I am implementing RFC 1350/TFTP in my application. I've got everything figured out and working as expected except for NetASCII transfer mode.
"A host which receives netascii mode data must translate the data to its own format."
That's the part that has been bugging me for a while now. get NetASCII mode working correctly?

Why is so hard in vs2008?
I managed to send (or so I think). Because I can see the LEDs flashing on my board connected to the pc. But I do not get any response back from the board.
The reason I do it in vs2008, is because I need the program to run on a PDA. But to understand how rs232 works in vs2008, I just created a simple program for the pc to talk to my board.
for example, I send:
SerialPort1.Write(Chr(2) & "I" & Chr(3)) and I expect back (into a textbox), a hex string 25 characters long.
The board also send data to rs232 sometimes, without me requesting it.
I have an application that inserts data to a sql server db when it receives input. The problem is that i see many duplicate entries in the table. I have checked my code and it shouldn't do that:

I've inherited a tested function that processes incoming data from a .NET Serial Port. (Dim RXBuffer as string = serialport1.ReadExisting) I've written a different part of the application that processes a byte array as received from an asynchronous .NET socket.
Is there a way I can convert the byte array into a string as if it arrived from the serial port?
I would prefer to rewrite a very long 'if statement' into byte array functions syntax that look like:

View 7 RepliesI use the data binding mode to fill data into a list box, that is just fill all of the data in the table. if I want to group one of the table column and only display it in the listbox, how can I get this done? I know how to add a getData query to my table adapter, but how can I bind that new datatable to the list box at runtime?? cuz I need to put the data binding mode information in before I run the application and in the binding mode is no way to choose that getData query.

I have used DataRepeater in VirtualMode, do I have to supply my own code that will "actually" make corresponding changes to the actual tables, or is there a way of "configuring" or "binding" the controls on the DataRepeater to the "dataSet" so that the changes made by the user are reflected automatically in the underlying table? Whatever I have tried so far has yielded no results; whenever i edit the data on the control, the actual data is not updated. All the files in my access data base are numeric (database cannot be changed) but I need to change the value formats in the table. I want to convert one particular cell in the table to a percent with one decimal and also display the '%' symbol. Similarly, I want to round and display a '$' symbol in another cell. How would I do that? How would I select a specific cell in this table to change?

Now, I want to extract each of the <td>...</td> group. How shoud I do this?I tried to use xml to do this. However, since xml doesn't support < and & in the content area and I can't guarantee there is no such two characters.
I have a dgvAssetsSummary which holds data queried from the database, it hold's the AssetType column and Total column, it's grouped by AssetType, giving a summary of all the totals and what assettype they belong to.I'd like the Total column to be formatted so that there are no decimals and with commas, at present each total has four decimal places and no commas, this needs to be able to be read easily by clients. I've tried using the following code to format the column after I query the database, but to no avail.
