Use Data From Dataset In Calculations?

I need a little guidance in the right direction to help with using data from a dataset in calculations. I've watched the "How Do I" Series and it was very helpful in setting up the relations and tables. I have setup a couple tables to hold values that won't
be updated and the user will never see. Lets say I have 5 columns, ColmnA to ColumnE, and the row count is variable. What I can't seem to find is an easy way to loop through using the variables. As an example, Lets say the equation would be outputted to a
textbox:
textbox1.text=row1(ColumnA*ColumnB+ColumnC^ColumnD-ColumnE)+row2(ColumnA*ColumnB+ColumnC^ColumnD-ColumnE)+etc to end of rowcount
Does anyone know if a good tutorial to point me in the right direction or a code snippet that may get me started to follow the logic? I'm using VS2010Express with a SQLExpress database if that helps.

I have a unbound datagridview which i use to enter data. I would like to make calculations using individual cell data as follows:-
Datagridview1.rows(0).cells(1).value = datagridview1.rows(1).cells(1).value + datagridview1.rows(1).cells(2).value
This works fine but if im using lots of cells it can be quite confusing .I was wondering if there was a way that i can give a cell a unique name so i can be easy for me to identify. Using the above example it could read TOTAL = JAN TOTAL + FEB TOTAL

I have to display all the digits of 2^90. This is within the reach of the Decimal format which can display up to 2^96-1. The Decimal format stops displaying after the 15th digit.The real answer for 2^90 is : 12 379 400 392 853 802 274 899 124 224 (29 digits)

I have a database that dynamically loads from Access into a datagridview. I have to enter data manually into one column in this datagridview. I need to be able to perform calculations to this data, for example I need to sum the data in this column, sqaure it and substract it from individual sqaures of the data in the cells. I should be able to sum it sum(22,33,44,53,67,23)^2-sum(22^2,33^2,...23^2). The number of columns keep changing depending on the database I choose to load, so I need to code this dynamically too. I am not really a VB person. I did the same in excel using Visual Basic and I am trying to do it in this Visual Basic environment.I built a tool in excel(VBA) that do some statistical calculations and data analysis and I am trying to build the same in Visual Basic.

Can I Post a Windows Application that uses Excel for live data calculations? Basically from the Windows app, a user makes a menu selection and which in turn opens an excel file in memory using it for calculations. These files are put together by different groups and formatted for the Windows app to build interfaces based on each file.I also accompany an .mdf file as well. Is all this possible for customers to access and run this with Windows Azure.

I am using Streamreader to read a text file containing data such as the following:
IN;SC;PU;PU;SP1;LT;VS10
IN;SC;PU;PU;SP1;LT;VS10
PW5;PU4179,27448;PD4179,29951;PD3244,29951;PD3244,30286;PD5494,30286;PD5494,29951;PD4555,29951;PD4555,27448;PD4179,27448;
The final goal is to use the numbers next to the PU and PD characters to perform specific calculations.
Essentially, I think the code needs to do the following:
1. Read each block of characters ending in a ";"
2. If the block commences with anything other than PU or PD, discard it
3. Extract the numbers in such a way that calculations can be performed. The following is an example:

PD4179,29951;

Essentially, there will be hundreds of these rows and I will need to sum up the deltas so that a specific formula can be applied.
I have tried doing this a number of ways but each seem very inefficient (using text boxes to store/swap data and creating additinal text files are 2 methods I have tried) and so I'm looking for some direction.

Which is the most efficient and speedy data structure in order to carry out calculations on it?. I have seen, collections, arrays, list arrays, databases and more. I would prefer to write just straight forward code that will be effective and which I can still understand. What I would like to do initially is have the ability to add new draws to the end of the file, edit the individual files and delete lines if required.
File would then be reformatted to show the corrections made. Some kind of data entry window is envisioned. As far as number crunching goes, I would like to make counts of each number in each of the columns , calculating averages, times since last drawn and so on.
Without being too long winded, I would eventually like to find triple combinations and maybe use them as predictions. So there you have it. This way I won�t have to go off on the wrong path, on a data structure that may not be able, or be too slow for the tasks at hand.

I have tried everything I can to get beyond this error which shows below as <<<<< error here. It is trying to fill a dataset from a data adapter. If I change the SELECT statement to just SELECT * FROM xTable I get the correct number of records in each table. But anytime I try with a more complex statement I get the error message shown below which indicates System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.Fill(DataSet dataSet. I've completely erased all data and entered a new set of test data so I know there is no problem with relationships. Each table has primary key which is foreign key in other table. I have two Datagrids, One grid has all the customers garments on it with style number and contact length. The other grid has the users who have garment issued to them. the style number is in both grids. I need to loop through the users grid and say if the contract number is 1 from the first grid then the contract date on the second grid will be todays date + 365 days (year contract) I have looked at using a stored procedure and also a for each command but I am just getting stuck with it all. I have a situation where I serialized data from a dataset to an xml file as a method of backup.I am trying to get the data deserialized back to the dataset.But for some reason, I cannot get the data to persist back to the DB.I don't receive any error messages either.The first chunk of code is the serialization code and the second chunk is the deserialization code.I can show that the deserialization back to the dataset is complete because this code in the 2nd block DataGridView2.DataSource = Movie_dbDataSet.movie_tb - displays the data in correct form all it is all there in the datagridview2.I call the update method but it does not get persisted back to the db.[code]

I created a dataset in Visual Studio 2010 containing two tables: tblCategories and tblAnswers. tblCategories has two columns: CategoryNumber (AutoNumber and primary key) and CategoryName. tblAnswers has three columns: AnswerNumber (AutoNumber and primary key), Answer, and CategoryNumber. The CategoryNumber columns in each table are related. I have a command button which I want to use to add a record to the CategoryName column in tblCategories with the data typed in a textbox. When I try to access the dataset to add a new row(dataset.tblCategoriesDataTable.NewRow), the NewRow method isn't present. I've done some reading which suggests that I need a TableAdapter, but it seems like that is for connecting to an external file because I have to select a connection. I have no external SQL files or database. I want the user to be able to create a database within my program.

I have added a DataSet to connect with my SQLDatabase. Test Query displays correct values but when I programmatically try to display the value of a certain field using following code

How do you plot data from a dataset or datatable. I have loaded a dataset with data from the database and now cannot do the plotting. When I tried: myChart.dataContext=ds("myTable").defaultView, no chart shows. If I replace: dataContext with: dataSource, I get an error. I am using WPF not Windows Forms.

I need to copy all data from a Table of a Acces mdb (connected with OleDB) to a Table of a MySql DB (connected with ODBC)
I made a working solution, but it's very slow, and so I want to try other solutions to check if they can give me more performance.
The solution connecting to the mdb, using a DataReader, then for each row in Datareader I make an INSERT into the Mysql Table ( before copy I truncate the table to get it empty)
The records are more than 10K and this operation is very slow, and do be onest I need to do the same thing on other 2 tables also very big as this one.
I cannot make a direct sql insert ( as INSERT INTO A in ..... SELECT * FROM B) because the 1 DB has a OleDB conn and the other has a ODBC conn.
So I thought to try to make this operation using TableAdapters and DataSet, but I'm not able to make it working.
The problem is that the Dataset's HasChanges is false
If you need some code I can post, but what I do is following:
Connection to MDb
Create OleDbTableAdapter
Create DataSet

I have a very simple DataSet linked to a ListBox. I need the User to be able to add Data and have used the following code (in a ToolStrip command button):

This seems to work ok - the new Data immediately appears in the ListBox. However, as soon as I close the form all of the Data in the DataSet is lost.

I have a database with a Student table and a Class table. There are many students and many classes and each student is a member of a class.I then have a windows form that needs to display a list of student names in a listbox. However, I have a different form for each class. So for example in this form I have coded below, I need to display all students that are members of class51. The code I have so far is reading in all students from tblStudent and this is not what I want. I know that if I was doing SQL or something I'd simply write SELECT * FROM TBLSTUDENT WHERE CLASSID =his?

At moment iam getting information back by fireing a command to an API function of a program (http) after that it gives me databack and i transfer that data in a dataset. so far so good its working great.

i know the rows got names inside the DS one is ID NAME and TYPE
