I'm writing an asp.net page with a simple registration form that connects to my access database and inserts the values in the table. So I have my database, my registration page, everything looks fine in my code, but there's a syntax error I can't seem to figure out. When I go on my webpage and click submit, it says : Syntax error in INSERT INTO instruction.
1. how to save the multi same form values with vb.net & access?
2. One of the combobox - room names (computer center, first meeting room, second meeting room, etc) on this multi same form, but it is limited from the admin, actually, the admin will assign the room to the manager to set the room. (I will do this room names combobox from the other table binding.) My question for this, is possible to have multi same form, but with different combobox values for each manager?
Im trying to send data from a Windows Form to an aspx page and send back a response. Im running around in circles trying to make this work. The data im trying to send is 4 strings. So fare I have this in my code, using the build-in webclient in visual studio 2010, in the windows form sending to the aspx
Are there any good books out there that will show someone how to set up a form using Visual basic that will take information and send it to the server and then send a recipient an Email?
I am trying to send keys to a control on my form. But I am getting a NullReferenceException and I don't know why. The code is about as basic as it gets:
The error reported is object reference not set to an instance of an object but Send is a shared method so doesn't need an instance. Strangely if I ignore the error it works fine and F4 is passed to the control. I know there was an issue with sendkeys and UAC but I thought this had been solved (I am using 4.0 framework).
I have a two different tables, Table 1 and table 2.
Table 1 ----------- Resource Start Date End date
....
Here I have to match the total hours of each table according to the resource, then have to find the mismatched data and find difference with that values of mismatched data.
I'm wondering if any one knows a way to take two values from within VB and send them to a database. then return a list of values cpu (temp) list of all temp's ( and what is the best type of data base to use for this - it will need to be on the internet )
I'm using some HTML with vb.NET and would like to know if it's possible to pass data back and forth. I need the value of an option in a drop down box passed down:
I'm trying to build a sales program in which by adding multiple items in a RichTextBox, with the click of a button, the program can sum the price of these items and put it in a TextBox as the total sum of these values.I've been going nuts about on how to write the code for this..It's the last part of the program that i need to conclude ir.

I'm trying to loop through a bunch of checkboxes I have created on my aspx page. I would like to get all the values, and parse them to a string to send to another page as post variables. This is what i have so far:
aspx.vb file: Protected Sub Submit_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles Submit.Click Dim targetURL As String targetURL = "report.aspx?" ' This is the part i can't figure out. ' For Each checkbox on page 'if checkbox is checked 'targetURL &= checkboxid & "=true&" End Sub
My goal is to build another page that will then check these values using Querystring variable, and build a listview out of them. (a report page, that basically lets the user select checkboxes of the columns they want to see on the report).
I want to send hex values across the serial port. I know, I know, your thinking not this again. But what I need to do does not seem to be addressed, or I am some how missing it when I search around.
I am trying to send data to a MS Access mdb. I have looked up tons of different things but I still cannot find what I need. I am not sure of what the correct name of the operation that I am looking for is? I already have the table saved. I just want to fill one cell in the table for now. The table is not in the same folder as my program. Or would it be better to have it in the same folder, if so how do I access the data as an mdb file?
Private Sub Button3_Click_1(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button3.Click 'Para abrir un formulario independiente /Open independent form
I have a parent form that has a list of items and each item has a unique ID. The user can open one or many of the items in a child form (it is set up in a tabbed MDI), but it can only open one instance of each item at a time.
In the parent form, I was going to make a collection (or something like that, maybe there is a better way) to keep track of which items are open in the child forms. I need to know when each child is closed so that it can be removed from the collection and reopened at a later time. I was thinking that when the child form closes, it somehow does something (like raise an event) that tells the parent form to remove the unique ID from the list of current open child forms.
My questions are, is this a good way to do this and I am pretty sure I would use the form closed event in the child form to update that parent form, but as well, I didn't know if this is the best way of handling it.
If raising the event is a good way, are some examples on how to do it out there? I found some for controls, but not while the form is closing/closed.
I am currently doing a program to control some device via usb port but i don't know how to interface the usb port using vb.net. i want to send data on a device to make it act like parallel port..
I have created code to send the sql statements for all of my queries to a text file. Now i want to figure out the parent/child relationships of the queries. I need to select the tbl names in the "FROM" statement and insert them into an access table.
Here is an example of the data in my text file: Query:__Base_Budget_Costs SELECT tbl_BUDGETED_HSO.ID, tbl_BUDGETED_HSO.Category,
I need the code to be able to send info from a textbox to an access database. I understand I have to use Ado but I cant put the code together. so lets say my textboxes are called textbox1 & textbox2 my database is located and called c:htw.mdb, my table is called table1 and the 2 columns are named test1 & test2. I want to be able to send the data to access when clicking on a button?
I'm working on it for a couple of days but I couldn't get any success.. I'm trying to access Calc's edit box and trying to write something there but I couldn't do it =( what's wrong with my codes?
I am using VB2008 Express and a MSSQL Server 2005 db by the way! I have a comprehensive SQL statement, which should fill my Grid:
DECLARE @Sum NUMERIC(9,2) SELECT @Sum = SUM(I_LS.lmenge) FROM dbo.lfs AS I_L
...
Now here is my problem! I want to have a form with a datagridview that displays all of the values I am querying. This shouldn't be a problem I guess. However, I have no idea how I can integrate two textboxes that can be used to enter the selection criteria (WHERE I_L.lfsnr LIKE '%1253') AND (l.sped_journal = '11-08'). I have googled and read many threads so far but didn't stumble upon anything that would suit my needs and answer my question. Maybe it's just too elementary!? By the way, it is very important that the input of textbox1 ((WHERE I_L.lfsnr LIKE '%1253')) is linked to 3 positions in my SQL query to define the search criteria!
The worst thing is that I don't want to have a bindingnav displayed! I do not need any delete, update or add functions just the select option, however!
Inside a form, I would like to display a pdf file which is already available in my resources (template file "untitled"). In this pdf file, I have some fields which get their values from some texboxes in another form. My aim is, when the user triggers the button to call this form, it should insert the values inside the pdf file and display the output pdf inside the form.I have written the code to an extend but could not finish it myself after my many trials... Now here are the two things I cannot manage:I can use a directory to read the template pdf "untitled1.pdf". But my aim is to use the file inside my resources. can save the output file in a directory but this is not I want to do. I want to display the output pdf.
im doing a project in vb 2008 with 5 forms. i need form 2, 3, and 4 to send an item that is doubleclick in a listbox in those forms to a listbox in form 5.
I would like to add values to my existing db ie to say:
currently in my db table (trade) has column (buy). It has alr a value of 10 to it. Now when the user inputs a value "20" into the textbox in vb.net, how do i write the syntax such that the user input value "20" will add to the db's "10" which means now the db column (buy) has a value of "30"? Been thinking quite long but no ideas so far.
