its works well.. but then not everyone CD rom drive is the same,anyway to do it as open the file without concerning the cd rom path??
Well im making a program that will Add the Safe File Name of the File opened in the Open File Dialog to the first column of the listview and the File name and path to the second. What i want it so when i double click on the Safe file name it will open the file specified in the path in the second column.i already got the add file to it.

I am using VB Express 2008 on Windows 7 (I have already figured out the 32bit to 64bit problem while working with access databases). This path is generated from code on another form. Is there a way to write a list of all paths and file names of currently open files. The best I can do is use the System.Diagnostics.Process class to grab the processes of the applications in which I am interested and then get the file name from the main window title for each process. There is no way to get the path for these files, however, with this approach.

Currently I am setting the destination path using the Adobe PDF preferences which works fine, however if I change the path in my program I have to go back to the Adobe printer and manually set the new path. Basically I need to open a website and navigate through it (Automatically through the program obviously), enter a batch ID and enter a file path and name. For some reason when I get to the part where I need to enter the file name and path, it simply will not populate the text. I have attached a word document with screenshots and code. The only difference I can see, is that in the bank website's code the the input type for the file text is "FILE" rather than "TEXT" as it is for the batch id...

I couldn't find an appropriate forum which would suit the type of problem I am facing so I am putting it here.I needed to create an intranet web application that has pages with hyperlinks to eml files. The eml files as is known are email files in MIME format which outlook express can open. However what I found was if eml files are on your machine, it opens in outlook express but when opened as an hyperlink, it opens in Internet Explorer (IE) as an mhtml file. And any attachments that may be in the eml file are not displayed at all!I didn't understand why IE has to poke inbetween. After searching the net, I came across a solution that required changes in the Registry of the client machine.The change is to be made to the node HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTMIMEDatabaseContent Typemessage/rfc822.The following is a REG file that can be imported for this change.[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTMIMEDatabaseContent ypemessage/rfc822]"extension"=".eml""CLSID"=""However after this change, though eml files opened in Outlook express, MHT files stopped opening in IE.Then I simply deleted the rfc822 node and to my surprise, MHT files opened in IE and eml files opened in outlook express and everything was fine!!But I don't want to use this sledge hammer solution. I want to know what this registry key is for and how can I set it to achieve what I want . i.e. open eml files from web pages in outlook express without affecting other file types

However, there is one problem with it... whenever I open a file and change stuff, then close it without saving the changes, the events still fire. I am opening excel workbooks in code, then use xlsWB.Close(SaveChanges:=False) to close them, and the event still fires, where the file isn't really changed so it should not fire.

I am trying to read and display a file using MapPath as follows :

This procedure will work fine and display in the browser. However, if I save the file to C:Document123.pdf, how can I access this file using relative path in MapPath function. Is there an option to access the file which is saved out of IIS server? I am using vb.net 2003.
I'm using acrobat that returns unix paths instead of windows path's. So im wondering if there is a way in vb.net to convert the path to windows path.
i tried using:
