I am using a bindingsource to load data in datagridview. Some textboxes, comboboxes and a picture box are binded to the current item of the bindingsource. Note that the image is not being displayed in the datagridview. Only the picturebox in the form display the picture of current row in the datatable. The problem occurs when I follow the steps below:

Alright I have a DataGridView, where the user can click on the column headers to sort. When they add a new row while a sort is applied, the record isn't created until the moment they validate the row(which they cannot do till they exit the newRow). How can I make the row be selected once it is sorted?The DataGridView is databound.The selection mode for the grid is full row.I'm using VB.NET with SQLite database backend.I suspect I need to use the RowsAdded event, or DataBindingComplete events. The records in question do have a unique GUID attached but it is NOT visible in the DataGridView.

The grid has one column that requires me to determine its value, so the grid has the virtual mode property set to true.When i try to add using the dg.rows.add, i get a message saying 'operation not valid while in virtual mode'.If i set the virtual mode to false and execute the dg.rows.add line i get."Rows cannot be programatically added to the datagrid's rows collection when the control is databound"Ok....i cannot use rows.add when in virtual mode,.....and i cannot use rows.add when i am in data-bound mode.So then next thing i try is ctype(dg.datasource,datatable).rows.add , This gets the row into both the underlying table as well as the into a new row located at the bottom of the grid.
I try this: dg.sort(dg.columns("Row"),ascending) and get this "Operation is not supported when VirtualMode is set to true." i try seting virtual mode to false and get this: "Data-bound DataGridView control can only be sorted on data-bound columns."The column "Row" IS a column in the underlying table.If i click on the column header it sorts correctly.All i want to do is add arow and have it be located in the correct place in the sort order.
What i am trying to do is get the data type of the sorted column that the user selects in order to properly convert a variable. the variable will be used to locate similar values in the dataset that populates the datagrid view.

The problem I am experiencing is as follows:
in the source below, when the code runs "MeanRow" is populated with what is required. As soon as Rows.Remove() executes, the MeanRow datarow is lost. Why would this be if I'm declaring a new variable and simply setting it?

I have a DataTable in a DataGridView, one of the columns has data that I want sorted. I can click on the column header to sort it and it's fine. The problem is that I don't want that column sorted automatically when some of the data changes in it. I want it sorted only when I click on the header.
View 3 RepliesI'm calling a webservice using the async method, and catching the response with the completed event. When I first open the form, it all runs fine, however the second time I run the form I get the above error when attempting to sort the data.
Strangely, if I comment out the sorting code, it loads perfectly, and I can manually sort the dgv by clicking on the columns.

All works well HOWEVER, new records are not displayed in sorted order.When I add a new RECORD, it can go anywhere within the table. When I move around the table using the TABLEADAPTER Manager, the newly added record does not appear in sorted order.Furthermore, when I restart the application and show the form (which issued a FILL command), the records are not sorted.The SELECT I am using is fairly simple:

I have an XML configuration file to which I will occasionally add new elements and, for ease of reading outside of the application, I want to keep it sorted alphabetically - by the "key" attribute of the "add" elements.After a lot of trial and error - using code I've gleaned from here, there and everywhere - I've come up with the code below. It appears to work okay, but I'm only just starting to learn Linq to XML, so I'd like to know whether this is an appropriate method or if there is a better/ more efficient method I've missed. It just feels like I might be taking an unnecessary step in recreating the entire file element.

I've got a calendar app where we're loading up a DataTable from one method, then merging the results with another method - both methods return the same type of data and the same columns. One of the columns in the results is "start_time", which has a date and time. What I want to do is sort the entire, merged, DataTable by the time in the "start_time" column, disregarding the date completely. I've gotten this far, but can't see how to get it done:

I am stuck on a problem with combining lines with solid geometry. Look at the pictures. The first is a look at the object from above and the second is the same object seen from below. The gridlines in the second picture should be in front of the object. The lines are drawn using linelist (one line, vertexformat=positioncolored, it is then translated and rotated in a loop) and the cube is drawn using trianglestrip (vertexformat=positionnormalcolored). It seems like lines are not depth tested. How do I manage to properly draw both grid and cube?

I wrote the code and it works great but then i thought i'd have a little challenge and go above and beyond. i decided to make a highscore leader board system. i used the following variables and sub classes to make it but im having a slight issue...

The idea is that i wanted to make the system able to associate a name with a score, sort the score from greatest to lowest, save it to a text file, load it from the text file, repeat.
so heres a quick list of what i have working...
-Stores name and score
-Sorts by score then outputs
-occasional index of -1 issue
-saves score and name to a text file
-loads score and name when the form loads
-CANNOT add new data to the sorted list...
Thats my main issue. When i have data loaded from last time i try to add a new score to the list but then it gives me an error.

In the details of the exception it continues to say...InnerException {"object must be of type String"}
i don't know which parameter its referring to tho, the variable name is already of type string and count is type integer.
I have a DataGridView that is bound to a DataSet and I allow someone to remove a row from the table and I remove the row from the set. My code looks like this:
ds.Tables(0).Rows(dgCourseList.SelectedRows(0).Index).Delete()
My problem I found is if the grid gets sorted the index of the rows no longer corresponds to the indexes in the DataSet. As a result the wrong rows get removed from the set.
Can I solve this problem with maybe having to sort the DataSet on some sort event of the DataGridView?

i need to create a function for transforming an xml document using xslt. I am able to copy the document using xsl:copy-of, however it's not copying the root of the source xml document. As shown below, the root of the xml should be <List xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation ~>: [Code]. My IDE is Visual Basic .Net 2008. I need to reproduce the xml file with the SName attributes sorted in ascending order.
