Let's say I have two date values, date1 and date2. date1 stores the date today, and date2 is the result when I subtract 7 days from the date today. Is there any function in VB that makes me get the exact date of the day after I subtract 7 days from it? (ex: if today is 1/22, the output once I subtract 7 days from the date today would be 1/15)
I am trying to calculate the exact amount of time in Years, Months and Days between 2 date values. I'm getting stuck on the day calculation. I've returned the # of months and it's value is 8.77. The .77 needs to be rounded to 8 which should give me the days. I'm not exactly sure what MATH function to use to do this.
I need the get a date object that specifies the next 2:00am that will come.
So pretend the time is 14:00 on the 15th, I need the date object to contain 2:00 on the 16th If the time is 1:00 on the 16th, I need the date object to contain 2:00 on the 16th
I need to return the exact difference between two dates in the form of a string. If the dates are 01-FEB-2012 and 01-FEB-2014, the function should return "2 years" If the dates are 01-FEB-2012 and 01-MAR-2014, the function should return "25 months". If the difference is not in exact years or months, it should return the difference in days. I do not want to use DateDiff from the Visual Basic namespace so the code is portable to C#.
I need to calculate the end date given the number of business days (excluding weekend and holidays). All the examples I've seen so far return the number of business days between a start date and an end date.
I am writing an application for my class, wherein I have a mortgage that will give the customer a discount of 1% on their interest if they pay early in the month, or penalize them by 1% if they are after the due date. Right now, I have it working with a checkbox that the user selects. However, I would like to have VB see the current date on the calendar I placed in the application already, and calculate the appropriate amount of interest based on that information. I am using Microsoft 2008 Visual Basic Express Edition on a PC.
I know about DateDiff and TimeSpan. I am doing a project. I save a date in the registry. Now, I have to test this date against today's date and calculate the differences in minutes, hours, days, months, weeks and years.
I save the date in the registry like this: Application.UserAppDataRegistry.SetValue("Date", [Date])
I then made a sub to calculate the differences: Private Sub Calculate() Try Dim DateGen As Date DateGen = CType([Date], Date) Select Case TimePeriod [Code] .....
As you can see, based on the difference between these dates ( today's date and the registry date ), a sub gets called and the program continues. Unfortunately, the minutes and hours never calls the RandomAlpha sub. How can I calculate the difference in minutes, hours etc.????
I am trying to flag rows in a grid in the following order based on a date column
When 2 or more days old from today then RED When 1 day old then YELLOW When 0 days old then GREEN When the date is in the future then BLUE
I have the following which is working fine except for the future dates which are GREEN instead of BLUE.
Dim myDate As DateTime = CType(grdSummaryView.GetRowCellValue(e.RowHandle, "myDate"), DateTime) Select Case Now.Subtract(myDate).Days '2 or more days old then RED FLAG Case Is >= 2
I am teaching myself VB while creating a basic application I can use at work. Is there something in VB that will calculate a past and future date from a specific date. For instance, an Election Date falls on November 2, 2011. Once this election date is entered I want the program to calculate the reporting dates. The first report due is due exactly 32 days prior to the election. The 30 day post is due 30 days after the election.
I changed the date of datetimepicker format to yyyy-mm-dd in custom format...but it displays 2009-00-22...the month part is not showing the month of the exact month..how to change the format of the date?
if i can make my form say what the exact color code for where the mouse is and i can make the mouse hover over and click that color. Kind of like a bot?
I got 2 dtpDateTimePicker1 and dtpDateTimePicker2 with txtStart.Text and txtend.text there showing the ("en-US") "MM . dd. yyyy" and i get the date difference , works fine but i want to use the German ("de-DE") When i chance the format to dtpDateTimePicker2.CustomFormat = "dd / MM / yyyy". its not calculating the days right
Here's the code i am using
Private Sub Vaction_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load ' Creates a CultureInfo for German in Germany.
Dim ci As New CultureInfo("de-DE") Dim dt As DateTime = DateTime. Now
My project, is something that could be used by an opticians (well in theory anyway)I have a customer being selected, eye measurements etc..Then I can enter in data (into textboxes):
TextBox1. Frames Stock: #12345 TextBox2. Material Used: Glass / Plastic TextBox3. UV Filter: Yes / No
I am making a small tool that require some calculation. I am using hashtable to store values that I need to calculate. This tool continuously extract data on specific time interval(30 seconds) from webpage and add those data into the hashtable. Now the problem is I need to store the previous extraction data and when new extraction occurs, I need to deduct the previous data from new data. Here is the process I am currently following:
HTML Dim MyTable as New Hashtable MyTable.Add("Data1","200") MyTable.Add("Data2","100")
[code]....
On first run it shows the result of Data3 = 100 which is currect. But on second run I need to redefine the value of Data2 = Data1 . So I need a result of Data3 = 0 on second run. This may not be the proper way to do this sort of operation. I have also tried using listbox, listview and even textfile to store the Data2 and recall that on second run.
I am trying to make a program that can calculate the percentage of people passing an exam. There are buttons for each letter grade, and working label counters for each time you press a button. Each button looks like this, except replace the letter with the appropriate one.
Private Sub btnA_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnA.Click Static intA As Integer = 0 intA = intA + 1 lblA.Text = intA lblPercent.Text = (lblA.Text + lblB.Text + lblC.Text + lblD.Text) / (lblA.Text + lblB.Text + lblC.Text + lblD.Text + lblF.Text) End Sub
My problem is that the percent does not equal what I get when I put the exact same numbers into a calculator.
how can i make it like IF (todays date is passed a specific date) then basically what i need is to see if the date is passed a static date i set in the vb code.
So i've to write this program whose purpose it this:
Purpose: The user enters the item name and amount of the item purchased. The program calculates the tax for the item and the final total, and then displays these values. Tax on all items will be 7.75%.
And so far i've this code but it's not working:
' Program: Cash Register ' Author: Nidhi Shah ' Date: February 2, 2010 ' Purpose: The Cash Register Window application will ' computer the tax and the final cost of a ' purchased item.
Option Strict On
Public Class frmCashRegister ' Tax per item - used in multiple procedures Const _cdecTaxPerItem As Decimal = 0.0775D
I have an assignment, and one of the requirements are to take a list of colors in an array and determine which letter, of the first letters of every color in the array, appears the most. (Essentially the mode, if converted to numerical values).
Is there anyway to get the exact time. I know 'Now' Commands get the system time but the system time is not exact to real time, is there way of returning a value from a webpage, even using a webbrowser.
Of course, the Graphics.MeasureString method is well-known to have padding problems, and so you use Graphics.MeasureCharacterRanges instead, but as you can see here:It's not measuring quite correctly. Is this a problem with MeasureCharacterRanges or is it my code? How can I fix it? [code]
This program is finished already, and i am using it now, but I want to add progressbar so that i can see the progress running to make it more beautiful
i create an apps which is capable of installing apk file on android phones. QuoteQuote: This is base on ADB command "adb install applcationname.apk"
we can install apk on command prompt using adb install command The scenario of my program is like this: all the command on cmd will appear on my form (This is all OKey) the apk's name is on my listbox1, if I select the items on listbox1, the name of this item will be written on my txtCommandInput (my textbox)
this is my sample codes
Private Sub ListBox1_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles ListBox1.SelectedIndexChanged Dim _items As String = ListBox1.Text
[code]....
if you press the button it will throw the command from txtCommandInput.Text and the result will displayed on cmd, so the "adb install command" will run. all of this thing is working fine, except the progressbar Now im reading this book about progressbar and backgroundworker sad to say i really cannot make it work, that while the installation of this apk the progressbar value is exactly 100% after the installtion finished
how the progress on progressbar will be the exact value and result of this apk installation
In the TableAdapter configuration wizard I am using this query:
Code:
SELECT AttendanceID, StudentID, ClassId, DateOfClass, Absent FROM Attendance WHERE (DateOfClass BETWEEN #5/1/2010# AND #5/30/2010#)
Can tell me the correct syntax to change the #5/1/2010# AND #5/30/2010# so the WHERE clause uses dteStartDate AND dteStartDate which are date variables ?
I tried this but it tells me I need to use the to_date function. dteStartDate is already a date variable so I know my syntax is wrong.
Code:
SELECT AttendanceID, StudentID, ClassId, DateOfClass, Absent FROM Attendance WHERE (DateOfClass BETWEEN #" & dteStartDate & "# AND #" & dteEndDate & "#)
Private Sub btnRPSearch_Click(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnRPSearch.Click Dim currentRecord As String = RprAuthNumTextBox.Text
With the different screen resolutions out there, how do the rulers in WordPad, OpenOffice.org Writer, Microsoft Word, etc. assure exact inches in printing?
i have a panel on a form and i have various controls inside the panel which i then shrink and enable the panels scrollbar so i can scroll through the controls. i am trying to get the exact size of the panel (unshrunk).for example the panel is 500 pixels in width and i then shrink the panel down to 300 pixels and enable the scrollbar. when i try to get the size of the panel using code like
panel1.size.width.tostring
it keeps telling me the panel is 300 pixels long ..which yes it is because i shrunk it down but i want to get the full size of the panel which should be 500.
