Moving Items To Another Tab

I'm replacing a text box with a combo box. I'm doing this since there are a set amount of inputs for this value. I added the combo box and entered in the values.The problem is that I can't seem to get the value that was selected..I tried setting a text box to the contents of the combo box and nothing happened.TextBox1.Text = cbbct.Text..That is what I tried and it didn't work. This really confuses me since I use a combo box to open save files and that works nicely.Also I'd like to use multiple tabs for my program. I made two tabs then cut and paste my text boxes,buttons, etc. onto them. After I did that I could not open a save file and have it populate the text boxes and set the check boxes. Is there anything I should be careful of when moving stuff to a tab or cutting and pasting?

I have my random alpha-numeric generator giving me a list of 500 items. I need to be able to search the "random Plate listbox" by entering into a textbox. Partial matches will be displayed in listbox1. My code for searching the "random plate listbox" is not returning results.

I need to move items between two list boxes, I've never used list boxes before so this is totally new to me and I don't know where to begin, all I know is they work kinda like arrays.
So what I need is to move one or more items, from ListBox1, and move them to ListBox2 and vice versa

So i have a "game", and the login screen for the game is built into a panel. When you click the load button the panel shows up inside the form, and you are able to type in your username and password. what i am trying to do is make it so the user is able to drag that login panel anywhere inside the game form; just to make it a bit more advanced then just a fixed spot.

i have a listbox full of items and i want to use a loop to access these items one after the other and then process each one for admission.That is when the item is at memory location 0, it will work on that item and the move to the next at memory location 1 till it gets to the end of all the items in the list box but my loop is not working i have tried different types of techniques but none of them it working these are my codes

I have created a form with a menu-strip containing sub-menus. The sub-menus will open on clicking the menu items but I am willing to display the sub menus on moving the cursor on menu items(mouse-hover). What will be the code for this? Is there any property in menu-strip to display like that?

Error List is displayed as follows:(I've excluded the icons)0 Errors 0 Errors 0 Warnings 0 Warnings 0 Messages 0 Messages The standard toolbar images are also displayed in 'duplicate'
This is before I open a project and visual studio is on the start page. The 'duplicates' do not go away even when a project is open.When project is open, Solution explorer displays duplicate images as well
I've tried all the following but still cannot get it to display normally. Restored my computer to a time when it was working ok. Full scan on my computer with AVG premium which includes spyware etc (No viruses , etc found) All software is updated fully

I get this error tho: Unable to cast object of type 'System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripSeparator' to type 'System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripMenuItem'. As you can probably guess i have ToolStripMenuItems and separators in there
However the AndAlso should short circuit in the case where the item is not a ToolStripMenuItem and it doesn't seem to be doing so (as TypeOf xItem Is ToolStripMenuItem=false in this case)?

Certain areas of my tab control have become what seams to be transparent using Visual Basic Express 2010. I can rearange items in the tab, except in certain blackhole like areas. When I move a item within the blackhole area or move a item to the blackhole area it disapears to another tab. I can move items out of the blackhole region and they sit where I put them.

I've got some old code of mine that I'm going back to and updating a little bit. On one part of it I need to check if there are any items in the recycle bin or not.
This is the code I was using to accomplish this:

I know how to do what is in the subject already, but I want to do it a different way than what is stated in the subject. What I want to do is be able to create multiple items with different names and then load the names into a listbox. When I select the item in the listbox with the name, such as Item1, it will put the text from the control named Item1 into a textbox.
I am clueless as to how I could accomplish this. What I am doing is adding Items to a menustrip's dropdown Item, then adding items to the dropdown items. So I would have the item collection such as:
One
Two
Three
So I could choose the item in the listbox with the text "Three" and I could load several properties of the item Three. Such as Three.text, Three.Tag, and Three.Name. And I could also edit these. And then when Three is chosen in the listbox, I could add sub items to it.
So it would look like this in my perspective(Although the code would not work)

I'm making an application that does some stuff involving the given subject, so this is very crucial to the completion and efficiency of my application.What I'm in need of today is simple (well, "seems" simple). I have one listbox that I want to populate with directories file's names. I don't mean the files inside the directories, but the names of the folders inside the directory.So, I have "c:empdog", I'd click on my button or whatever and search for the directory and I choose "temp", said listbox would show "dog".
UPDATE: Oh, BTW. It doesn't HAVE to be a listbox, it can be anything (IE: Textbox, Labels, Etc.).

I am in the process of moving my Visual Studio development from a 32-bit to a 64-bit system I have set up VS 2008, and copied my build files from the 32-bit system over to the 64-bit system. The program builds OK, but whenever I try to openone of the child forms from the Main form, I get a COM error message (component not registered)

So as a direct result of this global financial hoohar I'm going to start a new job as a VB.net developer tomorrow. Up to this point I've been developing in C# (bit of java, vb6, sql, tibco, etc. here and there)
So the question is this, what are the gotchas to look out for and does anyone have any good advice on writing good vb.net code?(Any other advice on coping with a salary / prospects drop welcome but not essential Just a quick update, company seems really good, current code base appears to be of a very high quality.Am starting to adjust to the VB way of doing things (can't stop myself adding semicolons everywhere though!).
