have a combo box that is bound to a table in my database.When I start the form up the value in the combo defaults to the first row in the table which is "Yes" how can I have it display Select... until a value has actually been selected.

I would like to print an HTML file that I am generating myself, but I want the pages to have the same table header at the start of each page. I think the best options to print an HTML file is the webbrowser control? but this won't give the table header at the start of each page (and I will have to contend with the ugly file://c:empfile.htm at the top of each page etc)

How can I get my application to load the Sub Main at the start rather than loading a form on start up.
I have tried declaring 'Public Sub Main' on my forms and in some modules, yet in my project properties, it is not one of the options.
I have two tables that can't be changed. One contains Stock codes / country codes, the other has country code / description for each code. I have a combobox with all the country descriptions that can be added to the stock code table. my problems is i can't figure out how to get the selected Country description to get the right country code and add that too the Stock code table.

This is where I call the code, in the procedure code of the application
cmdIns.Parameters.AddWithValue("@DELAY_CAUSE_1", glbDelayCause1)
and this is the parameter that I am calling.For some reason this method does not work. I get an error saying that it expects a parameter @DELAY_CAUSE_1 which is not supplied. I check my procedure code and everything is matching up. Am I missing something here? Sorry that I haven't provided more into but the short question is how do I add the value of a combobox that has been selected? I just want to enter the number of the value selected into the table. But the combobox list will display the string.

Why can't I declare values for an array inside a module?
View 2 RepliesSo I have an .aspx page loading up and populating drop downs based on a lookup table in the database. What we want is for the user to be able to configure which of these values comes defaulted by specifying that value in a drop down somewhere else in the app. Now, it's easy to default the "first" value, or something like that, but we want this to act differently. Is there a JavaScript function that can run immediately after onLoad (so the drop downs are populated already), that can go through the drop down and make one of those default so it looks like the page is loading with that set as default and people don't realize the workaround? (weird masking, etc.)

View 3 RepliesI have the following query that executes when my form loads. It's the rowsource for my combo box. The query is fine and populates the combo perfect, however, when i click into the combo box I cannot click out of it or even close the form. I have tried taking out the line of code that fills the form via table adapter on load and it works fine (opening the form unbound by the main table). Has anyone run into this before? I have another combo box on the form setup the exact same way and this is not happening. I've experimented with different datatypes etc....

VS 2010 is rather annoying in that its sub windows always seem to be moving about and I have to put them back where they belong. It seems that I've completely lost one window now however- its the one that should go below solution explorer/to the right of the error reporter where all the information for the highlighted entry is displayed. How do I get this back/restore defaults of the way things are displayed?

In this mode the application start minimized and an little icon appear in the notification icon area. With this icon you can maximize the app or exit it.If you exit the app and start it again using the Menu (Start/programs etc) than the application start in minimized mode (and in this case I would like to have it in normal mode) because the setting autostart is still true.Is there a way you can detect when the application start when windows startup using the above registry or when people click on an icon in the programs menu (or desktop)?

View 19 RepliesVisual studio 2005 - vb.net..I have a user control on a form containing 15 combo boxes.All contain Y, N, and blank (for Yes, No, or blank) in the Items Collection property.Each of the combo boxes have a binding source to the same table, different fields.When you select a value Y, N, or blank for any of the fields and do a save, the values save while the application is open.Once you close and reopen, the values are gone.It appears the dataset does not recognize the change, so the values are not getting stored in the database table. Is there something I can do or put in one of the events that would identify this as a change.

My next task is to populate the phone number (MaskedTextBox) and phone number type (ComboBox) when the cursor has lost focus from a ComboBox that has auto complete functionality. I have tried to do it and when the cursor leaves focus, the other controls are not populated. Nothing happens. I do not get any errors either. Screen shot attached for the form and I am also using a stored procedure to do this. There are two tables in question here. A client table that the name and phone number and then the second table that has the phone number type (cell, work, home, etc).There is an FK relationship between the two.
