VS 2008 Create An Interface Between A Third Party Application Which Can Make Use Of C/C++ DLLs
Nov 30, 2010I am trying to create an interface between a third party application which can make use of C/C++ DLLs, but no interface directly to .NET. What I was hoping to accomplish (not sure if possible though), is create a very basic C++ DLL (not .NET), which the third party application would call directly. This DLL would contain a basic method such as "DoSomething()". Somehow, from my .NET application, I want to "listen" to this DLL and "takeover" the DoSomething() method, and then returning the result back to the DLL, which will in turn return the result back to the calling third party application.
I don't even know if this is possible because I'm sure I would somehow have to get a hold of the memory space of the DLL as initiated by the third party application. Also, it seems that creating a managed DLL does not work, based on feedback from other individuals who have tried this.
VS 2008 - Create A Form With Radio Buttons - Text Boxes - Labels
Jun 22, 2009I need to create a form with radio buttons, text boxes, labels, etc.. This information needs to be pulled from a database. For instance, I have a form that displays information that needs to be inputed to a database, based on what test is being done for a specific product. Each product requires different tests. So each product may or may not have the same information that needs to be inputed..
What I have done is made a database and filled a table with each product and what tests apply. I then call that database after the product has been selected for the tests. It will then fill an array for that products information for what texts boxes and labels need to be shown. I wanna take this further and have it create a form through code and align all the controls to specific spots so that it will look nice. For example I wouldn't wanna create a control and have it be cut out of the form, or have other controls overlapping others.

VS 2008 Add Buttons To Panel, Button/tab References Create/destroy Entire Tabs/layouts?
Feb 18, 2010I need to know how to have a button on a tab to create another button on a second tab that contains a panel, with appropriate spacing, the same size as other buttons already present, and the name of the tab that generated this new button as the text on the newly created button. I.e. button1 on tab1 will create and place a new button on a panel in tab2 that already has a grid of buttons (maybe 3x10 buttons) which will be placed underneath a particular column with the text tab2 on the new button which can also refer back to that tab automatically. Hopefully we can get all this code under a single button event.
I also don't know how to have a button on tab1 that focuses on tab2, which sets the back button on tab2 with a reference to go back to tab1 in order to remain dynamic. I.e. clicking on tab1's button will go to tab2 and set the back button there with a link back to the tab it was referred from.
I'd also like to know if there's an easy way to create and destroy tabs with a specific layout. I.e. We have home tab, and comment tab. (This is for the sake of argument) On the comment tab1 (which contains all posted comments), we have a new comment button which creates a comment tab2 (or a dialog box for that matter) with appropriate textboxes, labels, and buttons in the right places which could also make use of the issues I posted above. So the new comment button on the comment tab1 will create either a new comment tab2 with appropriate objects, or a dialog box with the same, and then the submit button on this comment tab2 or box will create a new textfield/buttons on the panel containing the grid of buttons with the information provided in the fields from comment tab2/dialog box which is then destroyed.
I hope i haven't made the examples too confusing, but I can't figure out how to even make progress in these directions. Trying either fails completely, or semi-fails in getting these examples to function 100%.
I've already tried posting in other forums, but with no replies. Hopefully you all can help me figure this out.EDIT: This is not homework, I have scoured forums and google trying to find the answer to these problems. I'm hoping that because these are mainly VB based forums I can find some answers here.

I want to be able to drag and drop and place these as well as the HTML component wherever I need on the form. In VB6 I simply selected what I needed and placed it with ease. Can someone tell me what I need to do gain this simple freedom in vb.net

Fortran, COBOL, etc), but totally new to OOP and the "Visual" languages. Despite being a quick study, eloping a user interface to a USB-connected infrared remote control device. The UI's graphical element (a "virtual remote") will be a PHOTO of the IR remote control device supplied by my target-equipment's mfr, OVERLAYED with functional software control buttons in their respective positions. "Pressing" a button on the virtual remote will cause the USB device to emit the desired IR code sequence.

Oct 7, 2009My app allows the user to set a new button on a tabpage, move it and resize it. They will do this over a background image so the buttons line up with images in the background.Without the background image, the buttons move smoothly and quickly. With the image turned on, the buttons want to move sloooowly and they drag. I made up this code just to show the basic function of what I am trying to accomplish.

Interface And Graphics :: Special Characters In Multiple Text Boxes Via Buttons
Nov 14, 2008I need to be able to add (specific) special characters to text boxes. Problem is, there are five of them spread across two forms and three tabpages. What I'd like to do is bring up a form when the user presses something like "F2" while the text boxes are focused, then on that form would be a grid of buttons. When the user pushes a button, the character is added to the box. How do I get this form to reference the box that called it without passing a global variable or calling a public function? I tried Form3.Parent.Name, but that always seems to refer to nothing. Also, once this is done how can I get it to just insert a character where the cursor on the calling box is? It probably shouldn't even be on a form either since that will take the focus when it's called (which I don't want)

I imagine it's possible but I've only ever seen (here and elsewhere) turning an image into a button, or using a button with an image as the background. But never have I seen of turning areas of a single image into multiple click-able objects. I know HTML had a thing where you tag specific pixel ranges using (x, y) start and (x, y) end to make a smaller portion of the image work as a button but I can't remember anything like that for visual basic or .Net.

What I would like to do is to drag those picture boxes on the court at run time but when I drag them inside the court the images should not be moved instead they should only be copy inside the court. how do I do it?
