IDE :: Green Vertical Lines In Left Margin On Code Screen?
Aug 3, 2011It seems when I change some code while working with practice files I get green veritcal lines in the left margin of the code page I am writing. What does it mean?

Custom RichText Control With Non-editable Line Numbers In Left Margin
Aug 7, 2009I came across a post a while back which showed a custom rich textbox control which had line numbers in its margin. Similar to what you woudl see if you we coding in the VB designer and you had your line numbers viewable.
I think it was two controls in one (i.e. two textboxes: one for the numbers, and the other for the text). However I cannot remember where I saw it.
Green Line Left Side Of Development Environment
Jun 19, 2010Well I've finally decided to upgrade some of my vb6 applications. Anyway I have two forms that are very similar one is customers one is vehicles. One of them is working on form load and one of them isn't. The one that isn't working I've traced the point it stops down to where there is a green line left of the code on the left bar of the development environment. This green line doesn't exist on the form that works. What the green line in this photo means? [URL].
Bigger Picture [URL]. I found a page that says the green simply means the code was saved but it's only on the form that stops working right after the execution of the sql statement. For some reason while stepping through the code it returns to the show command that was called to originally open the form right before the form opens but it skips everything with the green line next to it. I went and disabled tracking and it went away.

Displaying Two Forms On Left / Right Side Of Screen
Aug 11, 2010I would like to display 2 forms side by side. Frm1 will call Frm2. The problem is, if Frm1 is too near the edge of the computer screen, when Fr2 is shown, part of it will be outside the screen. How do I make it so that if Frm1 is near the right-side of the screen then Frm2 will show on the left-side of Frm1 and vise-versa?

The board of my game consists of a 70*35 grid of RectangleShapes on which i can move around. When i start my program it renders the board from right to left on the screen and i have serious lag when i try to move around on it. I know you'd normally use double buffering to reduce flickering, but that didn't do anything (unless i'm doing it wrong).

Adjusting The Position Of The Vertical Scroll Bar In Code?
Oct 29, 2009I have a windows form which contains a group of panels in a flowlayout control. Each panel has a button acrossthe top which is always visible and clicking on it expands the panel to view the other controls on it. clicking on it again shrinks the panel back to the size of the button. A simple form of menu. The flowlayout control has autoscroll enabled and as enough panels are resized (opened) they obviously are too big for the form and a scroll bar pops up.To get the most recently opened panel in the viewable area I use
FlowLayout.ScrollControlIntoView(pnECBF)
where pnECBF is the panel just resized. This works but places the panel at the bottom of the form i.e just in the visible area. I want the user to be able to see the panel AND the next menu button which is on the subsequent panel. So basically what I want is the panel into the visible area +25 pixels for the next panels menu button.
VS 2010 IDE - Vertical Split Of Class Code Window
Oct 1, 2011I'm trying to use one project as a reference for writing another project, and I want to see as much code as I can from that project on another monitor. Since Code is only so wide (assuming you break-lines), I have a lot of wasted horizontal space. Is there any way in the IDE to do a vertical split of a class code window? I know you can do a horizontal split, but although that shows you two sections of code at once, it doesn't increase the amount of code you see, because it sacrifices one code's space for another.

Form.Left And Form.Top To A Different Screen Don't Work?
Aug 24, 2009I've run into a little problem recently. My computer has two screens sitting side-by-side.
Here are the dimensions for my first screen: {X = 0 Y = 0 Width = 1280 Height = 1024}
Here are the dimensions for my second screen: {X = 1280 Y = 0 Width = 1280 Height = 1024}
My form saves its position on exit into the Registry. Whenever I start my application, I set its opacity to 0 in the constructor and it goes to my first screen. While its opacity is at 0, I then move it to its previous location (1280, 0) like this:
thisForm.Left = X
thisForm.Top = Y
Where X = 1028 and Y = 0.
I place a breakpoint directly in front of those assignments and when I hover over thisForm.Left, it = -4. Whenever I hover over thisForm.Top, it = -4.
Sure enough, when my form comes up, it's in my first screen.
For those interested, I've now worked around it, by doing some additional testing. What caused it: My Window State was Maximized. Solution: If before I set these positions, I change my Window State to Normal, the form moves. I can then maximize it while it's on the second screen and it remains there. why I can't move my form while it's maximized? It's more for curiosity than to find a solution, since the work-around is actually working quite well.

When I run or debug the code, it asks for the First Number and then just completes the running of the program without asking for the second number and uses some random number. The console.readline() doesn't work either, the console window just disappears.

Nov 17, 2010I have a htpc project that I am working on. The main program loads dll plugins which are basically other win forms. On each of these forms, including the main program, I use a picturebox (a double buffered picturebox) for the background image and then draw everything on it by hand. Whenever I load the form from the dll and show it, I get a weird flicker. It looks like it is the previously used double buffer. Is there any way to clear the background double buffer before the flicker? Or am I going in the wrong direction?

Notice the black screen with the white lines on it or the flash of the desktop after I click "Movies." How do I get rid of that?

Printing From RTB - Margin Settings
Jan 29, 2011I can print and almost everything works. Basically I used KB 811401 to create a RichTextBoxPrintCtrl.dll and add it to my tool box. I have a Page Setup and a Page Print. I call Setup and change the margins. Then I call print. But I always get default margins. The margin settings I put in the Page Setup don't "take".

Scroll Left In Panel When Children.left= -
Jun 6, 2011I got a panel that i am adding labels to. I have autoscroll enabled on it so when they fill the viewable space it scrolls. but i need to put the labels to the left unviewable space(when left scroll is already at 0) The label is placed but i dont get the scroll bars and i cant force it to scroll to a - value.
Is this even possible? Same thing with UP.
Or is the Scroll only limited to Bottom and Right?
