So we are just starting to learn about list boxes in vb1. In this program the user enters up to 10 scores and after each input (decInputScore) the total score so far has to be calculates (decTotalScore) and then of course when all the scores are entered, at the bottom the final score it calculated. (decFinalScore) (decFinal). I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing wrong, I can't get it to calculate the correct total scores after each input, and I'm getting 0 as the final score. Here is a visual of what the form should look like: the black square is (btnEnterScore) a pop up message box comes up in which the user enters each value when clicked.[code]

I keep track of a score system for all users in a sorted list;
dim Scores as new sortedlist(of string, integer)
I can easely increse points for a cirtain person by;
scores("peter").value += 1
Now I need to display a top x list of the users, if users have the same score, it should sort alphabetically on the name. Of course it's also possible that users have the same score.I've already tried to make a new sorted list with as key the score, and added to that score the username. Later when displaying the scores, I've replaced the username with nothing. The only problem in this solution is that the numbers are sorted on asci value which has this order:
0 1 10 2 3 4
Also, if you make a sorted list like this:
dim Scores as new sortedlist(of integer, string)
You can't have two people with the same score... So, there must be something possible with the iComparer to sort on integers right?
I'm not sure where I'm going wrong with this. it's supposed to let the user add scores to the list, then calculate the total, average, and count. However, it doesn't let me add more values to the list. Any help whatsoever would be awesome! I am writing a noughts and crosses game and I want to be able to keep score everytime each character wins a game, I have written a sub routine to handle this but it seems to count up in 5's and 10's??I have used a global variable like this Dim i As Integer = 1 then declaired that variable in my sub like this i += 1 (I thaught that this would just add 1 everytime X won a game)then used the variable i to add the score to the label control that keeps the score for the character X.My question is, am I using the correct syntax (+=) for the variable.
I spend my spare time trying to create a football game in VB.NET. I have a save game file saved using serialization which I am using to test code. This file contains all the elements of gameplay (stored plays, games, options, etc...) I create this file in the software itself using the code I created; I put a lot of work into this save game file and I would like to continue using it.
However, I discovered I need to add a couple member variables to the class from which the saved object is derived (object is called m_League, class is ClLeague). Any time I've altered ClLeague my old saved games don't load anymore because the new m_League object does not match the old m_League object. I have to start a new game and create m_League from scratch which wastes a lot of time.
This must pop up in with the professionals out there who write patches for software and need the users old saved files to continue working. Is there any trick to this situation or do I have to just accept it?
I currently have a list of words in a text file sorted in to alphabetical order and put into lower case, but I would like to be able to also display the line numbers on which these words are associated with.. but only one instance of.
For example,

I currently have a who wants to be a millionaire game that I have made in visual basic 2010. Each question is in its own form. Form1 opens at the start, and question 1 is opened by a button click on Form1. The user has to click on the picture box at the side to show the text for the question each time. If they answer incorrectly, it displays a message box, opens an input box asking for their name, and goes to the form with the high score list, Form17.
Upon opening Form17, I want the scores to load and be displayed in the list box. The high scores are saved in a text file at C: est.txt . Upon clicking menu or end, the high scores are saved to the text file.

What I am trying to accomplish is this: I have a login page were a student logs in. After the login the student will be taken to a student user page. This page has 2 list boxes. The first is showing the exams that he has passed and the other shows the exams he has yet to complete or fail. I can not get any data to display in my list box. I have a form displayed where a user can can select a 'function' from a list box. That 'function' has a corresponding ID number which I need to be able to take and use later in the code.The List of functions is preset (about 150+ them and the IDs are already assigned (so I can't just use the index).So if the user selects "Function A", I need the code to set a variable to, for example "42" (or whatever that Funtion's ID is).
I was going to do this using listbox.item and listbox.itemData, but I'm using VB.Net in VS2008 and I understand that function is no longer present (to add ItemData at design time).Here's where it gets complicated. When the form loads it looks at the variable containing the FunctionID and if there is one present, I want it to populate the co-ordinating FunctionName. I can do that if I know the index number, but I don't know how to look at the FunctionID and return it's index (all FunctionIDs are unique).
A) store the info, either in the Listbox using ItemData, in an array (but I'd prefer to do it at design time), or some other way you might suggest.

I have a table being imported into my VB application that has 3 columns. I have written code to import the table, and have written code to display on the first column (country) in a list view.
What I want to do now is have the user select / highlight an item in the list view, and have the third column (currency) related to that selected country appear in a text box when a button is clicked.

I'm having a problem displaying an image from an ObjectData Source created by function which adds iems to a list(of T) class. The ObjectData Source then becomes the gridviews Data Soource. All the other fields are displaying, except the image.
I have a gridview that is bound to a datasource on a Windows Form (VB.NET). The grid displays a list of "certifications", and each "certification" can be associated with many languages. So in the grid, I'd like to display "languages" as a column, and display a comma delimited list of the language names for each "certification".
In the "certification" class, one of the properties is a list of "language" objects, and each "language" has an ID (guid), name (string), and value (integer).
So in the datasource, I have the list of "languages", but I can't figure out how to display them in a column on the grid. The gridview won't let me add the language list property as a column.
So is the ONLY way to add a new property on the "certification" class, which returns a string that contains the comma delimited list, and show THAT on the grid? Or is there a way to display that list of "languages"?

I want it so every time I click an ITEM in the Listbox it displays ALL the data into the textbox. I know there's an easy way using table adapters and binding the listbox, but I'd prefer to do it this way for my project.
is there any way yo get the score of one player in counter strike? one of the player on the computer. not all the players. i know that when you are looking att server info, then you can see all the player and there scores. is there anyway to replicate that function?
