row match. [code] so if the membernum, dateregistered and name match i want to overwrite the row.with the data from the bulk insert. in my program the entire database table is not populated and i think its to big to load it. [code] if the best method is to create a datatable with my database table how would i compare the rows and then overwrite the tables where there are matches in the particular 3 columns. and then update the database with only the rows that have either changed or the new ones.
