On top of that it should look like a table and have gridlines between the 'cells' containing the picture/data, which makes it even more difficult for me. Before, control arrays were quite simple in VB6, but I've been searching for 1,5 hours now and I can't figure out how to do this in VB.NET 2010. Any idea how to tackle this the most efficiently?
[URL]..And put into a dynamic array where each month represents a record in the array with 3 given with C/P, Strike and Settle
The criterion is for every month grab all C/P that have matching strikes thus returning the following for every month. See data below and what I would like to return below. Want to use excel VBA to return the values from array into a sheet in excel. See data below
I have a SQL database which I'm running a query against to return a list of names - eg using "select names from table"I would like to add all of these names to an array so I can use them later. To do this I would need to use a dynamic array as the number of names returned could be anything.Apart from first running "select count(names) from table", getting a value and then Redim'ing the array on the count is there another method I can use.I've seen there's a dataset row.count? Can I somehow use this?
connection.Open() reader = command.ExecuteReader() While reader.Read()
I am looking at creating a Dynamic Menustrip.I have managed to write the code to add subItems to a Item. The root item is called item1 and when the form is run, item1 gets populated by items called subItem[0-5].I am wondering how do I assign an action to a subItem when click? At the moment I want a message box to popup with the subItem's name that has been clicked. I.E If subItem3 is clicked, I want a msgbox to pop up with "subItem3".
code
Private Sub Form1_Load(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load For j As Integer = 0 To 4 Dim subItem As String = String.Format("subItem{0}", j.ToString())
I'm trying to create an array of checkboxes dynamically and also want to put event to those checkboxes. For example: I have a array of checkboxes - Chk1, Chk2. I want it to work this way: When I check Chk1, I want to disable Chk2, and when Chk1 is unchecked, Chk2 is enable, and vice versa.
I am trying to display ImageButtons dynamically, which I have been able to do. I also want an event to fire when I click on those dynamic ImageButtons. I have the dynamic controls loaded in an ArrayList. I am able to have an event fire for all of the dynamic ImageButtons in the ArrayList except the first ImageButton in the ArrayList. Here is my code below (I tried to include only the relevant code):[code]
Recently I have learned visual basic 2008 express edition and developed programs for data crunching and analysis. The VB 2008 express edition has microsoft visual studio 2008 v. 9.0.30729.1 SP and .NET Framework version 3.5 SP1. Now I want to create x-Y (date-Y value) graphs using the crunched data stored in an array list simulating a data base access. I download and installed the "Microsoft Chart Control for .NET Framework " and try to learn to use it within the VB 2008 express edition using the tutorial. It seems that the chart control did not get installed?
1. Do I need at VB 2008 professional to allow using the chart control? 2. Why after installing chart control, there is no change on the items under the NET components within the Toolbox>ChooseItem>. 3. How do I get to use the chart control under VB 2008 express edition. 4. Any code available to generate versatile graphics without using the chart control? Because the chart control has tons of classes already it seems the best is to just use the existing and downloadable chart control?
I have a bit of a problem creating a user control at the moment. I'm creating it within my current project via the 'Project> Add User Control' menu item. The problem is that when I create the control, run a build and add it to my form the controls within the custom user control are about one and a half times the size they should be.
I figured it out. Check out the finished control [URL]..I'm trying to make myself a simple 'star rating' control.
It would have the properties: StarCount (number of stars) StarValue (number of stars highlighted)
I want to draw the stars using GDI+, have them highlight on mouse over, and change the StarValue when clicked.I have an idea on how to do this from experience with working with forms, but I'm having some difficulties with the Control development part. I couldn't find any tutorials which didn't inherit a control (such as a checkbox or button), and I have no idea how to make my control editable in the designer.
I think what I need to do is create StarCount as a property like this:
[Code]...
I also want to execute my drawing code at design time, so I can see the stars while laying out a form. as a side note to that, I don't know how to change the size of the control at run or design time, nor how to disable the user from changing it at design time.as a side note - I know that there are a few star rate controls already floating around the internet, but I do not like the quality of them (or at least the one's I've seen), they felt very windows 98. I'm trying to make something that will fit well into windows 7 (plus I want to implement custom images, but that can wait until I get it working)
At design-time, when one clicks a control it is selected and this state is depicted with a frame drawn around the control. I would like to know how can I mimic the same effect at runtime; that is, how can I draw a similar frame around a control when the user clicks over it?
Basically i have one TabControl with a form and 2 browsers within one form I have ProBlem To call the dynamic browser to navigate with dynamic Textbox.text
i recently received a new work pc and have installed visual studio 2010 premium on it. this was installed on my old machine as well, the only differece between the two PCs being my old one was 32bit and the new one is 64bit.With that said, when i create a windows form project and drop a control on a form, double click that control, the default event code is created for me.It is missing the "ByVal" portion of the code. Using a textbox as an example, below is the code it generates. Is there a setting that I'm just missing and need to turn on? I've been using visual studio since version 2005 and i've never seen this before.
Private Sub TextBox1_TextChanged(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles TextBox1.TextChanged End Sub
I am loading forms into a TabControl creating a new tab page each time the form is loaded. ** I would like to point out that I am using UC instead of a from**
Now, I can easily have many tabs with the same form loaded. On the form I have a 'Search Button' So my question is, after clicking the search button how can I tell which instance of the form the 'Search Button' was clicked? Hope this makes sense
In one program i'm making, I have a little problem. In this application I have 25 button, wich I must have enable or disable everytime. How can I sned a part of name of the button? For example, if I have one array with the values:[bt1, bt2, bt3, bt4, bt5....] witch is the name of each control. Is possible someting similar this? :
I have a VB.Net WinForm Program. I dynamically create panels with controls. Each panel has:
2 Labels 1 DataGridView 1 Button
Everything works fine the first time I create the panels.
Everything gets created, and everything is functional.
If I have to re-create the form, I get rid of the existing panels (and their controls) with this code:
[Code]...
When I re-create the panels, I get the panels and all of their controls except Buttons. When I step through the debugger, I see the buttons being removed, and I see them being created, but they don't appear in the panel
i want to create a modalpopup dynamically but i come across a problem.I pasted my sub here and i dont know what to do for that problem. When i want to show modalpopup,it says "Control 'mdldelete2' of type 'ModalPopupExtender' must be placed inside a form tag with runat=server."
Public Sub Raise_Alarm(ByRef p_Page As Page, ByRef p_AssignedButton As System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button, ByVal p_Message As String)
I am trying to access VB.Net exe on a client system through LAN.Its working fine for server with static IP address. In case I try to access it with server having dynamic IP address, It doesn't provide access(config file containing server name).
What im trying to accomplish is I have a table which im creating dynamically and I want in the first tablecell a radiobutton, second tablecell first name, third tablecell last name. The second and third tablecell work fine but having trouble with the radiobutton. Im making it a radiobutton list b/c only one name should be selectable. Below is how im creating the radiobutton list. I have omitted the second and third tablecell as its working properly. The yesNo variable is used to say i
tblrow = New TableHeaderRow tblcell = New TableCell If yesNo = "yes" Then
heres my code i have it set up so when i press spacebar it should create and display a picture box my help is two parts one why is the picture box not displaying and how to i set it so that every time the space bar is pressed a picture box is created. The second part to that is how do i create a timer with that picture box that makes it move, i know how to make a picturebox move im just not sure how to do the for each statement to set a dynamic name and how to use the timer to affect it...
Private Sub Form1_KeyDown(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs) Handles MyBase.KeyDown ' Sets Handled to true to prevent other controls from
I am writing an application that requires button controls to be created at run time because the amoutn of controls created depends on data retrieved from a database.
I believe I am creating the control properly but I am not capturing the click event.
Code example:
Dim myButton As Button myButton = New Button myButton.id = "id"
So I have a 2D array of data, specifically, one "Cv" value for every 10% increment. I have been able to get the Cv's plotted vs % open with the following method:
Private Sub btnPlot_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnPlot.Click Dim tempString As String
[Code]....
I haven't yet looked into this, but if there's any way to also export this graph as an image into an excel spreadsheet, We will be creating several spec sheets as excel workbooks and we will need to be outputting standardized sheets, which is why I'm trying to make this an application instead of directly implementing the code in Excel with VBA.
