Text In Textbox In Gray That Dissapears When The User Clicks In The Textbox?

I want a text in my textbox in gray that dissapears when the user clicks in the textbox.I am not sure if that is a good enough explanaition so here is an example:You often have search boxes on websites or application.In the searchbox there often is a text like "search", "keyword", "type here".As soon as you click with your mouse inside the textbox it dissapears.I could make this in code but I was wondering if there already is a textbox property for this?

I have been trying to figure out how to do this program for a few days. Is it possible to have a Textbox on a form that when the user inputs data, ( during Runtime )that data remains in the Textbox for good and the Textbox then becomes read only ? Is it also possible to make it so that the CD with the programme on, is in the PC when the programme is being used. Perhaps writing the Textbox data back onto the CD ?

I have an application that allows the user to define text in a rich textbox. I would like to give the user the ability to define text for one or more languages. I don't think this will be a problem using the rich textbox as it allows for unicode characters and DBCS (please let me know if this is incorrect). My question is, I display this text throughout the app in other controls as well, such as a listbox, label, etc. by acquiring the RTF's Text property (plain text). Are there problems with other controls displaying unicode/DBCS characters? I realize that I may have to toggle the font of the control in question depending on the language (I will allow the user to specify a default font per language).

I started learning visual basic a while back but stopped, now I am trying all over. I created this very basic windows form application. What I am trying to do is add a greeting based on the time of day. i have 4 text box how can i display a messagebox that will prompt the user if theres any duplicate text on the four Textbox. Main idea: i just want everything that the user typed in each 4 textbox to be unique."i tried coding at the textbox that if the text box is change, that if theres another textbox with the same data i typed a messagebox will prompt. almost does it but, since i added a diaglogresult code that if i click yes the text box with the code will be change to a null object.. but since the other text box are null objects the messagebox will prompt me again..

I am working on a Text editor. The problem I have come to, is that when a user clicks a button, I want all the text to be displayed on one line. The reason for this is I am having problems being able to upload CSV email files on a website I am working on, because the format isn't like email, email, email, email. Instead it is like

If my Category and Forum selection is incorrect I am sorry and feel free to move it. I'd like to have the users input in the message box that will show. For example: There is a textbox and the user puts in their name as Bob. Then the message box would be: What my main goal is, is being able to include the users input they type inside the textbox inside the message box.

First off, I'm using Visual Basic 2010. I've done pretty well with starting out with some basic things. Copying some codes from tutorials to learn what each code does. But lately I've been venturing into possibilities of ideas in my head, and the recent idea is very simple, but I'm not sure how to approach it.
I have a main form that has options to open up other forms. And in one of those other forms, I want to make it so that you can enter text into a textbox, then click a button to "save" the textbox's content so that anytime the program starts, that previously saved content of the textbox will be the same.
And on top of that, I want to relate the textbox back to the code in the main form.
If I didn't explain that well enough, I'm working on making an extremely basic web-browser (a big jump from what I've been doing), and I added the option under a menustrip to open up Form5 to change the home-page.

Is there a way to find out if the "TextChanged" event is fired because the user is typing into a textbox or the programmer called myTextBox.Text = "something"? I don't want to react when the user is typing each letter into the textbox so I am using the "Validated" event to catch when the user is done so I can react. The problem is I don't have a way to catch when the programmer does "myTextbox.Text = "something". The only way I know to catch changes there is to use TextChanged but then I don't want to be reacting when the user is typing each letter into the textbox.
