I have written an application that creates an mhtml file based on information in cache. The MHTML file can be opened in Opera but not Internet explorer. I have attatched an example of an MHTML file(saved as .txt) i have created. Does anybody know what im missing? Why wont it open in IE?

I have an application I am creating that displays pump information based on customers in a database. I am using VB2008 .NET3.5.I have a combobox that has a selection for a unit of measure. What I want to happen is when that is changes the labels that have a unit of measure change to reflect the change. There are 15 labels total that need to be changed and all there names are the only ones in the project that start with a X if that helps at all.
I would like to avoid creating a bunch of labels and changing the visible property and just change the text value of each one. I have just started learning VB.NET

this works fine to trap out numbers from letters but the problem i am getting is when the program calls uppon LastName it is recording 0 and wanted to know if there is a way of getting past this ..... so basically i need a way to allow letter but not numbers and symbols and then dispay a pernolised error message but at the same time use Stream writer to save was the answer is in a .txt file.
Is there a way to read an image pixle by pixle and create a text file based in the information.Lets assume we are reading each pixle from left to right. I have a fair bit of experience with VB.NET and C# (In this case I chose VB.NET, blame my laziness), but I do most of my professional work using PHP. I have no experience what so ever in using any database with VB.NET let alone MySQL.Just FYI, at the moment I am only trying to Query the database to gather the information required to activate. The Activation wizard and algorithm building (which is finished anyway), and everything else will come soon. I chose the MySQL database because I have experience with it, and it seems the best option for remote usage.The whole idea already works in PHP, I'm just have major issues moving it accross into VB.NET (Using the MySQL Connector.NET);I understand the basics, and all I need to know how to do is Count Rows and gain access to the other information in a row based on provoided information (in PHP, through mysql_ result)
So, here goes nothing, this is the Query code I am using in PHP to complete the job I want to do in VB.NET. [code] As you can see, I basically need to get the PHP code into VB.NET to fit into the 'btnQueryDB.Click' Command in VB.NET. By Equivalent, the Product ID in VB.NET will come from 'txtPID' and similar, Serial Number will come from txtSNUM. Once counted to be 1, the Activation Code and Status will be fed into 2 other text boxes in the form. (acCode, and acStatus).

I am using VB2005 and trying to put an application together.What it needs to do is retrieve information from a binary file, possibly alter that information, and put it back into a new file.The file is a .wav file with data appened to the end. There is an additional section at the end of the .wav file which stores xml data.I have found that if I open this in a hex editor and make a 1:1 swap on any of the bytes that the application that the file is for can still read the XML.If I tried to add or remove characters from the XML then it would not read. I located a header byte and incremented it to resolve this.
This worked as an excellent bandage to do conversions where the data always needed to be changed to the same thing.What I have been asked to do is build logic that allows for different things to happen depending upon what data is contained within the file.The method that I am currently trying to impliment is:
Read through the file with a system.io.binaryreader
Searche for a bytestream that will signal data is coming
For example:

If I proceed with this method, I will have to read the file one time to gather the information and then a second time to write it all out with the header modified for length.This is my first experiene with working with binary files in this way.Also,I've been experiementing with building a string and slapping it back in at the end using the binarywriter.write(string) method.I noticed that it was putting in header characters before the string.These seem to change if I change the length of the string.At one point it was d0 07. Later it became e7 07. Does anyone know of a way to prevent this header from being inserted?
I tried a for each loop to grab all of the characters from the string, convert them to a byte array and deposit the byte array into the file, but the header remained the same. When I write the byte array generated from a system.io.binaryreader I do not get this header.

What I've done is created a windows service to poll reporting services for a "Web Archive" report (read in as a string or byte array via System.Net.WebClient) that I then want to send out to a set of people via System.Net.Mail.MailMessage.
I'm aware that reporting services has subscriptions built in, but the situation is a little more complex than that and requires a seperate program to poll the report. What I'm looking for is some sort of code sample or something that demonstrates sending MHTML as part of the body of an email using VB.NET (Or C#) ASP.NET 2.0 standard objects. If anyone could point me in the right direction or has a cut and paste that'd be great.
I want to build an application using VB, that is essentially an information system.The operation of this system would be as follows:1. User can select one of several buttons, each button being a different topic.2. When a button is selected, information about that topic appears on the right hand side of the form.3. The system allows information to be added by a user So, for example, if a user clicked on the button named 'Banana', information about the banana would appear on the form, where the user could read this info, scroll down etc.I would also like the user to be able to search a specific word like 'apple' and for information on the apple to appear.How could I implement this? I don't know how I would store paragraphs of information, and then search for it based on a keyword.

I have decided I would start small and make a program that would create a "receipt" list in a listbox and a total. Now, I would like the user to be able to add their own "menu" items. I'm assuming the best way to go about this would be to have them actually add it to a database and then a function in the program will refresh the dataset with the new list. However, this is where my problem lies. How can I tell VB .net 2010 that I want to create a new button (or buttons) on the fly, in an orderly pattern on the form, based on the input from a DB?

I am trying to create 5 Bitmaps 'on the fly' which I want to use in a ToolStrip DropDown.So far I have found a working way but I wonder if there isn't an easier way to do that?The reason why I have to create this images 'on the fly' is because users can select different colors for the Categories (which I have managed with Button(x).BackColor, so, in order to have the Menu Items shown the exact same colors I try to get a Bitmap based on the Button's back color and add it as MenuItem picture.Here is my code to create the images:

I have a SQL database which I'm running a query against to return a list of names - eg using "select names from table"I would like to add all of these names to an array so I can use them later. To do this I would need to use a dynamic array as the number of names returned could be anything.Apart from first running "select count(names) from table", getting a value and then Redim'ing the array on the count is there another method I can use.I've seen there's a dataset row.count? Can I somehow use this?

I am using Visual Studios 2005 and I am creating an application for our IT Security.Part of the program is for documents and procedures. What I am trying to do is automatically create a menu based on the folders and files. So far I have it taking into account the base folder and one subfolder level and files within it, but I want it to automatically also take into account any subfolders and files that may be added at a later date without having to replicate the code below for each new level. I currently have a subroutine that generates a file with specific parameters, and it relies on user input in 2 fields. Now I also have a numericupdown control. What I'm looking for is a way that if Numericupdown.Value = 3 then it will generate 6 textboxes and once the parameters are filled out completely it will generate subroutine times(numericupdown.value) and output it to a single file.

The value stored will end up being one of a few numbers ranging from 12 to 98, and I need to the same number of new variables as the number in the textbox.
Can I automate the creation of new variables based on the value stored, or do I need to define the max number required and just ignore the rest when using less?
I have this rather stupid litle excel issue which somehow just doesn't go away by itself;I'm creating a excel chart from three rows of information data. Each row has a header, so far so good. The first row exixt of calender data and I planned it to use them as my x-axis labeling. But somehow excel uses them as variables and changes them in to a third bar. how to write the code for my project.I am to base my new project on an existing one(existing one has code that works 100%)and create an Array of a structure that bascially holds the information from a summary form AND the totals from an AddToOrder_Click event. If you are still with me)... I cant figure out what the code is for my structure and Array so that I STILL have a Summary Form but I have an array that shows when I click my PrintPreview. So an Array is basically a "space" that holds information, like my summary form except it doesnt show until I click PrintPreview right?
If I just wanted to show the table then my code belongs in the PrintDocument1_PrintPage to show the array but the actual structure code belongs in the Click_Event of my AddToOrder? Please Please understand I AM NOT asking for anyone to write my code, basically I am asking for some clarification on what exactly creating an array from a structure is and therefore determing where the structure is to be placed in my code..
