I need some help keeping a DataGridView at the current row while being updated. I have about 140 rows of data that is being update with engineering data every 100 msec.
If the user is looking at a row 80, the slider is in the middle, when my LoadDt() runs to update with the latest data, the grid jumps back to row 1. I tried getting the first cell displayed and setting that back when done but this is not working.[code]...
I'm doing small system using database 03. I had function to add data into a comboBox. When i add a new data into the the same field using another form, then back to the main Form the comboBox does not update the current data in database..

View 1 RepliesI have an editable datagridview that's been databound with dataadapter and datatable, and a normal button on a form. When i edit the dgv's cells and click the save button it fires the datagridview_cellvalidating event and if the cell validation is correct it updates and saves the current record to the datasource. Also, before save it commits change in any cell under editing. But when I use a toolstripbutton to do the same work, though it saves the dgv records but doesn't update the current change i.e. it saves the old records that are being fetched when the dgv was populated first during form load. Also, clicking the toolstripbutton doesn't fire datagridview_cellvalidating, datagridview_rowvalidating etc events. What it seems to be is it's not committing the change in any cell under editing. Why isn't it happening and how can I make it work? how can I fire datagridview_ cellvalidating, datagridview_rowvalidating and other events; and commit cell value change by clicking toolstripbutton.
I have created a service that will update a table. <foxpro to mysql>Before the update it will delete all the data in a table<mysql> and then insert the record from the dataset<from foxpro> one by one.I have more than 5000 records and it is very time consuming, now I would like to ask for some idea if there is a way in vb.net to only insert the data that have been recently added to the table<in foxpro> to mysql table. Is it possible in vb.net to know what has been added in the table?
View 3 RepliesI'm working on a VB.Net windows application.In the top half of the form application, I have a vendor number with a "GO" button and in the bottom half I have a list of tab pages. We have built the application to only go to the database and display data when the tab page is selected by the user. If I'm in one of the tab pages, and I change the vendor number and click the GO button, the data on the current tab page goes blank (it does not refresh). I have been told that I have to find a way of programmatically clicking on the tab page's tab a second time. How do I do that? I've tried using _Selected event, _Selecting event, _Click event. I've even tried to do a .Focus() on the tab page itself. Nothing seems to work to reload the new data without clicking off of the tab and back onto it manually.
View 4 RepliesI'm writing a program which assists users update passwords for our windows systems and some other applications. Everything is working except when I call the UserPrincipal.Current.ChangePassword command cached credentials are not updated like they are when you change a password using the windows OS password change.
That is: when a remote user who is VPN'd in uses my application to change passwords, when they reboot and VPN is disconnected, they are forced to login to windows using there old password.
Is there a way I can force windows to update the cached credentials to the new password so upon reboot they are able to login using this new password?

I have a windows form where I want the time to constantly be updated. Right now it will take the current time from when the program was started.
For example, if I started the program at 4:30:29 PM that is what it will show the whole time the program runs.I need it to constantly be updated as the seconds tick by. View 5 RepliesI am beginning to work with .NET technology after several years of VB6 and C++ and I want to learn as fast as possible.
My problem is with a DGV. It shows the prices of several store items, and I intend to let the user modify those prices by entering a % in a textbox (radio button states if that % is positive or negative) or by editing cell by cell manually.
As editing prices is kind of sensitive, what I do is loop through the DGV, add or substract the % engtered in the corresponding column and ask for a confirmation after whole DGV loop is done. If user agrees, DB is updated with new values. No problem here.
If user denies (in case he/she made a mistake), I restore grid's DataSource to a copy I made before calculating new percentages and this automatically refreshes my grid to its original state.
The issue is that if a user denies the operation for a 2nd time, this 2nd execution of the code fails at showing the original values, disabling the pseudo-rollback function.

I have a DataGridView on the first tab page that is displaying data in a DataTable.
On the second tab I am updating the current record on the DataGridView.
The text fields on the second tab are bound to the DataTable in the following manner

When I move to the second tab the correct data appears in the text fields.
When I modify a field on the second tab the modified data appears in the DataGridView, on the first tab page. But when I check for changes in the DataTable in the following manner

In my form there is a DataGridView, the user select information in the DataGridView then there are text boxes that needs to be filed in. So this is what needs to happens if the focus is on the DataGridView when the user hits the Tab key it moves the focus to first text box. Then once the user hits the last tab box it returns focus back to the DataGridView but to next cell. Initially figured this would not be a problem and did this code;

What I want to happen is, when the user checks one field (or perhaps I change that field's value in code), I want to automatically uncheck the other field. On one of my forms i have a datagridview binded to an Access database. It displays only first and last names of my customers in a datagridview.What i want to do now is, when i double-click on one of the customers another form will open and display details for this customer (detailed view - textboxes).
What i have accomplished so far is that when i double-click on a customer in datagridview a form opens with details (linked to the same binding source as datagridview). But the problem is that it always opens the first record even if i dobule-click second or third in datagridview.I don't know how to bind these textboxes with current datagridview position?
I'm trying to use the errortext field on a cell to display a validation error. It works fine if I leave the cell, but I can't figure out how to display it while staying in the cell. I have seen examples where the code updates the row's errortext, but I really want to mark the cell in error.
