Feb 22, 2012I have a windows form with nothing more than 4 picture boxes on there and a button. How (if even possible) can I show this page in full screen mode but at the same time allow each control on the form to format and resize in proportion.The best analogy I can give to describe what I want is when thinking about PowerPoint. When you create a slide and then press the F5 button to go into slideshow mode, no matter what size monitor or resolution you use, it always fills up the screen appropriately.

May 4, 2009Just finishing off an update to an application written in VB.NET that used to run fine under CE.NET 4.2. Deployment platform is now Windows Mobile 6.1. The application runs in full screen, however whenever a new form is opened, the task bar, i.e. the bar with the start button comes to the fore and then the new form takes over. This is particularly annoying as I have a form that has many sub forms which are 128,128 and still the task bar flashes and obscures part of the user input screen

Jun 20, 2011My app is built in vb.net compact. All these years in all versions when user taps at the top or bottom of the screen (depending on where the task bar is located) it brings up the task bar and start menu fine. But now the latest OS build doesn't do it anymore. I'm thinking of having a button in my app to bring up the task bar but not sure how to do it.However, in IE full screen there is a circular button that brings up the task bar. If I can accomplish it in my app that would be good.

Apr 13, 2012One of the things my VB.NET program does is play video files using the Windows Media Player component that comes with VB. My program also switches the WMP component to full screen but once in a while the form will be on top of the full screen video. I am hoping that you fine and knowledgeable folks cat this from happening. The problem occurs when the next video file is played automatically. I'll do my best to post a bit of code but since I don't have much of an idea what might be causing this I'll just have to guess. The project has gotten quite large over the years I've been writing it and if any more code ito post any or all of it, though I'm sure no one would like to go through all 1771 lines of it.

Nov 26, 2010I have a project which has a table with a list of stores. Originally the store code was a string of 3 and was padded so 1 would be 001 etc. I have had to increase this column to 8. The problem is when I read in data from a XML file the store code is padded so it looks like this '500 ' rather than '500'. This is now causing a major problem when I do a comparison.Is there a way to it does not auto pad to the full string length?

However, I can't seem to access this as a string in code due to a type mismatch. I assumed I could get this information using the .ToString method, but all that returns is the object description with none of the properties or values:

Since I clicked on subfolder1 i was expecting the msgbox to display D:Folder1Subfolder1 but unfortunately the msg box doesnto even have the name of the node i clicked on but when i use selectednode.text I get the correct node text. Anyways why isnt my full path working. I then tried manually designing the entire scenario using tree node editor and the code which i mentioned above works. But whenever i populate the trr programatically the above problem starts.

Jul 6, 2010I'm a relatively seasoned VB (COM) vet but this is my first VB.Net application and as is my luck a web services application feeding off a site that I can't publicly mention nor can I post any code that may expose the site.
So, here's the problem. I have written a simple form and have 2 buttons. 1 button simply asks the webservice for it's version. This works no problem. I was able to load the web reference using their supplied WSDL file for this "version" class. Now that I have that working I think "GREAT, that was straight forward. I have my credentials, urls, etc working, the rest of this should be just as straight forward." (See where I jinxed myself here?)
Anyway, I move onto the next WSDL and set of classes and get that reference added no problem. (Man that took a LONG time, like 20 minutes.) I then build my "Get my order data" code syntaxes on the prescribed exposed classes and run my project just to see what errors I get. The "run" process takes almost 45 minutes to an hour..... It's as if the app is getting the WSDL set all over again but doing it over and over..... I have no clue what's going on.
I've tried to disable all the Windows 7 "potential" issues, UAC, firewall, etc, but these changes don't help. Anti virus, spyware, etc all these are off and no difference. I'm running VS2008 as an Admin, right click "run as admin", and have complete control over this machine. Any ideas, suggestions, etc are VERY welcome and I am happy to expose as much of this application as I can providing I can stay with in the rules of the confidentiality contract.
