create a simple control. The control have 1 label and 2 panels with images. The control needs to be clicked, the problem is i can create the click action for the control, i can only use internal click events. how to use it out of the control.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create a simple user tracking system so whoever has the program open can see who else has the program open. I know how to retrieve the username and everything. What I was doing was updating (loading and saving) a listbox with a text file on the network with the usernames in it. I can't get it to work right and I think its because the simultaneous opening and saving of the same text file by multiple users. I know this isn't technically the best way to go about doing this but it seemed like it should be the easiest. I don't want to make a huge project out of this because it isn't that important, it would just be nice.
View 7 RepliesI have a vb.net application that uses Flash movies (AxShockwaveFlashObjects.AxShockwaveFlash). I have buttons in the flash movie. When they first start using the application, they can single click on the buttons in the flash movie and button responds accordingly. But after a while (and I haven't been able to pin-point an exact thing that changes it or my issue would be solved), the user has to double-click on the button in the flash movie for them to work.

When added to a form, I'm trying to loop through all control of this type and evaluate the custom property. In the below, the cntl.MyCustomProperty is not recognized. I can evaluate the property when I check each user control on the form by name, but not by using the loop below. I would much rather use the loop as it is much cleaner.

I want to create a calendar control to display employees vacation schedules for the year. It could be either monthly or scrolling weekly. It will draw its data from Access. I'm just looking for some general input on how some others might accomplish this. I know there are some paid options but my boss said I am on a $0 budget. A couple of ideas I had are:
1. Make a monthly view comprised of labels and textboxes for the actual dates. Populate the texboxes with a series of sql statements
2. Use a datagridview bound to a crosstab query, but I don't know how to have the datagridview show one week after the other.

The user navigates to a web page, hits a button, and then every minute the web browser automatically refreshes, gets the page length, and alerts if the page length has changed by more than 100 chars.Unfortunately, I am noticing that VB uses the cached version of the page when it refreshes (I am using WebBrowser.Refresh, but have also tried using WebBrowser.Navigate(same page as before)). Is there any way that I can delete just that page in the cache without clearing the whole thing from my application before it reloads and calculates the new page length?
View 2 RepliesBasically, i don't want to use <input type="submit"> mainly because it's a button, i'd rather user ActionLink, so i am using Ajax.ActionLink, and i'm not sure what to place in the routeValues argument for it to pickup the new (edited) data (user enters comments etc) and send it to my action.this is what i have, but of course, it sends the original comment before user edit back to the server/action :)

What i wanna do is to create a textbox (inherits from textbox) with additional one property called MDIStatusInformation which is used to display a tooltip text in a status bar at main MDI form.
When i use this tag <Browsable(True)> _, the control property not list anything there.
Why is it that when I close the application that I've made, it is still seen as running in the background in task manager? I open my forms using the .show() method, and when I need to close them programmatically, I use .dispose().

When I click on the control on the form it does nothing none of the code for this event gets triggered. If I click on the listbox inside the user control that .click event inside the control does trigger. How can I make the click event for the user control trigger when the control is clicked?
I am looking to create a simple password box that will ask the user for a username and pass, if the user is validated against the usernames and passwords in an .ini file the login box will close and launch a program also stated in the .ini file. View 16 RepliesI have created a custom logonui.exe in VB.NET and I know how to make it replace the existing logonui.exe, but I am having trouble with the functions, such as shutdown, restart and log in. I don't need to get the list of users, because there is only one user account on the system and it is not password protected. I just need it to log in to the account when the user clicks a button and to be able to shutdown when the user clicks a different button.

I have a User Control. In this user control I have a Repeater. In this repeater I have again a User Control. If I try to catch the click event of an ImageButton in this user control, I'm gettin nothing because the event has not been fired. Is there a way to catch this event?

I have created several WPF User Controls. The lowest level item is 'PostItNote.xaml'. Next, I have a 'NotesGroup.xaml' file that has an ItemsControl bound to a List of PostItNotes. Above that, I have a 'ProgrammerControl.xaml' file. Each ProgrammerControl has a grid with four different NotesGroup user controls on it (and each NotesGroup contains 0-many PostItNotes.
Then, I have my main window. It also has an ItemsControl, bound to a list of Programmers.
So, you end up with a high level visual view of a list of programmers, each programmer has four groups of tickets, each group of tickets has many PostItNotes.
The trouble I'm having, is that I want to respond to a mouse click event in my mainWindow's code behind file.
I can add a MouseClick event into my PostItNote.xaml.vb file and that is getting called when the user clicks a PostItNote, and I can re-raise the event; but I can't seem to get the NotesGroup to listen for that event. I'm not sure if that's even the correct approach.
When the user clicks the PostItNote, I'm going to do a bunch of business-logic type stuff that the PostItNote control doesn't have a reference to/doesn't know about it.
