Use Keydown To Move My Window Around But It Moves, Then Pauses, Then Starts Moving Again?

I know that keypresses tend to have this behaviour naturally in Windows, but when you first press down a key there's a short pause. I'm trying to use Keydown to move my Window around but it moves, then pauses, then starts moving again. Is there some way to get rid of the pause without disabling it in Windows?
My timer pauses (sort of the display portion (label) of the timer indeed pauses, however when the timer is resumed it starts again, but not at the point where it was disabled. As an example. If I pause the timer at 10:00 and wait ten seconds when I hit resume it starts at 09:50, where it should resume at 10:00 or 09:59

I have a picturebox set to move when the arrow keys are pressed. How do I prevent it from continously moving if the arrow key is HELD DOWN. I want to make it so the user has to press the key each time manually to move the picturebox.
if I press F1 on another program like, internet explorer, it will open music. When I press F1 on my Windows Form(My program), It work fine and it play my music but when i'm on internet explorer or anything else it doesn't work and I am wondering if I can.
I am currently working on a launcher, and it must consist of the following:
- one main routine being called, NO WINDOW may be created at any times after or before this main routine. - one small form called by the main routine if a certain command was sent through the Command (shortcut).
At this point I use a Windows Form, but it seems a little useless to create and initialize a form if you won't even use it. Any way to make a routine run when my program starts without showing any window? But still make it possible to show that small dialog?
I did this at first but it seems a bit dangerous:

It starts another program (process) which has a GUI, so I do not want to display a console window.
I'm doing a maze using VB10. its about moving a PictureBox between LineShape lines using buttons to move it. the problem is, can I make the picture not to move through the LineShape? if so how? or should I use something else other than the LineShape and another question can i save the progress of the maze and come back to it later? if so does it require using a database to save the location of the PictureBox?

I have an application (written in VB.net 2008) which reads a text file. Parses the record and uses the second field (a UK postcode) to match an Access database (SQL - Select * from Table1 ......), then writes a text file back out with the original input postcode plus several fields taken from the access database.
I have 3 counts happening during the process, records read, postcodes matched and postcodes not matched. I move these values to labels on the form, then every 50 records read, I refresh the form (me.refresh) to update the labels (showing the end user where the process is upto).When running, if I drag the window around the screen, or minimize then maximize, or click off the window to another window, the application seems to freeze and the counter labels do not refresh.
I have a huge problem. The Formborderstyle of the form is None but I need to move the window just like if it had one. You know drag the form somewhere else.

I am building a web crawler in .Net which executes approx 500 httpwebrequests at a time. Everything runs fine but the problem arise at some points; Looks like garbage collection thread takes over the whole application pause for a few seconds. Is there anyway that reduce the delay generated by GC.
I am building an app. that needs some input from the user, the user will have to move a (selected textbox) by clicking a button. The TextBox will have to move 20 points down or up from corent location by clicking a button.
I have a strange problem on one machine that my VB.Net (.NET 3.5 - VS2008) app is running on, it runs a custom sized Powerpoint presentation in an IE control within my VB app. However, on one of the machines my app is installed on, the presentation always pauses on slide 2.
This is a kiosk type app, where there is no user interactivity. On all the other machines running this software, there is no problem. So it must be something related to the machine itself.
The PC is an XP Pro machine and was originally running IE6, which displayed the problem, I ugraded it to IE8 to see if this would fix it, but the problem persists. The machine is running Powerpoint 2003 (don't recommend upgrading the machines OS/Software- this is out of the question, as it is a business spec machine - even getting IE8 installed was a battle!)
The presentation itself has no complexity, all 15 slides are basic text and photos, no animation, no video etc. As far as I can tell, the problem is nothing to do with my software, or the Powerpoint slideshow, as this operates fine on similar machines and reinstalls made no difference, it must be a problem with the machine/installation itself. I've tried running the slideshow on the problem machine, in PowerPoint itself, rather than in my app, and it runs fine. I've also tried running it in an IE window, without running it through my app, and again, it seems fine.
Is there any way in c# or VB to automatically move the controls in a panel when the window is resized. I do not want the Anchor property, which only resizes the control. THe use is that controls are added at runtime to the form, and when the locations/values are loaded on a computer with a larger monitor, they are in the incorrect positions.
What I am doing is making a Media Player, but I am making it to be some sort like BS Player.
The Video part of the player is on its own with no border and then there is going to be a separate Form for the controls. (I might need help with that later) But the first thing that I have to do is make the window movable and re-sizable by dragging the Media Player (WMP). WMP is taking up the whole screen of the Form so there is no where to click on the original Form. If possible, I would like it to show contents while dragging, ignoring the Windows Appearance and Performance. If that can't be done or is to much work, I will settle for just the border of the Form being showed while moved.
For re-sizing, the media player has to stay the same size as the form, but it also has to stay the same Ratio of the video. So as long as I can specify the current height and width of the window and also get then get the width while the window is being re-sized, I can get the height that the window needs to be by using this formula.
Window.y / Window.x * Sized Window.x = New Window.y .
I know that may sound complicated or maybe I am making it harder then it actually is, this is just how I know how to do it. I will explain what each variable in the Formula means.
Window.y is the current height of the window
Window.x is the current width of the window
Sized Window.x is the width of the window while it is being re-sized
New Window.y is the final height for the new size of the window

But while debugging (and "Address" field is left empty), the program breaks and I get an exception at the "Throw New Exception" line even if the error should be trapped by the "Try...Catch" block. At runtime, everything works well and the correct error is displayed.
How do I make a picture box follow a designated pathway. I have made a game where I have several picture boxes that follow each other. and want on of the trails to be able to do its own course. I have noticed that picturebox.left = picturebox.left + 10 works only for going left but picturebox.right = picturebox.right + 10 it saids read only. so I tried doing minus 10, though i don't know a condition how to do it. like how do it make it turn around when it's 10 from the boarder?
I want to make a game where the playing pieces can move around. When I click on a playing piece it shows all available moves were I can go like this:
Red represents legal moves and dark gray represents a wall.
I have created a grid and buttons in it. When I click on a button, I subtract or add the available step count to the button index in the grid. For example if my piece can move 3 places, I subtract 3 from the index of the button and get the available position to the left of the piece. Then I do the same for all other directions. It looks something like this:

Using this method it is very slow and cumbersome to get all available moves and not intuitive to get top and bottom moves. Also if there is a wall in the way and behind there's a available spot it shows that I can move to it.
I am trying to insert a character at the end of a textbox string. The character gets inserted ok but the cursor moves to the beginning at the text. Is there someting I am doing to cause this.
How do you make a program that moves your cursor to a selected color? So you start the program and then the cursor will auto move to the color red (if that is signified).
