how do I customize my Datareport? I want to group my data based on field value.This are my table fields;
SubCode, Description, Units, Grade, Year, Semester
I want to group records based on the Year value. There should be a different table for records whose Year = 1st Year, 2nd year, 3rd Year etc... (Guys this is in printing, OK?)
I have combobox for year and combobox for month concatenated to make the date format "2012-01" My db field is RecordDate and is smallDateTime In my select statement im trying to use the left function to find match my concatenated string to the RecordDate field.Here is my code, hopefully someone can help me. I am a Newbie using SQL server and vb.net in VS2010. I am re-writing an existing application which is written in an old programming language. I have a table with invoice records waiting to be assigned an invoice number and invoice date. I have two ways of updating these records , the first way is the user manually selects which records/rows to be updated for a specific customer account number. This all works fine.
I am trying to write a stored proc which goes through all un-invoiced records (i.e., invoice number = blank) , it is to group records/rows by account number and assign next invoice number (which I already have astroed proc to fetch) and then when the account number changes to move onto the next batch of records for the next account.
I am displaying Access database records on my form and need to be able to printpreview only the first 3 records of the database and have no idea how to code this at all. Also the printpreview is has to be on a separate form than the displayed records.

How do I get only the currently logged in user's groups to show up under the MarketingCo_DropDownList. Each user allowed access to the system will have membership in at least one of the marketing groups as defined by the web.config. For example, a user that is currently logged in and belongs to the BIG group under location "algACOMP_user_BIG", will only be able to see BIG in the Marketing Company drop down list. A user that is currently logged in and belongs to the NIS group located under "algACOMP_user_NIS" will only be able to see NIS in the Marketing Company drop down list.

I want to enable a photo in the upper right section of a Windows Form, but I can't figure out the way to set a photo to visible when one of the tab pages is selected.Right now I have it set up as a visible = true when the tab page is clicked (the tab page itself not the tab button). What I want it to do is become visible when the tab button is clicked.
If this is still confusing I can expand more. Not sure what more you need.
Edit: I'm trying to do it without placing the photo within the tab page.

If I use a normal JOIN then I get a list of friends for every separate product. I just want the two lists once.
The output lists with '-' need not be table cells, they can be <ul>s.
How can I achieve this? I would like to bind to ASP.net GridView. Should I try to do it all in one query, or use multiple queries and somehow add them both to the same Grid?
Each row actually forms part of a long report. Essentially each row of the report contains Customer ID, a bunch of other fields which match one-to-one with Customer ID, then the two lists for each Customer ID I described. Perhaps I can use a separate query for each list, then manually add each list to the grid on RowDataBound or similar?
