With listTasks.PointToClient(New Point(e.X, e.Y)) you could use listTasks.GetItemAt(p.X, p.Y) to get the ListView item you're over. Is there something like this for Groups? Or perhaps a better way to determine what group is the target of a drag-drop?

As far as i can think of it can be achieved via overriding the paint event but i have not done any overriding of paint events on windows controls so far.

I put some group boxes on a user interface and now labels and pictures that are set to visible can't be seen even when the group box is set to visible = false. (I have the group box and the pictures and labels in the same place on the form and was planning on using buttons to make them visible and invisible but the pictures and labels stay invisible no matter what while being in the same place as the group box.)
Does anyone know why group boxes do a sound job of making things invisible and how to correct it?
I wanna make a group box that appears behind my labels and other controls (which I create from inside the code). I dont need the controls to be in the group control collection, I only need the box because it looks nice. Right now it appears on top of all my controls.

View 3 RepliesI'm trying to make an application for beta testers in my design group so that they can easily send their reports back to the developers. Designing the user interface is not the problem.it's the coding. What I want to do is let the user select a radio button for the project they are testing, then fill in some text fields, select options, etc regarding the project tests, then when they are done, click "submit" and it will either send the data to a specific email address (internally coded, not input by the user) or send the data in a text file to a directory on my server. (whichever method works/is easier) I'm not the best programmer, so don't yell at me if I'm slow to understand anything, LOL.

If the Group Name exists for the Current User, I want that group name to be displayed in a drop down list. Example: If current user is in BIG Group, display BIG in drop down list.Problem: All I am getting is SIDs and I'm not able to get anything to match up to the group name and nothing will show up in the drop down list.I also get the following Error:Error: Object variable or WIth block variable not set.How do I fix this?? here is the code I am using:

I am trying to make a listview custom control based on the standard listview control that will allow me to drag a column header outside the standard listview control and drop it on a panel. I plan to use the drop event to determine which column I should group by view on.

So in the begining each box will be invisible and when you click the button the corresponding group box will become visible. Is there any other way?It will be like a background image and it'll have buttons that will mask it with invisible buttons. when the button is clicked it will open the corresponding group box.
