Checking The Code Line By Line And Found That The Code Does Not Enter The IF Block?
Jan 15, 2012I am using the given code to copy my database files...it works like a charm in debug mode but as soon as I create a setup, it stops working. The error is

Display The Square Root Symbol On A Button In A Windows Form?
Feb 11, 2011I'm trying to display the square root symbol on a button in a windows form. I'm using the unicode U+221A which on windows character map is the root sign. When i enter this in visual basic ensure the font is the same as that in the character map (wasn't sure if that made a difference to the unicode) my button displays the eta sign instead. Any help greatly received.
This is the code i'm using to set my unicode the the buttons text property.

Aug 2, 2011I am attempting to send my XML file through an API. I have done this no problem by using the below code, however when I try and send the FILE over it will not work, I am now getting in the browser:
Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 39.
Without trying to send FILE it works:

Well, the path of the .zip file has spaces in it and it's not recongizing the path as a valid path. Is there a another way to tackle this problem besides the shell?I can't us pkzip either. I have tried vbnewline, controlchars. newline, controlchars.crlf, vbcrlf, chr(13) + chr(10), and environment.newline.If I copy the the text from the textbox into wordpad I dont get that problem.

Apr 13, 2012Problem drawing dotted path lines, with even dots along the path line.I want to draw a path line that can be any shape (square, round, outline etc), and along this path line I want even dots to appear.
I also want to be able to resize the shape (as in the example attached)This is very easy to do using "DrawPath" and defining points for the path and using a pen defined as dots.The problem I have is I want the dots to be evenly placed along the path, on any shape or size I draw.In the example I have created, I create a square with 4 points and draw a dotted path.There are 2 buttons that allows me to resize the square (larger or smaller) this helps show the problem more clearly.
The path starts at the top left corner and finishes back at the top left corner, the dots are evenly placed along the path, except the final dots at the end of the path. (Sometimes the dots are even and other times they are not even).The shapes I want to draw can be any size and any shape, but I have used a square in this example to show the problem I have. point me in the direction I need to go that allows me to draw the dots and give the impression that they are even all along the path, for all shapes and sizes.
In the pictures below if you change the size of the shape, one will have even looking dots, the other will not.

VS 2010 Can't Access Files Below Root When Using Process To Run A Command Line Program
Feb 4, 2011I am trying to create a program that downloads audio files via FTP, converts the audio to mp2 if necessary and copies them to a certain directory for consumption by our automation system. (I am a radio station engineer.)I am using the open source converter FFMpeg to convert audio files to mp2. This is a command line exectuted program. Here is the command line that I use to execute the external program with the input and output audio files at the root level: cmd.exe /k ""C:New Folderffmpeg.exe" -i "C:Test.mp3" -y "C:Test.mp2"" This command line works correctly whether I am using Shell() or System.Diagnostics.Process (Process) to execute the external program. I am going the Process route so I can know when the conversion has finished.Now, I really don't want to use the root directory for this but when I go below root with this line using Process the external program will not execute:[code]Can anyone tell me why that line will not work with Process though it works as expected with Shell()? I can't figure out how to stop the external program to get some feedback as to what its problem is.

May 7, 2010I was working on my project (creating a new form), and when I switched from the code view back to the designer view, I got the following error:
The designer cannot process the code at line 118: Me.VDARSQLDATASET = New Veterinary_Digital_Anesthesia_Records.VDARSQLDATASET() The code within the method 'InitializeComponent' is generated by the designer and should not be manually modified. Please remove any changes and try opening the designer again.I am now getting this error on every page. This project has been working for months just fine, but for some reason the VDARSQLDATASET has dissapeared- kind of. I can still access the dataset (the file is still there), I just can't reference it in the code (intellisense can't find it).
