I have a DateTime field in database and DateTime variable in VB.The VB variable is holding the date as 25/03/2008 11:57but when i save it to DB it changes to 03/25/2008 11:57.What is the solution to this microsoft nightmare.

i have problem about datetime i use os vista,sql server 2005,vb.net 2008 string is = "insert into ....... values('23/3/2009')" in program time is correct but when i go to sql server,it's show 23/3/2555 when i saw at os is 23/3/2009 i think this problem at sql server but i don't know how to fix it Do you understand me?

May I ask a question to you all.I have vb.net project that generate sales report from SQL Server Database.I changed SQL Server 2005 Express to SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition.
After that my program can't run properly and every time I got Time Out Expire message.

Having a bit of a nightmare with my application. I have developed my application in 1366 x 768. When moving onto other resolutions, the form looks totally wrong. Is there a way to have the application force itself to open up in a box that will fit the screen?(I'm more than happy to pay someone today or tomorrow who could look at making sure that my form gracefully up / down scales). This really is pretty urgent in that respect. If you have the ability to gracefully scale a form up / down and can do so for me either today or tomorrow, let me know of your price. (Possibly a bit naughty to pop this into the forums but I am willing to pay to get this sorted asap).

So I created a table and one of the columns is is called currencydate, and has a datetime data type. Within my vb scripts, i've taken a filename and extracted the date components from it. an example filename is WER22402.10. The part in bold is the date meaning 24th February 2010.
I use the following function to extract the date values and convert it to a date type.

My colleague and I have recently upgraded our projects from .NET Framework 1.0 and VS2002 to .NET Framework 2.0 and VS2005. We also applied the latest VS2005 service pack.
Our problem: normally when debugging we use the QuickWatch window to drill down into and view collections of objects belonging to the parent object we are "watching". THIS NO LONGER WORKS...instead, we get a message in the value line against the object collection saying:"In order to evaluate an indexed property, the property must be qualified and the arguments must be explicitly supplied by the user."This is incredibly frustrating, particularly when we have large nested collections of objects.We are pretty sure this feature was working fine after we upgraded, but we are not so sure that it was working after we applied the VS2005 service pack.
how to check the server DateTime when the application launch. i want to make sure the user PC has the same DateTime as server when the user use the application. Reason being is some user may tend to change their DateTime backward and it causes a major confusion when it update in the server database. Now for some reason the SQL server field(which is datetime) will not display AM/PM, I have referred this link where my code looks like this:

I'm trying to create an auction site using asp.net. My auction's start date & time and end date & time are stored in my sql server 2008 r2 database as datetime types. I'm using vb.net. I'm trying to create a select statement in which I can query the date and time portion relative to the current date and time (so as to only display current ongoing auctions). I can successfully query the date portion using the Date.Now function, but the time is giving me a hassle. DateAndTime.Now doesn't work. When I debug this, I put the line break on that line and look at the Table Value, which shows 0, but I know that there is data for that time frame.
I'm adding a DateTime DataColumn to a DataTable like this:

Then when I try to add it to my datatable, if the value is Nothing I get an error saying string was not recognized as a valid DateTime. I'm having trouble getting this to work.
Weird problem that just started, I am using an OleDbCommnad to create a dataadapter then fill a table everything from a .csv file, works fine except no dates are coming over? I added a datagrid view to my project just to see and any column that should have a date value is empty. I confirmed that the column is of System.DateTime value so I am at a complete loss?

This code will no longer work in VB.net and I cannot figure out how to do this with 2005 VS. The string originally is something like "20100310142715" and should be broken down into year, month, day, hour, minute, second.

Although a few people around here have said that Dates are not a huge deal that they're simply data, I always seem to get stuck on them, and my current issue is no exception. I am trying to save/retrieve data between my Access 2003 data and my VB2005 form. I have tried any number of combinations (even the forbidden Value.ToString, and having the Data Type in Access as string, and although it worked fine for saving the data, it doesn't work for loading it back into the form.). I am writing a program to analyze error logs from an existing application, and I want to consider only lines that have a Date/time stamp at the beginning of each line.( in the format "03/13/08 08:03:58") I am extracting this as a string and want to evaluate it to make sure it is a valid date so I am using "IsDate(Mid$(TextArray(i), 1, 18))". The problem is that IsDate evaluates False even when the string I am passing should be valid (eg. 03/13/08 08:36:59).
