To be specific once I load a page into the webbrowser control and it is displayed I simply want to be able to click and drag with the mouse over multiple cells. Once I have selected the multiple cells I want to be able to do something to them such as adding an attribute. I can do this with a single cell. With the follwoing code:

how to make forms disappear when a new one opens up?For example, I have a log in, and after logging in, the log in form disappears and my application appears.
I need to create a small program that runs in the taskbar to monitor browser urls for particular words. We are using it at work to catch people going to certain banned websites in the work place.Right now it works if i hand code each banned site into the code directly and run with a timer:[code]This works perfectly. Problem now is the Admins want direct access to add/remove different sites to the list. There is no way I am giving them access directly to my code (a bad day comes to mind). So I am attaching a small database with a small table to the server and allowing them to add URLS there. I am stuck in how to use this data though.I have tried pulling up the database column into a listbox but can not configure the code to check each line in listbox to compare to each browser window.
I also tried listed the items in a one column datagrid and try to loop through each row to compare each window.I need each browser window to be compared to a list of items and trigger events if a match is found. If your wondering why I am building this, our IS security people are all or nothing. Either no Net or Full Access. Also our people are a bit to smart to be tracked through history or simple blocking methods.
I wanted to make a program in which multiple files could be saved into one and then unpacked later. I tried reading and then rewriting the exact strings but it made the files corrupt. I was able to do it with bytes but I'm not sure how I add mutiple files together.
I have a few questions. first, how do i make it so that when you open your program you can not open ctrl+alt+del = task manager? second how do i make it so that a button opens a .bat file? third Is it possible to a button open multiple Internet Explorer Windows? When i try to do this it only opens a bunch of tabs? and lastly how do I make it so that when it installs on a computer it installs straight to the start-up folder without the user knowing it, or how do you make it so it opens automatically on start-up?
I'm trying to make a notepad, but I can not get it to open files on start up.what i mean, example, I right click on a text file on my desktop and select open with and then my program(it opens the program with a blank textbox, it does not open the text file)I do not know the code for makin this come true
I only started using visual basic earlier this year so I'm still a newbie but I've been wondering some things:
1. When you have a picturebox back color to transparent, objects under it still get hidden. Is there a way around this?
2. I've been trying to make a program where you can control an object, and it has multiple animations, but I can't figure out a way of doing this other than having a bunch of picture boxes together and making them visible/not visible as needed. Is there a better way to do this?
3. (I think) I know how to make global variables (dim whatever as global.system.integer ? I don't have it on the computer I'm posting with), but how do I make another form use them?
4. Is there a way to have multiple sounds play at the same time? Whenever I play a sound it stops whatever else is playing.
I am creating a program that has many text boxes and labels on the form. I want to be able to edit fields close the program and open it up so that the form opens with the last editing I did in the fields.
How can I combine specialized string collections so that I can accomplish this :
-Save all the tab's texts from a tabcontrol -Save contents of the tabs : eg.Every tab contains a label and I save the text of each label
And the real problem: -Loading them when the program opens
I have made some thoughts about saving them, but not about loading them setting.TabNames.Clear() setting.TabLabels.Clear() For Each item As TabPage In TabControl1.TabPages Dim name As String = item.Text setting.TabNames.Add(name) [Code] .....
What is the best way to make a program that works with multiple versions of Microsoft office? I own office 2007, so my program uses the office 2007 com objects. When I try to use my application with office 2003, I get errors related to the com objects. Does Microsoft have com objects that are compatible with multiple versions of office?
I have ran into a small problem with my code. I got bored lately so I wanted to try a project. A program that will start up with windows starts up and it opens a webpage like google.
My code is below.
Imports System.IO Public Class Form1
[CODE]...
I use the code [code] System.Diagnostics.Process.Start [URL] when a button is clicked, but when I add that code in without clicking a button, it does not work. I have tried to put it everywhere, but it just does not work. I have also looked it up.
I created a webrowser in VB.net to track employee usage and it seems to be working fine but I wanted to find out what it would take to set this as a default browser on a PC.I also would need to know how to pull the URL from shortcuts so when the program opens I can have it open to the URL in the shortcut.
Im trying to use a Settings file that the program opens and reads the info from when it loads BUT when the user chooses a custom color (ex: ff5f67d6) How can i assign the form background color to that color code?
Dim BgColor As Color = ColorTranslator.FromHtml(Settings(0)) Me.BackColor = BgColor Settings(0) = the color code
I need to create/get a simple program that opens up a webpage, writes to a log if it is successful or not, logs out and repeats 5 minutes later.I'm not a coder myself, and I have no coders available at my work, I do on the otherhand have access to Visual Basic .NET 2010.
I currently have a program that I made which opens other apps packaged with an installer. I have set the installer to install everything to the Program Files folder. However, not all computers have a C: hard drive. I have a way in which they can enter their drive letter in one form then in the next form it remembers the drive and will take them to the program. The problem is my program stores the drive letter in an xml file. On the startup of the program it looks in the xml file to find the drive letter, if there is no drive letter the form opens then lets the user set his drive letter. The xml file is stored in the folder "Math Wizard" in the Program Files folder. But if not all computers have C:Program Files I need a shortcut to the program files folder. I have been trying to use %ProgramFiles% (%Program Files% + "Math Wizardconfig.xml") but vb is saying that the % is an invalid character. Here's my code:
I'm developing the program which opens files/programs that I have selected and checked with checkbox1, 2 and 3(i haven't coded the tihrd one yet, but it doesn't affect). The first program runs instantly and others run after X interval if it's wrote in textbox4 and checked by checkbox4. So Checkbox is like an activator for this interval. If checkbox4 isn't checked then every program should run instantly. The problem is that checkbox4 isn't doing a job. Program activates the interval if there are somekind of numbers in textbox4. It doen't matter that is the checkbox4 checked or not.
Here is the
Public Class Form1
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click

I am opening a website in a WebBrowser control using VB.NET 2008. On the fourth page of the website, I want to focus the control by triggering the tab key programmatically. [cod]e...
I want to use webbrower control to upload a image without a user manually pointing to it. I have setup the multipost information, but I need the actually sending the image. How can I accomplish this task? Here is the multipost code I have so far:
Private Sub WebBrowser1_DocumentCompleted(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As WebBrowserDocumentCompletedEventArgs) Handles WebBrowser1.DocumentCompleted Dim boundary As String = "---------------------------" & DateTime.Now.Ticks.ToString("x", NumberFormatInfo.InvariantInfo)
I am trying to make a html editor that allows you to preview the code as you type.
The users are able to see a live preview of the text they're typing. What I'm trying to do is get the webbrowser to load images from a different location. So, when the user changes the text in the richtextbox, the webbrowser.documenttext is changed to the text of the richtextbox and the page is loaded. But, if the code contains images, the webbrowser won't load them because there isn't any file, just the documenttext. The richtextbox is linked with the actual file itself, but I can't make it constantly write text to the actual file because that would make the save function pointless. Writing the text to another file in the same location isn't an option either, because that is too slow.
So, how can I make the webbrowser read the images from a self-selected directory?
