I have created my own web browser in VB 2008, it is a tab controlled web browser. My question is, How can i put a web page's header, example Google, on top of my web browser(where the close button, minimize, maximize are)?Is there a special code? I've just finished making a web browser suited for my personal use, but when I click on a new link or something it opens a new window in Internet Explorer - which gets extremely anoying.. Is there a way to make all links open up in a custom browser?

I would also like to use an commands to automatically login. But I am not sure how I could do that in a tabbed browser either. Webbrowser1.document.getelementbyid does not work for this.

View 2 RepliesI'm making an MDI child window switcher (to set focus on selected child) sort of in a windows-style taskbar at the bottom of the program. I've got things set up so that when a child window is opened, a toolstripbutton is created and added onto the toolstrip and contains the window number and window type (what the window does). All that runs very well, but when I want to close a child form, I need to dispose the button that corresponded to it. I tried something like this:

Small question, Is there any way to find out who did start the procces?Because im needing a check for a procces, but if user1 and user2 are logged in, the app running on user1, and user2 running the procces that i want to find, it still sees it as running..nd i detect and kill thats forced? like end procces.?To explain, Im making an sort of "safe" env. for my lil bro and his friends, so they can have administrator rights for the games and such, but still cant do the things ive limited and logging the changes on the disk etc. so nothing "strange" is going on in there.

View 5 RepliesFor school and other reasons, i am making an application in which the user can draw tile based backgrounds, to then turn into long line of code , i think called CSV , which can then be used in programs such as flash, to draw a tile based background. I am currently making a flash game, and dont really like the other tile array making programs out there.
For instance, code such as [1,0,1],[0,1,0],[1,0,1] with the correct code would generate a 3x3 tile background with an X shape.Anyway, at the moment i am currently stuck.I have code up and running which generates a 2 dimensional background out of pictureboxes randomly, however thats as far as i got, i dont know how to access the pictureboxes created.
What i have right now is two variables, gridX and gridY, which determine the amount of tiles placed in a for loop. These variables would be used to determine the size of multidimensional arrays that store the tile data, and determine the map size.i intended each image to be clickable, so that its picture would change from black to white when clicked
When clicked, the tile would switch between two images, to represent two different tiles. at the same time, a value in an array created with the tile, would change from 1 to 0.Then when its time to make the code, i simply use a for loop to spit out the array in the way i want.
I understand that i could perhaps create a class for the pictureboxes, but i dont know how to, since ive never dealt with them, and i dont understand any of the guides and tuts.how to use a class so that i could add and change the properties of multiple dynamically created pictureboxes, but also change the value of an array created with the picturebox, when clicked?
i need all of this to be done however without adding or including any additional libraries or anything to visual basic as it will be graded on school computers.
When I try to access the controls of a form which is not yet created (i.e. to modify the contents of a text box , to press a button etc) , I fail , usually without even an error message . I found out that the only way to make my program go right is to take care that the form is first created before I try to access anything on that form . However this means I must use the Show method to create it and then to Hide it , which leads to an instant awful optical effect . I remember back in VB6 there wasn't such a problem ; it seems that in VB6 each time I accessed a control on a not-created form led to the form being created silently . Is there any way I could do that in .NET too in order to access my precious controls ?

View 1 RepliesI have a datatable that was created with the dataset designer. I have it bound to my datagridview. All the columns are set up the way I want, etc. I am performing a SQL operation at runtime, so I can create SQL statements dynamically rather than creating them with the designer. When I try to fill the existing datatable, I get no results. There is no error, but the data i should be seeing in the DGV is not there. However, if I fill a dataset that is created in code at runtime, and then set table(0) of that dataset as the DGV's datasource, the data displays as it should.
