.Net 2008 Get The Table To Be Sorted When Filled?

I have a form and it is databound to a Access table with the standard TABLEADAPTER wizard. All works well HOWEVER, new records are not displayed in sorted order.When I add a new RECORD, it can go anywhere within the table. When I move around the table using the TABLEADAPTER Manager, the newly added record does not appear in sorted order.Furthermore, when I restart the application and show the form (which issued a FILL command), the records are not sorted.The SELECT I am using is fairly simple:
SELECT [list of fields] FROM TableXYZ ORDER By [sort field]
This HOWEVER, does not appear to work.get the table to be sorted when filled?Other information - the table in question has the field that is specified in the ORDER BY clause which is the same as the Primary Key.As an example, in the table there are records with the following KEY:
4313, 4314, 4315
When I insert a new record, it might fall between 4313 and 4314. Lets assume I add 9999. I expect it to be at the end of the list however, it appears between 4313 and 4314.FYI Also tried this in the code as well:
TableBindingSouce.Sort = "field1 ASC"

I have a DataGridView that is bound to a DataSet and I allow someone to remove a row from the table and I remove the row from the set. My code looks like this:
ds.Tables(0).Rows(dgCourseList.SelectedRows(0).Index).Delete()
My problem I found is if the grid gets sorted the index of the rows no longer corresponds to the indexes in the DataSet. As a result the wrong rows get removed from the set.
Can I solve this problem with maybe having to sort the DataSet on some sort event of the DataGridView?

How can I control what is filled into the table adapter at runtime? Basically, I have a table full of thousands of rows, and I want to limit this to just 1 row. I want to specify an ID number and be able to pull up that row in the table, and I need to do this at run time. What are my options, and what is the easiest way? I want to make sure the data is still linked to the original row in my database, that way the changes are saved properly.

I keep track of a score system for all users in a sorted list;
dim Scores as new sortedlist(of string, integer)
I can easely increse points for a cirtain person by;
scores("peter").value += 1
Now I need to display a top x list of the users, if users have the same score, it should sort alphabetically on the name. Of course it's also possible that users have the same score.I've already tried to make a new sorted list with as key the score, and added to that score the username. Later when displaying the scores, I've replaced the username with nothing. The only problem in this solution is that the numbers are sorted on asci value which has this order:
0
1
10
2
3
4
Also, if you make a sorted list like this:
dim Scores as new sortedlist(of integer, string)
You can't have two people with the same score... So, there must be something possible with the iComparer to sort on integers right?

If you enter "net users" in the command prompt all the local users on the pc appear. I want a textbox in my app, that if a user types in "kyle", and click the button, the first code I gave starts, and after "net users" the text in the textbox is there as well, so it will look like this:

I'm trying to read rows in a DataGridView and the following error is thrown up. The DataGridView was filled from an Excel Sheet with a column of currency. Ideally when the For Next loop finds a cell it doesn't like, I want to to ignore and resume the loop. The error message is: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

I am using a bindingsource to load data in datagridview. Some textboxes, comboboxes and a picture box are binded to the current item of the bindingsource. I have a datagridview named "DG" bound to a datatable. The grid has one column that requires me to determine its value, so the grid has the virtual mode property set to true.When i try to add using the dg.rows.add, i get a message saying 'operation not valid while in virtual mode'.If i set the virtual mode to false and execute the dg.rows.add line i get."Rows cannot be programatically added to the datagrid's rows collection when the control is databound"Ok....i cannot use rows.add when in virtual mode,.....and i cannot use rows.add when i am in data-bound mode.So then next thing i try is ctype(dg.datasource,datatable).rows.add , This gets the row into both the underlying table as well as the into a new row located at the bottom of the grid.
I try this: dg.sort(dg.columns("Row"),ascending) and get this "Operation is not supported when VirtualMode is set to true." i try seting virtual mode to false and get this: "Data-bound DataGridView control can only be sorted on data-bound columns."The column "Row" IS a column in the underlying table.If i click on the column header it sorts correctly.All i want to do is add arow and have it be located in the correct place in the sort order.

I have an XML configuration file to which I will occasionally add new elements and, for ease of reading outside of the application, I want to keep it sorted alphabetically - by the "key" attribute of the "add" elements.After a lot of trial and error - using code I've gleaned from here, there and everywhere - I've come up with the code below. It appears to work okay, but I'm only just starting to learn Linq to XML, so I'd like to know whether this is an appropriate method or if there is a better/ more efficient method I've missed. It just feels like I might be taking an unnecessary step in recreating the entire file element.

I've got a calendar app where we're loading up a DataTable from one method, then merging the results with another method - both methods return the same type of data and the same columns. One of the columns in the results is "start_time", which has a date and time. What I want to do is sort the entire, merged, DataTable by the time in the "start_time" column, disregarding the date completely. I've gotten this far, but can't see how to get it done:

I am stuck on a problem with combining lines with solid geometry. Look at the pictures. The first is a look at the object from above and the second is the same object seen from below. The gridlines in the second picture should be in front of the object. The lines are drawn using linelist (one line, vertexformat=positioncolored, it is then translated and rotated in a loop) and the cube is drawn using trianglestrip (vertexformat=positionnormalcolored). It seems like lines are not depth tested. How do I manage to properly draw both grid and cube?
