TCPClient - Creating Form Fields To Send Data

I'm using: [URL]. I already have the listener up and running. For the 'client' I'd like to change it to a 'form' program with a text field so i can enter one line of text and then a send button. I know how to drag the field and button over to a form but I'm not sure how to tell the program to use them?

I have a macro run program I have created using excel 2007.The excel version makes use of VBA designed userforms and macro code to run and it stores data within a worksheet.It populates some of the fields in the userforms from drop down boxes whose pre-populated values are stored within another worksheet in the workbook.If I was to create this within vb.net how would the drop down box values be stored? and also: would it be easy to have the userform on-close click event send the data to be stored in an excel workbook ?

i have this code which i am using to display data on fields on form.And if i read from the database and the reader has no rows the ballon tool tip should display from some time indication a message.The problem is anytime i select from the database and the if all reader doesn't have rows only the last message of the ballon shows.the rest doesnt.Please what have i done wrong

I am developing an application on VB2008 with MySql as database. I opened the connection without any errors. I have three fields/columns in my database and on the form. When I am running vb form data is not reflecting on to form fields.
I have written the following code in form load event.

I have a .Net program that has to run on a cluster of server 2008. To find out the right IP I resolve the dns by GetHostEntry(VarDefinedInfConfig).AddressList(0)
but when I am converting my old code (this code picks the wrong IP) dns.GetHostName().AddressList(0) => this returns a virtual IP and not the right one.So I changed my TcpListener to (dns is parameter from config)Dim listener As TcpListener = New TcpListener(New IPEndPoint(Net.Dns.GetHostEntry(dns).AddressList(0), 8001))

I am making a booking system. I am using same form for insertion and updation. How can I update by taking the values from the textboxes. For example if the user enters value for just 2 out of 8 fields then How can i update just 2 fields without affecting the rest of the record. I mean to say that if I use a single update query using all the fields then if some textbox is left empty then it will replace the database field value by null or something else.

I'm trying to create a table in Word using data from a table in Access. There are four fields in the access table that I need. 3 fields are text which I can populate the Word without any issues. However the fourth field is a memo with >255 characters.I'm struggling to come up with the proper code to allow me to populate the Word field with the memo data that has more than 255 characters. I am struggling a lot with this code I am trying to get to work. I have successfully made a connection with the TcpClient object to two separate remote machines and transmitted data to them. Essentially, I'm trying to connect to Machine 1 on port 80 and send a GET request. Once I send the request I want to keep the connection alive so that the software on the other side can send me data when it is ready. How do I keep the connection open and read data in each time it is made available in the stream? I have tried and tried using NetworkStream.Read and BeginRead to no avail. The closest I have come was sleeping my thread every 30 seconds and then doing another GET request which is not needed. Here is the current code I have for reading from the stream. I know I need a loop in here somewhere:Note: RemoteSocket is my TcpClient object that is connected by this point

I'm making program that will copy one file and over-write another to purge data.I have a windows form interface where the files can be selected and want a console application to run this process so it can be put into the PC's startup folder to run on each startup.
The problem is I need to send the file location data to the console app when I choose a save button on the form. Both are part of the same project and referenced but I can't seem to reference any variable from the win form to console app.Also will I see the Console app as a seperate icon in the program files so I can put it on the PC startup?

I designed a form from dragging across tables from data sources. All in all, bindingsources, tableadapters, dataset & tableadaptermanager, I have about 40 objects in the component designer tray.I found out that on a few occasions, Im not able to view the form design because of corruption or something. Sometimes, I even lost a bindingsource object or even a dataset object which caused errors. Has anyone come across such incidents? Is it advisable to have too many objects in the component designer tray?

I am creating a small program which has a few texboxes which i want to saved in a access database.My problem is i have no clue what code belongs to such button.I have added the database to my datasources, and linked the fields from the database to the textboxes.But thats all i got so far,.Being searching around the net for a few days to figure this out, but no luck.in my access db i got the fields firstname, surename, address1, address2, postcode, phone, email.Each are linked to their matching textbox on the form.

I have used VB (versions 2 - 6) through many years; however, I am crash-course training myself into the VB2008 / VB2010 world kicking a screaming. I would like suggestions as to what SQL database access method should I focus more on in my learning process without making me feel that I'm a million years behind. I know I have WinForms where I can create a datasourse and drag / drop fields or tables on a form to create a grid (not really what I'm looking for).
My trouble isn't so much designing the form but in how I access the database. Theres XML, LINQ to SQL, ADO.NET, and many other methods. Not only do I need to grasp these methods quickly but I also need to know what type of projects I should create. What I mean is...I was thinking that I would design a WinForm app; however, I see that there are WPF apps and others to chose from. This is getting deep. I know it depends on the project that I'm working on. My plans are to write an app based off of either an SQL Express 2008 or SQL Server 2008 database. This first app will be standalone for now but may later become multi-user. I know I'm far behind on my learning curve coming from VB6. I have read a bit on VB2005 / 2008 / 2010. I own
both VB2008 and VB2010. I use VB2008 at work. I know ADO.NET is still alive but by what I read online, it's a dying method and is only kept for backward compatibility. XML and LINQ to SQL and other methods are all pretty new to me.

Notice the fields prodno1 and prodno2 in the table structure.. this is part of a number of sql statements i need to run and put inside a loop. my problem is i want to automatically use this same code such that on the next loop, this sql statement is going to be:

Note that in this "2nd loop"
- the table name is now r3 from r2 in the first SQL statement
- there are now prodno1, prodno2 and prodno3 instead of just prodno1 and prodno2
- in the WHERE clause, the p.prodNo becomes p.prodNo2
And so on and so forth.. so for the 3rd loop
- there's going to be r4
- there's going to be prodno4
- in the WHERE clause i will use p.prodNo3

I am working on a project. Part of my project requires me to capture data, for example, email address, from certain rows/columns of a datagridview(form2.vb) and displays them in a textbox on another windows form(form1.vb) with a click of a button(Add Contact button). The problem is the datagridview on my form must be able to display databases by making a connection to Microsoft SQL Server 2005 but so far, i have not been able to do that. I have seen many codes with regards to my problem but i do not know how to implement it.
Below are my codes that i have written so far. My program's limitations are not being able to display databases from Microsoft SQL Server 2005 so i created the statement below to add columns and test my codes.
