How To Sort GridView (Bound To List) With JQuery

I have a gridview in asp.net/vb and it is bound to a list - so there's no standard sorting available. I've found this jQuery plugin for sorting tables: [URL]. The plugin requires <thead> and <tbody>. The problem is, that my gridview only renders the <tbody>.

I've already tried
DataList.UseAccessibleHeader = True
DataList.HeaderRow.TableSection = TableRowSection.TableHeader
But this changes nothing.

Displaying List Of Objects As Single Column In A Bound Gridview (Winforms)?

I have a gridview that is bound to a datasource on a Windows Form (VB.NET). The grid displays a list of "certifications", and each "certification" can be associated with many languages. So in the grid, I'd like to display "languages" as a column, and display a comma delimited list of the language names for each "certification".

In the "certification" class, one of the properties is a list of "language" objects, and each "language" has an ID (guid), name (string), and value (integer).

So in the datasource, I have the list of "languages", but I can't figure out how to display them in a column on the grid. The gridview won't let me add the language list property as a column.

So is the ONLY way to add a new property on the "certification" class, which returns a string that contains the comma delimited list, and show THAT on the grid? Or is there a way to display that list of "languages"?

I have a gridview which generate a link based on certain condition inside the Grid from code behind. What I want to achieve is when I click on that link, I want to catch all the information from the row that the link is in. So for example, if row 1, 2, and 4 has links in cell 5, When I click row 1's link, I want to get all the cell value from row 1. When I click on row 2's link, I want to get all the cell value from row 2, etc. I am somewhat close but not quite. When I click on row 2, I still get the same value from row 1, same as when I click on row 4, I get the same value from row 1.In short, I want to get the row's value based on the link that's in the row. Here's my code:

I have been experimenting with datagridview by designing a bill tracking program. The first challenge I haven't been able to solve myself is how to sort it. I managed to figure out how to save and update from xml but I don't know how to put it in any particular order. Is this possible with it bound, or would I need to write particular code to custom-fill in the date grid? All I am looking for is an a-z sort.

I have a jQuery 'toggle' function on a table that I am using in conjunction with an asp.net gridview. I have pagination on my gridview and when I click on the next page, it posts back and therefore closes the Toggle/Table - I need a way of keeping it open. Preventing Column Auto Sort After Editing A Bound DataGridView

I've got a DataGridView that has a DataTable as it's Datasource. Whenever I sort a column and then edit a cell, after editing the column, the column autosorts so the recently edited cell is no longer in the viewable area. Is there any way to prevent this auto sort from happening and only sort when I click on the columns?

I have a List(Of T) storing a list of Custom classes called Advertisement. Each advertisement contains 3 properties, Year, Make and Model. I need to sort the list By Year, then by Make and then by Model. I have a property in the Advertisement class called Vehicle which returns a formatted string with the Year Make Model like 2007 Toyota Tacoma and ive been sorting on that but its not working how I thought it would. Comboboxes In GridView Are Synchronized Instead Of Bound To The Value From The Database

I have tried to set up combo boxes in the gridview but all the combo boxes have the same value in them instead of the value from the database. I am using entity framework and WPF. There is a parent child relationship between two tables but the source for the combo box is a separate table with names and IDs for tags. I have been looking all day. Hopefully this won't be too easy to solve.

The "Tag" Column displays the combo box. The Column "Tag ID" displays the value from the database. When I display the data the TagID Changes in diffrent rows but the Tag column is the same (the first choice) in all the rows. When I change one combo box they all change. I can't see where they are hooked together.

I am creating a simple website using the language of VB.NET, I am having trouble with one part at the moment and could really use some help.

At the moment I have items that are stored in a database, when the homepage loads these items are added to a Gridview which allows the user to select the items they wish to add to their shopping cart. Once an item is selected from the gridview it is added to a collection. That collection is then added to a Session. This is the code I have for completing that task.[code]...

Handling RowDataBound Causes Dynamically-bound GridView To Show Only First Record

I have a GridView control which I am dynamically binding to a DataTable which is populated by a query built based on a set of selected options.What I am trying to do is simply handle the RowDataBound event in order to format specific rows based on the value of a database field. The code in this event handler works fine. My problem is, calling this event causes the GridView to only display the first record in the DataTable, almost as if the Gridview stops after binding to the DataTable after the first row is bound. I have attempted adding the handler dynamically, but I get the same results.I know for a fact that there is sufficient data being returned (the DataTable fills with all of the records, and the GridView shows all the records fine when not touching the RowDataBound event).

I'm adding the handler immediately after generating the query, filling the DataTable, and binding the GridView: [code]I have also determined that, when handling RowDataBound, the GridView's DATABOUND event never gets fired; it seems to stop binding right after binding the first row.

I am binding a data set to a GridView in VB .net. I have some custom sorting setup, and want to display an icon next to the header if one of my 3 options is selected.

I've read a lot of methods in doing this, and I see Gridviews even have a ASC and DESC header style I can associate with the view. I have 2 problems with this, though:I am sorting a List with linq on Sort Trigger, then binding it to the datagrid.
The reason I do it this way, is I want to maintain multiple sort levels, ordering by 3 columns rather than 1.

Edit for clarity Specifically what I want to do is loop through the value of a GridView's Header text, see if it matches what I have saved in viewstate, and if so add an image for that header in particular. Something essentially like below, however headerRow.Cells(y).Text is always returning "", even when the header has text:

i have a GridView bound to a DataView. Some columns in the DataView's table are foreignkeys to related tables(f.e. Customer). I want to enable sorting for these columns too, but all i can do is sorting the foreignkey(fiCustomer) and not the CustomerName.
