I want to get the data that the clipboard gets, form example I dont know If im explaining that good but I want to work like this: for example if I copy a text in a notepad.. i want my program to get the information and put it on a listbox.. and each time I copy something.. to keep adding the things I copy in a different line, i mean to dont overwrite in the last clipboard information stored..

I am just wondering if there is any way I could copy a bit of text using whatever application, but having a clipboard application of my own to store all of those on a listbox? So if it possible, how can I catch a value when I the user copies some text? I could make a cool application that would be quite handy... is there any event that could catch the data when something is copied onto the clipboard?

I have a listbox control on my form that has SelectionMode as MultiSimple so I can select more than one item with my mouse. I added a contextMenuStrip to my form and added it to my listbox. I am unable to read a pasted datagridviewrow object from the clipboard. All I want to do is, when a user has the entire row selected and copied, I would paste that row into the clipboard as a DataObject. That works just fine but when I attempt to read that DataObject (after the user clicks Paste) the DataGridViewRow that's saved in the clipboard always has a value of Nothing. i am trying to get data from the clipboard into dataset and view it on a datagridview using the code below. The problem is that every line after the first line starts with a character (like a small rectangle) but when i run a sperate loop to view each character i do not find any unexpected asc code.

View 2 RepliesI am returning to VB building, first time since HighSchool. I am creating a program that has many fields of data that you type into. When you click Generate Button it then writes all that data a .txt file and opens it in notepad.
From that point you copy everything in notepad and paste it into a ConnectWise HelpDesk Ticket.
My goal is to automatically get the data when clicking Generate to populate into the Clipboard, or let it write to the .txt file and then copy all the data from the .txt file into the clipboard. So all you have to do is Ctrl + V after Clicking "Generate"

There is Bitmap data on the clipboard from a screen capture. If I paste it into a RichTextBox it works OK. That is, if I remove the first two lines below.

However, If I capture the clipboard data and restore it before I paste I no longer get my bitmap displayed in the box. My problem is, in the real situation I need to use the clipboard before I paste which is why I save it and restore it above.
1) Do you know why restoring doesn't appear to work here?
2) I can't paste before the save/restore. Is there something else I can do?
I am having issues retrieving a class serialized in another application. If I put the code all in one application the set and get both work. If I separate the code into two applications the retrieval fails. Any thoughts on how to set the object to the clipboard in one app and get it back in a second one? [code]

I found out that you can't really move items from databound lists, but you can remove from the datasource instead. This works fine until I want to move the item back - it fills a blank line with seemingly no data.

I have the DisplayMember set to FirstName, and obviously only display the First Name of the contact in the ListBox. Is there an easy way to change it so that it displays the First and Last names? I have a listbox in my form that gets its values from a data table by data binding. My question is, when the data (row) is loaded it also selects the first line automatically. I do not want this because I want the listbox to select an item only when the user clicks on it. Otherwise, the iteme should ony be listed. Is there a way to manage this?

This data stream I have managed to capture & get it into a list box which I can sort based on the Device ID & the time that the response was received.There is a set time window for the devices to transmit their data into the application and during this each device is not limited to the number of responses it can send (ie :- Device 1 can send in 2 responses where Device 3 can send in 40 responses, etc).All of the responses are captured, listed & sorted within the listbox (this bit is working ).I now need to extract the last (ie:- latest) entry in the listbox for each Device ID & this is where I am stuck. I can retrieve the last item in the list but cant seem to extract the last item for each Device ID.[code]
View 2 RepliesIf I set a ListBox.Height = ListBox.PreferredHeight when the control is hidden and IntegralHeight = True, then set it visible:
a) Actual Height reduces by typically 3-5 pixels after redraw (but not 1 pixel per item).
b) PreferredHeight does not not appear to give the correct integral of item heights.
Is there a way to make ListBox calculate the correct integral Height before the ListBox is made visible, so it can be correctly pre-positioned from bottom edge?

I am making a TimeCard application and I got stucked.. Anyway, the program looks like this: the user inserts date,start hour and finnish hour into 3 textboxes. On the fourth textbox it will show how many hours he has spent. I am using StreamWriter to save the data to a .txt file. My plan is to make this program as simple as possible (no database, access etc.). So, my biggest problem now is how to add all data from textbox4 (the amount of worked hours). I was thinking, to save into a separate txt file the data from textbox4 and then with StreamReader to get it back into a listbox.. but then.. how to add all of them?
