Nov 21, 2011I created the upload page using with FileUpload server control. And I used regular expression validator to validate file extension.

Mar 2, 2009i want to develop registration form that asks, username, password and curriculum vitae(cv) file. the third column will store files that are uploaded by clients. user can edit their CV by logging using their username and password. so my question goes here. is that possible to upload the file into database? is there any drawback to upload files into database? and is that possible to send the username and password to a table, and the file into a folder so that user can edit their CV using their username and password, is there a means to connect them?

Sql Server - HTTPHandler For Uploading Files Using Plupload
Apr 12, 2012I have built working VB.net code that uploads multiple images to the server using Plupload. I am using an HTTPHandler (FileUpload.ashx) to do the uplading and want to add a SQL Statement that will insert each of the images File Names to my SQL Database. I have tried just adding the SQL to the Handler, but when I do I get 4 database entries for each iamge that is uploaded.

I am not using with cmdinsertattachment. I am using Html - Input(File) from the HTML toolbox. the ID of the input file is ID="upldimg". So how do I insert this into my table which is -
Column1 ID identity
Column2 Img image
Column 3 Description varchar(200).
The insert statement like -

Do I do upldimg.text in the insert statement?
Unspecified Error When Uploading Site To Server
Jul 9, 2009I developed a site it works well at localhost (IIS) but the problem is that when I upload it to the server it works for some time, for some entries & gives the error and after this error, it appears to all pages. The errors are
1. "Unspecified error"
2. Error in web.config (attaching the error image) though I fix it.
I do not understand why it appears / displaying the error using the MS Access as database.

Apr 19, 2012I'm writing it again, i'm developing an app in which user click a picture through image and image will be stored in sdcard then I have choose the picture from image view and send that picture to the server. I have convert my image into the byte array and then encoded it in Base64 string format but when i try to send that image to the server it give me an error of soap fault. Jul 30, 2011I am trying to add multiple files to FTP server by dragging and dropping and I am able to do that using try catch block and if we give the ftp settings correctly it takes 1 sec to upload them but when we give wrong details it hangs up and dosen't give me any error message though If I give an exceptional message.
Now I am getting error message as well as success message for every file I add.I do not want that to be happen.where should I give messages for success and failure so that it should take few seconds for uploading and if not should give me a message immediately.

A web based application then takes the distribution list and sends emails. I'd like to validate that the email is valid before sending an email from the application.

I use this code to send an email through gmail account but the thing I want to do is, I want to check whether the given email and password exists or not and if it exists then pop out a text box with the body of the mail and type the text and then send it as a mail. But in the above code you have to log in and type body and when you send the mail , It verifies for the email and password while sending and if anything goes wrong says there is no such gmail account.but i want to check it whether the email and password exists or not, when the user enters the email and password at the beginning itself.So that he enters the right email to log on to compose a mail.Is there any way to check whether the given email and password is correct at the beginning only ?

Jun 22, 2011I have (using some examples) created a program which reads from a file, encrypts the content and writes it to a new file. The file can then be reopened in the program and decrypted.Now I am trying to adapt the program to split the file into pieces as specified by the user whilst it is been written to the hard drive. This also works, but when the files are read and decrypted the original file seems to be corrupted. I have been testing it using a JPG which turns out viewable, but is distorted. However the filesize is the same as the orignal after the encryption/decryption process. [code]

Sep 28, 2011I have a function on my program that allows a user to load a listbox filled with words that are matched with words inside a databank. The databank is filled with 2 string arrays and file of .jpg Pictures. The Arrays attached to each word inside the listbox are approximately one page. Each page is two paragraphs of Text(string Array) and one Picture(20Kbytes).My problem is this. When the user selects the option print all, the listbox with approximately 10255 words is selected and begins to fill a Microsoft Word Document.Because the alotted amount of space needed for the MS Word Document is approximately 5 Gbytes,I need to open about 10 Documents and insert the String Array's and Pictures into each document one at a time.Is there anyway to check the filesize of the Open Document before saving the document.This way I could check the open document inside the algorithm for 512 Mbytes of memory and save the document before the size gets above 512 Mbytes.[code]

I am on .NET 4.0, C#, and windows XP.I found a "HttpServerUtility.MapPath", but I don't know if this is the equivalent for IIS7?

Uploading To FTP Failing Sometimes?
Apr 28, 2011I am using My.Computer.Network.UploadFile(arg1,arg2,username,pass) & sometimes it returns an error to me about not being logged in?I keep using IE & such to visit the ftp'd pages & even login & logoff the ftp site server at times, but seemingly randomly it will fail, even if I use try catch statement, it seems to keep wanting to fail till i go back to IE & go to a webpage on the server or log back in to the account management through IE.
Should it not be authenticating & working correctly each & every time regardless unless the server can't be reached? Why is it wanting to fail SOMETIMES when closing these webpages/logging out on IE only, why is this seeming to have any bearing on this failing in VB.

However, when I attempt to upload a file to the "Public" folder, I get an error stating: "Couldn't retrieve child elements from the server".I have followed the steps on page 10-11 of the documentation pdf and here is the code I am currently using (as a test I am trying to upload the token.txt file):

EDIT: However, I just realised that you cannot share files within the apps folder (that GetRoot points to), so therefore the problem is still occurring for me.
EDIT 2: I think the problem is due to permissions when creating your app on dropbox. When you first create the app, there is the option to grant access to either the "Apps" folder, or the entire users' dropbox. I was getting the error then I created a new app that requested access to the entire users' dropbox and was then able to get at the public folder.
