Sort A Datagridview And Remove A Row From Its Sorted Position?

What I am trying to do is sort a datagridview and remove a row from its sorted position to the 1st row.
The problem I am experiencing is as follows:
in the source below, when the code runs "MeanRow" is populated with what is required. As soon as Rows.Remove() executes, the MeanRow datarow is lost. Why would this be if I'm declaring a new variable and simply setting it?

I have a few classes, one is a form, the other is the source of the datagridview. I want to be able to sort the columns of the datagridview by clicking on the header. Here are the classes that I am dealing with:

I keep track of a score system for all users in a sorted list;
dim Scores as new sortedlist(of string, integer)
I can easely increse points for a cirtain person by;
scores("peter").value += 1
Now I need to display a top x list of the users, if users have the same score, it should sort alphabetically on the name. Of course it's also possible that users have the same score.I've already tried to make a new sorted list with as key the score, and added to that score the username. Later when displaying the scores, I've replaced the username with nothing. The only problem in this solution is that the numbers are sorted on asci value which has this order:
0
1
10
2
3
4
Also, if you make a sorted list like this:
dim Scores as new sortedlist(of integer, string)
You can't have two people with the same score... So, there must be something possible with the iComparer to sort on integers right?

I have a DataGridView that is bound to a DataSet and I allow someone to remove a row from the table and I remove the row from the set. My code looks like this:
ds.Tables(0).Rows(dgCourseList.SelectedRows(0).Index).Delete()
My problem I found is if the grid gets sorted the index of the rows no longer corresponds to the indexes in the DataSet. As a result the wrong rows get removed from the set.
Can I solve this problem with maybe having to sort the DataSet on some sort event of the DataGridView?

Alright I have a DataGridView, where the user can click on the column headers to sort. When they add a new row while a sort is applied, the record isn't created until the moment they validate the row(which they cannot do till they exit the newRow). How can I make the row be selected once it is sorted?The DataGridView is databound.The selection mode for the grid is full row.I'm using VB.NET with SQLite database backend.I suspect I need to use the RowsAdded event, or DataBindingComplete events. The records in question do have a unique GUID attached but it is NOT visible in the DataGridView.

I am using a bindingsource to load data in datagridview. Some textboxes, comboboxes and a picture box are binded to the current item of the bindingsource. Note that the image is not being displayed in the datagridview. Only the picturebox in the form display the picture of current row in the datatable. The problem occurs when I follow the steps below:

I have a datagridview named "DG" bound to a datatable. The grid has one column that requires me to determine its value, so the grid has the virtual mode property set to true.When i try to add using the dg.rows.add, i get a message saying 'operation not valid while in virtual mode'.If i set the virtual mode to false and execute the dg.rows.add line i get."Rows cannot be programatically added to the datagrid's rows collection when the control is databound"Ok....i cannot use rows.add when in virtual mode,.....and i cannot use rows.add when i am in data-bound mode.So then next thing i try is ctype(dg.datasource,datatable).rows.add , This gets the row into both the underlying table as well as the into a new row located at the bottom of the grid.
I try this: dg.sort(dg.columns("Row"),ascending) and get this "Operation is not supported when VirtualMode is set to true." i try seting virtual mode to false and get this: "Data-bound DataGridView control can only be sorted on data-bound columns."The column "Row" IS a column in the underlying table.If i click on the column header it sorts correctly.All i want to do is add arow and have it be located in the correct place in the sort order.

I have a DataTable in a DataGridView, one of the columns has data that I want sorted. I can click on the column header to sort it and it's fine. The problem is that I don't want that column sorted automatically when some of the data changes in it. I want it sorted only when I click on the header.

I am using structures in my programming and I sort the structure according to a value in the structure using IComparer.This is a simple example for what I want.

How does number 1 get sorted? Is it brings the newest 1 to top or keeps the old 1in the same index? In my original example (before sorting), MyArray(0) = 1 and after sorting MyArray(0) = 1.Is this the same original 1 or this another 1 (the newest one added to the array) moved to that position?In case the MyArray(0) = 1 after sorting should be MyArray(5) = 1 before sorting.

Here's the issue in a nutshell (I can elaborate if you feel it's needed). In a DataGridView I want to capture the value of the row's key column so that when the user clicks on a column header to sort the data, I can reposition to the row that was selected prior to the click. I have a semicolon delimited string (e.g. an EMail Address List returned from a database or a textbox). How do I separate the string into an array, sort, and remove duplicates? The code below works to separate the string and sort the results, but doesn't remove the duplicates. I could probably then loop through the array and copy to a new array to eliminate the duplicates, but there must be a better way to do this using the VB.Net Array, String, and Collections handling classes.

The whole string is a long one, always change in size and can't be counted from the start. Can't use Replace as well, there may be same characters at other positions that I don't wish to remove.

I'm using VB 2008 and windows vista. I'm using a listview in my application.(view=details) I assign an image list to listview.smallimagelist. when user try to sort the listview by clicking the column header i use the imageindex property to set an icon for that column header, this works fine. When user clicks another column to sort the listview by that, I use listview.columns(PreviousColumnIndex).imageindex=-1 to remove the sort order icon from the previously selected columnheader, but it does not remove the picture from the previous columnheader. How should I remove the icon(picture) from the previous column header?

I'm calling a webservice using the async method, and catching the response with the completed event. When I first open the form, it all runs fine, however the second time I run the form I get the above error when attempting to sort the data.
Strangely, if I comment out the sorting code, it loads perfectly, and I can manually sort the dgv by clicking on the columns.

I have a DataGridView.DataSource set to a Collection of custom objects. The columns use read only properties from the custom object for display, this dialog is for display only. The properties all return String objects. I set the columns all but 2 of them to sortmode automatic (the ones that are not set is a button or a checkbox). Yet it does not sort. I have googled around and most people use sql or binding sources but I am using a trivial vb collection. Some say I should implement IComparable but isn't String already IComparable?
Per a request here are some code snippets.
This method defines the columns in detail from columns I designed in the designer.
The column names are called pSelected or pCustomer and corresponds with a property by the same name that the column definition ties to.
