Nov 23, 2011I want to copy some files from Source to Destination.Destination path will be the first part of source.If user dont have permissions at destination i need to throw an exception to the user at the end after completing the loop of all files.I have developed below code.

Mar 30, 2011I'm trying to copy a file, using System.Copy. The destination, if it exists, should be overwritten. I had been using a single line of code for about a month, without problems : IO.File.Copy(SourceFile, DestFile, True)But problems started about a week ago, when I started more advanced checks. Partially locked files fail to copy, and the destination gets deleted. Locked files, on the other hand, work correctly: they just trigger a file in use exception.So I added this line before launching the copy:Using TestForAccess As New IO.FileStream(SourceFile, IO.FileMode.Open, IO. FileAccess. Read, IO.FileShare.None) : End Using..This was supposed to launch an error if the file was in use. But it is to sensitive. Some files (such as thunderbird's abook.mab) trigger an error in this added code, whereas they copied fine before (and you can copy them in explorer).My question basically is: How do I tell the system: copy source to destination if possible; if not, don't break destination?

Apr 12, 2012I have a class library with a component class in it. Everything is in VB.NET. It's only one file so you can see it here [URL] . On line 92, there is the OnTextChanged Sub. I was thinking about adding ProcessAllLines() (as on line 128) to the end of that Sub, and it worked. However when I was typing in code to the RichTextBox (source which I used is here [URL] after each text change it was checking and processing ALL the lines. So I deleted ProcessAllLines() in the OnTextChanged Sub.I'm thinking about running ProcessAllLines() when the user pastes something to the SyntaksRichTextBox. However I do not know how to do that. I know that it should be something like:

I also want it to be in the class library, not the application (Syntaks Demo).

Now we need to pull data from Source database, manipulate it and push it into the destination database on daily basis.We are planning to use VB .Net for this and would like to know if this is feasible. Using windows forms through VB .NET, is it possible to create a exe and schedule the exe on nightly basis to pull the data from source to destination.how to do this as for manipulation of data, there is no intermediate database for us?

My current code is working only for 3 source files..If more than 3 files are there, it doesn't copy the data but creates blank work sheet in the output excel file. Lets say I have a source folder with 5 excel files. Each workbook contains one worksheet with data. It copies upto 3 worksheets along with data into output excel file.
Lets say excel1 contains A as work sheet, excel2 contains B as work sheet ,excel3 contains C as work sheet ,excel4 contains D as work sheet ,excel5 contains E as work sheet .Now my output excel file should look like..OutputExcel with A, B, C, D, E along with respective data.But my current code is giving output as A,B,C worksheets along with respective data but its creating blank sheet1,sheet2 in place of D & E.

I have a text file attached to format the text when it is copied. what I want to accomplish is...If I don't fill in every single textbox with text, I don't want that particular field to show when I paste it. Example, I have the layout like below on the text document.

textbox3.
No matter what, when I click copy, the text document is going to copy textbox1,2,and 3. If I only put text in textbox 1 and 3, I don't want it to copy textbox2 if its empty.

No changes (and I've tried in a few different files) are reflected in the project. However, and this is truly perplexing, if I go to Build --> Build from the Menu bar, the output .exe in the /bin/release/ directory DOES include all the recent changes.
