(This is an AddIn working underAutodesk Inventor 2012 64 Bit).When I use a ODBC DSN (under C:WindowsSysWow64) I need to compile the application with targetas x86. But Inventor 2012 64 bit needs target as x64 or Any CPU. So ODBC - DSN not working. When I tried OLEDB as "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Data Source=database.mdb"It returns with an error Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 not registered.

View 9 RepliesI've created a Windows Form app in VB however I've decided the format is best suited to a Wizard style app. I've read a bit about creating wizards however I was hoping VS 2010 had a wizard to create wizards :) From what I've read there is a lot of coding to be done to create a simple wizard. Am I wrong ? Perhaps there is a third party app which generates the base wizard code?

My application starts with only 3 text boxes and using the Data Wizard it works fine. I want to expand it to give the user a way to select an individual record to review so I dragged a ListBox on to the form onto the form, filled the DataSource and DataMember properties and When I run the program I click on one of the items in the List Box and the proper record fills the Text Boxes.

I have a program on my machine that uses a local SQL Express 2005 database to store information in when the program is running. I want to use some data within said database in my program but for the life of me I cannot seem to get started by adding it as a new data source using the add data source wizard... If I type in the database name it throws an error that it cannot find the database, although I can quite clearly see it using the SQL Express 2005 SQL Server Management Tool.

View 1 RepliesI am a brand new user of MS Visual Basic 2005 Express and MS SQL Server 2005 Express. I have familiarized myself with both programs but have one extremely frustrating problem. Once I open SQL Server, I can not establish a database connection from Visual Basic using the Visual Basic Data Source Configuration Wizard (even if I close SQL Server). If I reboot and open Visual Basic first, I can then connect using the Visual Basic Data Source Configuration Wizard. But then I can not switch to SQL Server and open the database (even if I close Visual Basic). Again, I must reboot to open the database in SQL Server.I suspect there is a setting somewhere that needs to be changed, but I can not find it?

I want to use a connection string like this "Data Source=SQLSERVER;Initial Catalog=mydb;User Id=username;Password=password;" I know I can do that programmatically. But I would like to know whether I can do that using the data source wizard so that I will be able to use Bindingsources and tableadapters.
