Does anyone have a VB 2008 code example to save a bitmap in 256 color (8 bits/pixel) PNG format, using the default Web palette? (I keep getting 32 bits/pixel).Note, this is not for icon use, but for images.
Dim bm As New Bitmap(1024, 1024)
...
bm.Save("test.PNG", ImageFormat.Png) seems to save with 32 bits/pixel
Suppose i have an image and i extract each pixel color and store it in a color array, is there any way by which i can save the color array along with the image? I was thinking about converting the color array to string and then integer and then append data to a text box, but then again i must store the text along with the image....and i dunno how to do that?
I have tried a few different libraries and had no luck at all was wondering if anyone has ever gotten .tga to save with vb.net 2010 if so could you please help me out with this.
I have the following code found on internet: Const WM_CAP_START = &H400S Const WM_CAP_EDIT_COPY = WM_CAP_START + 30
'The first step is to recognize that the video captured by the web cam can be saved as individual images. By displaying a series of continuous images on the client, it is similar to watching a video stream. To capture an image, I have defined the following subroutine:
'---save the video data into the Image global variable--- Public Sub CaptureImage() Dim data As IDataObject Dim bmap As Image Dim ms As New IO.MemoryStream() '---copy the image to the clipboard--- [Code] .....
The problem is the code fail to retrieve the image from clipboard? What I'm trying to do is connect to a webcam, then save the video stream file on this webcam as bitmap file before transfer to the client side as an array of bytes.
I created a new cursor (it works properly, I tried it in windows 7) but is not working for me in the program.I took the Windows cursor (aero_helpsel_xl, from C:WindowsCursors) and it appears to me the same error.i use with this code:
Me.Cursor = New Cursor("Patch..")
The problem say:: "{"Image format is not valid. Image file may be corrupted.
Parameter name: stream "}"
edit: I realized what the problem ... It can read only cur files with 24-bit color and lower - but it shows only two colors: black and white.
How do you convert a System.Drawing.Bitmap image to any other type of image? I tried CType, which failed, since I do not know the type for .png or .jpg. I cannot find it anywhere on google either. What is the most efficient method to do this, which keeps the quality of the image as high as possible?
Is there any way to make a text box show up the correct color format when you type vb code into it? Like when you type "dim" it changes to blue. Or is there some control that I can't find that does this? or any alternative suggestions?
I am "weeks new" to visual basic 2008 but I was hoping that someone might tell me how I can open an image in whatever type of "visible" graphics window (always positioned at: x=0 y=0); move to some "definable position" of interest x=(n) y=(n); change the brightness of that "individual pixel" by some "definable means of measure" from its original state; and save the new image as a separate image file?
I hoping to find a current and simple way to do this. I'm using VWD Express 2008 and SQL Express 2008.I'm able to get the client's path to the image file using an asp:FileUpload control on the web form.
How do I upload the client's image file and display it in the web form's image control? How do I save it to the sqlserver? The image table is already set up with a "Image" data type column. Can the image be saved to the database as simply as other data types?
I try to add text strings to an image but keep the metadata of the original image. The problem is How can I save ImgMetaData (from the original image) to the new image?
Here are the codes:
Public ImgMetaData As BitmapMetadata Public myImageCodecInfo As ImageCodecInfo Public myEncoder As Encoder

I'm a VB beginner.I've been playing with Graphics.DrawString by watermarking a picture with a text string. The picture below to the left comes from PictureBox with a text string drawn with Graphics.DrawString. The font style used is Arial 48 points, regular, I think. The picture in PictureBox shows just as I configure. Great... The resolution of the original Terri Hatcher picture is 300 dpi (300 x 300). Exporting this picture with Graphics.DrawString, I get the picture below to the right. The text string appears a lot bigger than previously shown in PictureBox. It turns out that the text size varies, depending on the resolution of the original picture. That's kind of odd. I develop several graphics applications in a different environment and have never seen this sort of graphics.drawstring thing. Anyway, my sample application seems to draw a text string at an image resolution of
I am trying to edit an image. I can open the image with Picturebox1.load(mypicture)
I can change the pixels/edit the picture by Dim img as new bitmap(picturebox1.image)
[Code]...
now here is the weird part. When I save the image the filesize INCREASES..but the picture dimensions are the same Example... TEST.PNG 1.3KB, when opened up via picturebox/saved the image is now 2.3KB
not sure why...i even though I specify system.drawing.imaging.imageformat.PNG
samething with JPG... it actually SHRINKS it evenmore.. example 88KB jpeg.. saved as jpeg is now 47.7KB...
I have made a program that when you type {P in a rtb it erases the {P and makes the text purple. When I try to paste the rtb.text to a new rtb it loses the color codes. Is there a way for the text that is purple to stay purple?
Dim PictureLoc As String PictureLoc = list.SelectedItem 'list of picture paths Me.BackgroundImage = Image.FromFile(PictureLoc) Dim NewPic As New Bitmap(1, 2) 'Make a new image
I am using VB2008. I have an image (black with transparent background). I would like to replace the black color of the image to another color (blue or red). Suggestions on how I could go about this will be very much welcome.
I'm in search of a simple algorithm to replace a color in an image with a different one like in this one-> [url]. I'm using VB.NET. Can a "flood fill" algorithm be applied for this purpose?
I am trying to create a function that would take 2 images. 1 of the images is a grayscale image and the other is a normal image. What i want to do is apply any of the R or G or B of the grayscale image (in grayscale image r=g=b so it makes no difference) to the Alpha of the second image. i DID succeed on it. However the code is EXTREMELY slow. It takes 1 second to perform it. And i have to perform the function atleast 30 times a second (it will be outputting to a Decklink card). Here is the code:
public function createOverlay(ByVal Main as Bitmap, ByVal Key as Bitmap) as Bitmap For index as integer =0 To (Key.Width*Key.Height)-1 Dim crntX= index Mod(Key.Width)
[code].....
This function will have to run infinitley until the user presses stop and keep updating the output buffer. How can i make it faster? ( i need at least 30 executions per second)
OK I have been trying to find a way of saving images in .TGA format I know it's not supported directly so I have been doing some searching and found this [URL] I added the reference and checked to use the name or whatever under that for the Devil dll and I added both the DevIL.NET.dll and the DevIL.NET2.dll files to the references and then I even tried putting imports.DevIL at the top of my code but it still wouldn't work I fallowed the examples from the site and it gives me an error under the word DevIL and is says something like namespace is invalid or something like that
