I created a sql query to check if the mobile number is registered or not. If its registered, it will send the new pin code to the customer and if its not, the customer will get a message that "This number is not registered or you are not authorized to this"... something like that... Sending of new code is already working. I just dont know how to make it as conditional statement like PHP. how to create a conditional statement if the value of rows is zero or not.I want my output to something like... In my first application I need to create a multi-level "IF" statement and I am a little lost on how to proceed. The idea is to do figure out an estimate on costs based on the quantity of products being sold. I can do this in Excel, but the VB code escapes me.
So I'll show you in psuedo code what I want to do.
IF comboBoxA = 1 and comboBoxB = 1 then
value X
IF comboBoxA = 2 and comboBoxB = 1 then
value X
If comboBoxA > 3 and comboBoxB > 1 then
(comboxBoxA * costA) + (comboBoxB * costB) = Value X

In this case, the first option is not as good as the "INTERSECT" query operator, with which I can just easily connect each SQL query statement with a "INTERSECT" operator. Notice the fields prodno1 and prodno2 in the table structure.. this is part of a number of sql statements i need to run and put inside a loop. my problem is i want to automatically use this same code such that on the next loop, this sql statement is going to be:

- the table name is now r3 from r2 in the first SQL statement
- there are now prodno1, prodno2 and prodno3 instead of just prodno1 and prodno2
- in the WHERE clause, the p.prodNo becomes p.prodNo2

- there's going to be r4
- there's going to be prodno4
- in the WHERE clause i will use p.prodNo3
I have one text file with few thousand lines of information. Out of few thousand lines, few hundred lines are something like:

I'm creating a report with crystal reports where I show some fields from 2 tables.The worst thing is that I don't know how to insert an sql statement inside of a textbox. For example, wanna insert the total quantity of items of an order, (tables: items, orders).
With an SQL query is very easy to take the quantity of items, but don't know how to put the quantity in a text field inside the report designer, and there are no sql queries options in the reporter to do.
I had a small query relating to using an If statement.
Is there a short / easy way to populate 2 or more text boxes with different text if an if statement is true.
So.

Im trying to come up with a do while statement that reads through a text file till the end while pulling out 3 different matched items, then writing those matched items to ascending spots in an excel file, and then creating a bar graph according to the saved data. Sounds complicated but...I have the program reading the text file, pulling out the first iteration of all three, writing them to an excel file, and I have it even graphing them the way I want it to. The only thing I havent done before (and which is probably the easiest), is creating the do while statement so it keeps searching line to line for the three interactions of what im looking for and writing them to ascending spots in the excel file.
Right now my code works like this, which is perfect for pulling out the first 3 and creating a graph, I just inserting a do while and a rowindex + 1 variable.

I have a feeling in order to pull this off, I do not want to use the, "ReadAllLines" option and possibly want to put the text into an array.
And do something like: if lines.count > 0
But im not familiar with how arrays work in VB, and more specifically what the syntax is. The other tricky thing I am trying to add is an if statement that adds to a variable (such as i) everytime a line is added to excel so the program will write to ascending lines. I was trying to have the it work with the do while statement but pretty soon realized that if I did: i = i +1. Everytime it went through the loop then the data was going to be on random lines corresponding to their place in the text.
I would like to get some input as to how I would create the same code without a dreaded "goTo" statement. This is something i've wanted to get an answer to for a while and just thought about it again.

I'm making a custom control that needs to look like a Text Box but I can't Inherit Directly from text box since I need to add, Change and Override so many things that it would be more practical to just inherit Control and start new.
But now my question is: Is there an easy way to create the basic functionality of a Text Box like drawing the Text Box and handling input ?
