Creating Bitmap Based On BACKCOLOR Of A Button?

I am trying to create 5 Bitmaps 'on the fly' which I want to use in a ToolStrip DropDown.So far I have found a working way but I wonder if there isn't an easier way to do that?The reason why I have to create this images 'on the fly' is because users can select different colors for the Categories (which I have managed with Button(x).BackColor, so, in order to have the Menu Items shown the exact same colors I try to get a Bitmap based on the Button's back color and add it as MenuItem picture.Here is my code to create the images:

Lets see if I can explain-I have a text box (rich text box) in a form. Inside the box, some data gets put in there- specifically insurance information.
Normally, the box doesn't need to change color to alert the user there's a problem with the text that's inside, because the information is usually good.But there are a few phrases that need to alert the user there's a problem.
For example, if the words "Not Found AS OF:" appear anywhere in the box, I need the background to show red.Or, if the words "Letter #1" appear in the box, it needs to show red. Absent of any key words, the box is normal (white).

The code below reads an Icon from an .ico file, converts the Icon read to a Bitmap and saves the bitmap using:
Bitmap.Save(PathA)
Then does:
PanelShowWrittenIconA.BackgroundImage = New Bitmap(PathA)

I have the following code: [code] and it's ment to change the backcolor of a label during runtime, which works.But when I use the same code and use it in a smart device - Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC it don't work and comes up with the following error:'ColorTranslator' is not a member of 'Drawing'.Is there a way I can change the backcolor of the label during runtime when creating a smart device application (windows Mobile application) ? I have 6 bitmaps, all the same size. Their ImageFormat is Format32bppPArgb. Sometimes when I try to resize the bitmaps I get the Out of Memory message. This doesn't happen all the time, only after about six or seven resizes.In Task Manager, the program's memory use never goes above 800k.Is there a way to resize a Bitmap without creating a new one?If I have to recreate the Bitmap, do I need to dispose the current one (or set it to Nothing)?

Is there a way in Visual Basic 2008/Framework 2.0 to create and save a 8bits bitmap(Format8bppIndexed) to a .GIF file using custom colors(about 30) instead of the standard web colors?
If not, is there a way to convert a 24bits or 32bits bitmap to a 8bits bitmap using custom colors?

if there is a quick way of creating a new blank bitmap say 1680x1050 - just wondering cause i want to make a live animation that is this big ... but when looping this it is fairly slow while doing this...I have tried:
New method:
Dim B as new bitmap(1680,1050)
Create once then clone:
Static NewB as new bitmap(1680,1050)
Dim B as bitmap = NewB.Clone[code]....
All of the above are about as slow as each other...

I have a problem with changing the color of a button (in vb.net). I have searched the web and plenty of people are willing to tell me HOW TO change the color but my problem is - it doesn't. I say it doesn't, it does when it has finished the rest of the code in the Sub. Can anyone furnish me with an explanation please as to why it doesn't happen when I ask? I'm using Visual Studio 2008

The Vb.Net application creates a bitmap from scratch and either converts to a tiff or sends it to a printer. In both cases, the quality of the image (in this case the font) is not good at all. The sample code listed below creates the graphics object that I use to write to the image.

I have a form with a split panel. In the one split are a group of buttons which I want to programmatically change the color of the last pressed button.The following loop seems to run correctly and set the colors correctly but the form doesn't represent that. Once the loop is completed and I recheck the button colors, they revert to previous state.[code]I can get the desired effect by doing the below code but seems less elegant and would obviously require updates as buttons would be added or removed.[code]

Now, the problem is that when I click on Button1 on Form3 it shows Form2 but the Form2 BackColor is not red, it is default color, A.K.A Control Color. But I specified in Button1 on Form1 that Form2.BackColor is Red. And also if I click on Button1 on Form2 when Form3 shows it, the Form3 BackColor is also default, it is not red.
I know one way to solve it but it is so not-professional. It is that you add on Button1 on Form2 this:
Form3.BackColor = Color.Red
and on Button1 on Form3 this:
Form2.BackColor = Color.Red
It is ok in this situation but what if I have more stuff, for example if I have an option for changing theme so it has to change all labels and buttons ForeColor, what then, is there any other way?

I was trying to create a custom button that changes the color of the backcolor & the forecolor upon mouse enter & leave the code in the designer as follows:

despite i have saved the project to that particular folder & when i try build it gives build succeeded?

I have decided I would start small and make a program that would create a "receipt" list in a listbox and a total. Now, I would like the user to be able to add their own "menu" items. I'm assuming the best way to go about this would be to have them actually add it to a database and then a function in the program will refresh the dataset with the new list. However, this is where my problem lies. How can I tell VB .net 2010 that I want to create a new button (or buttons) on the fly, in an orderly pattern on the form, based on the input from a DB?

I have a SQL database which I'm running a query against to return a list of names - eg using "select names from table"I would like to add all of these names to an array so I can use them later. I am using Visual Studios 2005 and I am creating an application for our IT Security.Part of the program is for documents and procedures. What I am trying to do is automatically create a menu based on the folders and files. So far I have it taking into account the base folder and one subfolder level and files within it, but I want it to automatically also take into account any subfolders and files that may be added at a later date without having to replicate the code below for each new level. I currently have a subroutine that generates a file with specific parameters, and it relies on user input in 2 fields. Now I also have a numericupdown control. What I'm looking for is a way that if Numericupdown.Value = 3 then it will generate 6 textboxes and once the parameters are filled out completely it will generate subroutine times(numericupdown.value) and output it to a single file.

I have a form with a few text boxes, one of which has it's contents stored to a integer variable.
The value stored will end up being one of a few numbers ranging from 12 to 98, and I need to the same number of new variables as the number in the textbox.
Can I automate the creation of new variables based on the value stored, or do I need to define the max number required and just ignore the rest when using less?

I have written an application that creates an mhtml file based on information in cache. The MHTML file can be opened in Opera but not Internet explorer. I have attatched an example of an MHTML file(saved as .txt) i have created. Does anybody know what im missing? Why wont it open in IE?
