Way To Sort A Table But Couldn't Get Code Working

I've tried google a way to sort a table but couldn't get my code working.My program lets the user input enter information such as first name and last name in textboxes, once done they click on update button(so far everything works).On the top right of the form it has a Combobox and it displays a list of all the names of poeple the User inputed... but it shows it in the order the user inputed.I want to have a sort button so that way when the user clicks on "sort" it will alphabetically sort the msql table by last name and reupdate that on the Combobox (most importantly save msql with the new order of names)

I'm trying to sort a ListView and have it working.. but was trying something.. and was curious why it doesn't appear to work..
In a gridview, the sorting event you can do a

This is my first time posting here although I have been lurking for quite some time. I'm stuck with a problem I have seen before and never solved: I have a long list (~23,000) of alphanumeric strings that I'm reading into a List(of String) from a text file, and then sorting. When I iterate through the list after sorting, it appears to be correctly sorted EXCEPT that the element that was originally at the beginning of the list is now at the end (and it should be somewhere in the middle after the sort)Here is a sample input:

I have a slightly odd problem that I think is most likely due to an act of foolishness on my part, but for the life of me I (and other members of my team) can't see it.I have an object that contains a generic list property which I would like to sort. I have written a comparer class to do this for me and I am calling it in the following way:baseObject.ListOfThings.Sort(new ThingComparer()I have debugged into my compare function and it is returning the right values.However After the sort call, the list remains unchanged. Have I missed something obvious, or is there something else I need to do.EDIT: Yes I was being a fool, and the property returning a list was recreating it from scratch each time it was accessed

this code was not done by me originally and there are some thigns here i dont quite understand i have altered it a bit from my coworkers code to suit my data and it works. but too slow. and when i have 4000+kb excel files it might freeze altogether. ( I have checked tho that when and after this transposer runs it will still be within the excel row limit, i had done calculations before and made a macro to automatically split excel files based on number of columns and rows to make sure this is so ). This code seems to start out fast then goes slower the longer it runs. at least this is what it seems liek to me.

I am doing a media player, based on WMP's controls..And i am trying to fix a progressbar that is working as a sort of a counter that show's where the music count is.And also what the name of the song is.and also trying to make all the songs would show without extension and the whole C:\music\mysong.mp3 instead having mysong.mp3

I'm working with datagridview.I found an example on the web about creating a datagridview: firs I make my array containing data, then I make a datatable from array, then I make datagridview from datatable.I don't know if it's the correct way but it seems work.In a column I make random numbers for test: for example I have on column "Time" these values: 1155, 1725, 584, 996, 1352.Then I try to sort with code when I press pushbutton: it doesn't work because I have the values:1155, 1352, 1725, 1758 (until now it seems to work correctly), but then I have 584 and 996 values: wrong!Ok, let's try with the manual sorting: same result.I filled cells with "integer" values, let's try using strings, then I used "value.tostring" same result.I also tryed to fill strings with blankspaces to obtain same length, but nothing changed. "1155", "1352", "1725", "1758", " 584", " 996".Then I tryed to fill with "0" values:"1155", "1352", "1725", "1758", "0584", "0996".The same.How can I fill cells values?

How to find row position after table sort? Datagrid is binded to ds1.sometable. I have DataRow object or DataRowView from cm.Current and position before sort (cm.position or dg.CurrentRowIndex) but how to find where is its position to navigate DataGrid to select row after I re-sort datagrid?

I am currently building a table by retrieving a number and a name from an XML document and dynamically building a table. Currently, the table is built and you can check a box to choose whether or not you want to randomize the numbers that correspond to the name. I need to be able to check another box to determine whether or not you want it ascending or descending order. I don't know how to do sorts on a Table Object. Do I have to read it into an Array first and then re-read them into the table?

i have a GridView bound to a DataView. Some columns in the DataView's table are foreignkeys to related tables(f.e. Customer). I want to enable sorting for these columns too, but all i can do is sorting the foreignkey(fiCustomer) and not the CustomerName.
I have tried this without success(" Cannot find column ERP_Customer.CustomerName "):

Still experimenting with datagrids and ran into another problem...I'd like to sort a column displayed in a datagrid bound to an Access table programmatically. I have a range in excel and I want to be able to sort it by one column programmatically.
There is range.sort, but it has a ridiculous about of parameters and I cannot get it to work.

I added a table to my Access database. I added that table to my dataset. Using Database Designer VB Studio, my table and tableadapter show up in the design view. The class definition is in the datasetdesigner.vb, and it shows in the object browser. But, I can't reference it in code. I am a newby and obviously missing somethning.

I have called a script in my .net code which creates a .csv file and writes into it. The file is created and the program is executed without errors but the created file has nothing written into it. I'm able to create and write into the file from .net. Also, when the script is run separetly writes into the file correctly but not when it is called from .net. what could be the reason...

As new to VB.Net, I am having an issue related to combo box searching functionality. In VB.NET, the multiple character typing searching is not happening in ComboBox when its style is "DropdownList" type. But in VB 6.0 it is working fine if we set "SORT" properties is "True"
I need full typing option activate for the combo box. say for I type India then it shoud select India..not the item starts with a as its the last character.

I couldn't find any taskbar button in the toolbar.Usually, when i minimize a button, it will be minimized to the toolbar and once you click the taskbar button, it can be enlarged.however, i couldn't find any taskbar button.Please could you raise some suggestions?any way of resolution without coding?
