Filter Up Validation Code Through A Datagridview And Stop The Program Saving The Data?

I have a dataset along with code for validation. When I use a datagridview and setting the EditMode to OnEnter I get the red exclamations telling me that I have an error when this is needed. This works all good. when I click the save button on the BindingNavigator, the application saves the record even when this validation is showing. How do I filter up this validation code through a datagridview and stop the program saving the data? If you need the code for more information, I will add this to the forum.

I have a datagridview which filters on a boolean field where it's false. If the user clicks on the field, the line disappears immediately I guess because it no longer satisfies the filter. Is there any way to prevent this?

I have a CombBox and a data grid view on a form, when the form loads, the data grid view is loaded with data from the database. I want to filter that data with a selection from the combobox (which is loaded with data from another database). The code i have is as follows:
ContactsBindingSource.Filter = "Company Like '%" & Me.cmbSelectCompany.Text & "%'"but when I select an option from the drop down list the DGV gets cleared down as if my selection has no equivilant data in teh DGV.

I'm working with payroll application and I need data grid to view dates from 1/1/2011 to 31/1/2011 and this dates should be change by textboxs out of data grid to choose from where to start and when will end I mean he may change it to 1/1/2011 to 12/1/2011 so the first column will be the dates also second column will be if it is friday or Monday etc. Then 3rd column will be get from sql database table the time of check in and we will use this query.
"SELECT * FROM Transactions WHERE Date LIKE '%" & column1.Text & "%' and EmpID like '%" & TextBox1.Text & "%' and In like '%" & "2" & "%'"
And this number it the end of code will change to 0 and 1 and 3 to get the 4th column and 5th column etc. then next column will subtract time that will be shown in previous columns with times in labels that I'm already got from another table.

i tried something like this, it insert into the database even thought nric is wrong. So i want it to stop inserting the data into the database when the nric validation is wrong, however from what i do, the result is it still insert the name in....so where should change to allow it stop inserting until user change the value then can continue insert???

What I have is a program that is going to monitor and store different stats about different email servers. The basic layout of the main form is a datagridview. Now this program does not need to store the information into a database as it is only going to run on one machine which is why I did not bind the datagridview to a dataset. Maybe using a datagridview is not the way I need to go but researching around the only other option would be to save the data to XML. However since the table does contain hidden fields with authentication credentials, I am a little bit hesitant about doing so.

can anybody please help me with my problem. The error says that "the variable @a has already been declared..." As you can see I did not use the Me.Validate etc. to update my database because I do not know how to use them and I would like to focus on using this kind of codes in my program. Out of curiosity, is there a way i can make a program stop or pause for a period of time (which i would choose) before continuing the code WITHOUT a timer.I think I've seen this done before, but I'm not positive.Also note that I'm talking about a forms application (not a console app if that would be any different.)

In my datagridview there are two dependent columns, one is category and the other is items. So I want to filter my item column list as per selected category. But the problem is that when I change the category wise data to datasource of items combobox, previous selected items names disappear because previous items is not in current datasource.

I am doing a small project and I am using vb.net with MS access database. I am facing a Concurrency issue sometimes when I try to save data in the datagried view. I have added the datagried view by dragding and drop the table from the data source. Only one user is using the form to save data at one time. I think it works properly unless I moved from record to record then it gives me an error. "Concurrency, 0 records updated from expected 1....."

I have been working on a project which is used by a company's sale team, to combine all the wanted input data in one place allowing the sales team to show customers, where switching to them could save them money.
Basically what i want is a program which can save single records, which can hold data added in other text boxes, or indeed take the data from the list view boxes which is the intended output. I want to be able to save that data, then be able to Open it up again at a later date, and even modify it.
enabled me to save the three ways to identify a single record, the index number, company name and the date it was added. However I now need a way to save the data entered in my other forms to these single records.

I want to work on a project I have in mind and this envolves saving data which would need to be updated every time the user exits the program. I suppose I need to know how to save a file to a blank text document, and how to get the application to read the information when it is called for. I have a DataGridView where Cell_Validating is being done. I have a Cancel button on my form that allows the user to exit out of the DataGridView changes. The problem is that if a cell was currently flagged as in error, I cannot exit and remove columns from the DataGridView. I get the following error: Operation did not succeed because the program cannot commit or quit a cell value change.
