Automatically Scrolling Text Box Info Into View?
Sep 21, 2011In a project I'm working on studying Regular Expressions in matching text in a text box to the regular ezpression. The indexes and lengths of matches in a text box are stored in a list box. When I click an index, I use the info to set the text box selection Start and Selection Length so I can quickly observe all of the matches in the text box by clicking or using the arrow keys to scan through the text box listings.
It works great except when large amounts of text are in the text box, some of the matches are scrolled off the visible area of the text box so it is necessary to manuall scroll throught the text box, which reduces the usefulness of the setup.Is there a way to get the text box to automatically scroll into hidden text that is marked with the selectstart and selectlength so they are all automattically displayed when the list box is clicked?

Apr 6, 2010I have this program im making it is supposed to be a basketball game monitor. The user enters two teams and the 12 players on each team then it has you pick the 5 active players and takes you to the run form where you can start the game once started you can add things like fouls and baskets made and attempted if a player gets 5 fouls or you hit stop clock you change which players are active and its supposed to update the database through the dataset and dataadapter but it doesnt seem to update the database with the info put in the datagrid view.
Here is the code of the run form i will also attach source in zip file if needed to point out mess ups
Update: When you hit resume game after change of players is when it puts zero on everyone again.

Load The Files In A Folder Into A Box And Display The Songs Info Into A List View?
Feb 23, 2010Okay I'm making a song organizer and I have a program that will load the files in a folder into a box and display the songs info into a list view. That part works fine but when you click the button to make it do anything it will get the variables that it need from the tags on the cells for each song but for some reason the one for the Album just disappears... I tried having it just show the value in a message box and it works fine. Just when I try to combine it with another variable then it wont show at all. Heres my code

Get Click Event Info?
Nov 11, 2009I have what I am pretty sure is a pretty simple question, but I can't seem to find my answer. I have a whole lot of label's that I click (I use them as buttons) anyway, in the handles ...click sub I want to create a variable that gets the name of the label/button that is clicked. I am sure this must be pretty common but I have searched and have not found a thing.
This is so I can have one handles label1.click, label2.click etc that gets the name of the button and then does what it is suppose to for that particular button. I am using RS-232 strings to control and AV receiver.

Aug 3, 2009I have a listview set up in Details View and I run a ascending/descending sort routine on the appropriate column when the user clicks one of the column headers.However, when I switch companies and reload the listview with new information, for some reason the event fires and I get an indexoutofrange exception as I believe that the information has not yet loaded when this fires.The e.Column property is set to that of the previous column which I clicked even though I have clicked nothing.

My Program Isn't Selected The Right Item That Click On - Allows A User To View A List Of Foods In A Combo Box
May 1, 2012I am creating a program that allows a user to view a list of foods in a combo box, add that food unto a list box, and adds all of the calories of that food together. When the user highlights their select food, the program automatically shows the amount of calories for that particular food in a text box. The program is getting the food and calorie information from an access database. I managed to get all of the food calories to add up properly, however, I ran into a problem. Sometimes, well, most of the time, when I select certain foods from the combo box, the program automatically reselects another random food, usually a food that begins with either an A, B, or C. Also, the other random food that the program chooses usually has the same amount of calories as the food I originally wanted to choose. I have over 6,000 items in the database. I don't understand why this is happening. This is what my code looks like for the button that adds each food to the list box:

Javascript - Button Click Event On Modal Popup, Inside A Grid-view Not Firing
Jun 10, 2012I have a asp grid with a few columns that bind to data. The last column has been converted to a template-field. In this template-field is a button with a modal popup extender attached to it. Hidden inside this field is a modal popup. This modal popup is used to add a new account. it contains 2 text boxes, drop down lists and buttons("Add" and "Cancel"). When "add" is clicked the modal should close after the inserting of the new account in the code behind.
The Problem: I get the popup to display and load the Drop down lists from the cache, without problem. How do I get the button click event to fire in the code behind. I've tried using a JavaScript function that performs a _doPostBack('btnAddAcc','') but it keeps returning the error "JavaScript error: Object expected". I gathered after about 1 hour on Google that it is because "btnAddAcc' is not found because it is actually within the grid-view cell and can't be directly accessed. Using page methods and ajax calls is a last resort as the company has a strict policy against this and only allowes this after a bunch of paperwork.
