I'm stuck on this idea of using a TableLayoutPanel to track my click and then plot a dot where I clicked. I got this idea by walking through the Match Game tutorial.I real don't want 2300 Labels to create on my 23 x 100 cell Grid. Can I just track the location x,y of all mouse click and plot a dot where I clicked?
View 2 RepliesI'm in the process of developing an application to keep track of employee's shifts. the top of the grid should display the days, the left side the employee name. The grid will display the type of shift (N for night, D for day) I just need some direction as to how to develop the calendar grid...I have a database with all the required information (I have a "Shifts" table, which contains the employee name, the date of shift, and the type of shift). Times are not relevant since employees will be either working a night or day shift (type of shift). I'm using VB9 for this project.

My grid double click works, but when it repaints with the new data, a single click fires the double click. I have no code in place to handle a single click .
The interesting thing is that it is (in my case) a toggle. If I double click, on the repaint, a single click fires the double click code. When it repaints again, I need a double click .
The double click code fires off a messagebox - if I tell it not to continue, then I have to double click to get it to fire again. So it is not dependant on what data is displayed.

I am trying to automate with Coded UI . Now it runs fine but when an abrupt modal window / exception window appears , it halts and tries to act on it but this was not part of recording. I want to track when this modal window appears and then kill the AUT [ application that is being automated upon ].This will at-least prevent users from watching screen w/o any progress.

View 2 RepliesWhen we left click a grid cell, or list item, it highlights. Left click outside it and the selection jumps to the new place.
I can RIGHT click anywhere in the grid without disturbing an existing highlight, but I want it to work more like windows explorer would in terms of file selection..
i.e. if I right click inside the range, the range stays, if I right click outside the range, the range moves to a new single cell that I just right flicked.
Try it now on this page. Select some text, right click on the selection and it stays. Right click outside the selection and it goes. In datagrid (for example), the selection can only be modified with a left click.
How can we change this so the selection behaviour of a datagrid/list is more like this text pane?
On a related note. If I left click in a textbox I can drag a selection out. If i wanted to right click and drag the selection out, would it be the same process? (It's for a custom string manipulation picker control..)

View 2 RepliesI have a asp grid with a few columns that bind to data. The last column has been converted to a template-field. In this template-field is a button with a modal popup extender attached to it. Hidden inside this field is a modal popup. This modal popup is used to add a new account. it contains 2 text boxes, drop down lists and buttons("Add" and "Cancel"). When "add" is clicked the modal should close after the inserting of the new account in the code behind.
The Problem: I get the popup to display and load the Drop down lists from the cache, without problem. How do I get the button click event to fire in the code behind. I've tried using a JavaScript function that performs a _doPostBack('btnAddAcc','') but it keeps returning the error "JavaScript error: Object expected". I gathered after about 1 hour on Google that it is because "btnAddAcc' is not found because it is actually within the grid-view cell and can't be directly accessed. Using page methods and ajax calls is a last resort as the company has a strict policy against this and only allowes this after a bunch of paperwork.

I'm having a problem with my DataGridView. When I double-click on any column, with exception to Date & Time, the grid advances by 1. As you can see the 2nd row is highlighted in blue, I actually double-clicked on the first one, under "Sent By." (See attached image)
