I have two frames in a frameset with some textboxes in one frame and a button in another frame. How can i get the data input from the textboxes in the first frame, on a click of the button in the second frame?

I can access a specific frame and put the frame into a bitmap so that I can process the bitmap.
Just started VB programming this week and have found a wealth of information about what I'm trying to do. Problem is, some of it is more complete than others.Here's what I'm trying to do:In Form1 (my main form), I want to instantiate a class that contains a couple of properties (speed setpoint and position setpoint). When I click a button, I want to pass this data to Form2 and populate two textboxes on Form2 with the properties of this object. I want to manipulate the property values on Form2 and click an OK button which closes the dialog and returns the manipulated data, updating the property values of the object. Here's the algorithm I'm following:1) On Form1, instantiate the class2) On Form1's "Pass Data" button click event handler, instantiate a Form2 object and invoke the ShowDialog method, passing the object as a parameter.
3) On Form2, overload the ShowDialog method to accept the object as a parameter and modify the method so that it returns the manipulated class data.4) On Form2, in the ShowDialog method, populate the textboxes with the class data that was passed in.Here's where I get stuck. If I press the OK button on Form2 (DialogResult.OK), it returns me to Form1, but what hook do I have in Form1 to receive the manipulated class data that the ShowDialog method is returning?Here's an example of what I'm thinking about:

i m working on an application which communicates with PLC machine using Modbus protocol. Now i m able to generate and communicate a modbus data frame with PLC the only problem that i m facing is that in all the data frames of modbus the last ascii characters should be Carriage return + Line feed which should be read by the PLC as 0D 0A that is in Hexadecimal form. But i m not able to do this. The rest entire string is properly read by the PLC but How do I make it read the CR+LF.

View 3 RepliesI am using datarepeater to display rows of information from database. When i click a 'save' button and i would like to loop through the rows of data in repeater. The code i am using is able to do all these. The only problem i encountered is at the Interface side. When i am looping the data-repeater. The selection 'frame' (refer to the picture point as 'A') is moving from record to the next record and scrollbar is auto moving as well to scroll to further down until the last row where looping finish.Is there anything can be done to remove the selection 'frame' and stop datarepeater from scrolling while looping the datarepeater.

I cannot figure out how to incorporate the number of days into the input box then get it to loop and count the number of times the User inputs in the number of days. Then I have to incorporate it into the equation to get the total distance D = MPH * Hours. What I have right now wil not count up the number of days and locks up after I input one number and will not add anything to the listbox. Because I also have to make sure that they cant add nonnumaric values and the number of hours per day cannot exceed 20. I have put things in and taken them out but it has been 2 days and I am lost now

I am trying to click on certain rows in a datagridview and have the information in the rows sent to a textbox. It does not append each row to the textbox though, which is what I want it to do. it just replaces it with the row I click on. What's wrong with my code. I have tried cell click too.

I have a program for school project that has input fields for Name, Address, City, State and Zip. I need to error check so that the fields are not empty.I have used If statements that check to see if the fields are empty and shows a message box if they are but if I leave the whole form empty and click the button that activates it, all the if statements go- one by one instead of pausing for the user to input the required data.How do I check for data and make the program stay there until the data is input? I have tried TRY/CATCH but it won't catch this type of error.

Please help, this doesn't seem that difficult, but I can not get it work. On (page2.aspx) the data from the dropdownlists will be passed to a stored procedure and all results will be in a gridview.
