IDE - Solution Starts Debugging As Soon As It Open
May 4, 2011I have a VB solution in Visual Studio 2010 which is a year or so old. In the last couple of months a very strange thing has started happening - when I open the solution, it starts debugging immediately. Has anyone got any idea why this might be happening and how it can be prevented as its really annoying?

Jan 23, 2010I trying to run MediaViewer and I getting a debugging error, sorry, I have no idea what this is about but this is the error message: "Could not load file or assembly 'Atalasoft.Shared, Version=2.1.0.2, Culture=neutral, PublicKey Token=2b02b46f7326f73b'....."
Then it goes on to say "WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF. To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value[HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftFusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging. To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftFusion!EnableLog]. I am running Vista.

Jul 3, 2012i am building a WCF Service Library that has to check our CRM database. Unfortunately when i try to debug the service with the WCF Test Client i receive a "Failed to invoke the service" error. I have stripped down the service slowly adding things back in to help figure out what is causing the error. I found out that it is cause when i call a new instance of my CRM service object. Is there something that i need to do in order to fix this error and be able to step through the service to debug it??

Jan 19, 2006I am running on the VB8 and expirienced an error during debugging after some changes in "My project" area. I have noticed (on two different machine) that after change for example Startup Form or Security Area, I am not able to debug program any longer. An error appears, telling me that:
The Operation Could not be completed.
After clicking OK (nothing else is available) and next try of debugging, another error message appear:
Visual Studio could not copy a support file to this location: "path". Please verify the path exists and is writeable. After that, I have to close Visual Basic and restart it. Than everything works fine...till next change of "My project"

May 1, 2009I'm having to write a reporting application that gets information from some Interbase servers and it also has to work on Vista as well as XP, I'm using to connect Borlands Data Provider.[code]My Issue is that debugging on my xp Machine the dataset gets filled, debugging on my vista box it fails ("Interbase provider initialization failed"), my initial thought was that this could be UAC related but I've compiled the application and 'ran as admin' and still same issue. (by the way it failes on the line Dim da as BdpDataAdapter...)

Nov 18, 2008I am working with visual studio 2008, developing a simple windows form app. in VB. but a very weird situation has presented itself (at least I think its weird).When I try F5 or any other way to start the debugger I get this message:"Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging.The debugger cannot connect to the remote computer. This may bebecause the remote computer does not exist or a firewall may be preventing communication to the remote computer. Please see Helpfor assistance."Needless to say, Help is Helpless.The weird thing about it is that this only appears if my computer is not connected to the home network and only in VB. When I try to debug on any other language it works fine, or if I connect to the network then VB debugs fine. I do not think I am using a remote debugger.

Sep 19, 2011I am unable to debug any projects as of a Windows Update 2 days ago. It not only caused problems with VS 2008 but also SQL Server 2008. I did a system restore and my SQL Server is back to normal, but VS 2008 will not debug any projects. I get a vshost.exe has stopped working and then a file exception error. Dec 1, 2010I just got Windows 7, so I re-installed VB 2008 Express and have been met with some weird issues. One of which is when my program is running it used to break on a line where an error was occurring and tell what it was and let me fix it and continue. So I can see the error in the Immediate window but why is it not breaking on the line? It just continues loading the program. Is there a setting I'm missing?

Feb 10, 2010I'm using visual studio express 2008, I wrote my code for a project and then when I tried to debug it I got a few errors but one main one that says this. Visual Studio cannot start debugging because the debug target "".exe is missing Please build the project and retry, or set the output path and assembly names appropriately to point at the correct location of the target assembly. Since this is my first time debugging a program with this particular instance of the program, I am in shock. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Nov 8, 2011I am running a simple test app that opens an OLEDB connection, retrieves a single value, then closes. The compiled (console) app works fine, but running it from the IDE causes either a silent close (if it's a winforms app) or a crash of vshost32.exe if it's a console app.
The devenv is VB 2010 Express on Windows x64, but I have the configuration manager on the solution set to "Debug" - "x86".

This works when the code is on the web server / which is collocated with the SQLServer.However, when I want to debug, I have to copy to the server. I would like to be able to "debug in place" on my development machine and only copy files to the production machine periodically. Technically the production machine is not in production at the moment, but that's beside the point.Anyway, I followed the following instruction: [URL] I can now see the remote database, functions, etc. on the other machine (from the VWD running on the development machine). However, I thought I should then be able to execute this same code locally on the development machine using ctrl-F5, but I get the following error:

Using Nero Recode - Error Message - No Installed Debugger Has Just-in-time Debugging Enabled
Apr 1, 2009When using Nero Recode I get a error message shortly into the program saying:
"An unhandled win32 exception occured in Recode.exe [5580]. Just-in-time debugging this exception failed with the following error: No installed debugger has Just-in-time debugging enabled. In Vision Studio, Just-in-time debugging can be enabled from Tools/options/Debugging/Just-in-time"
As far as i can see it is enabled but I still i get this error message.
