I have a webpage I would like to parse but not too sure how to capture the links activated by clicking on links. I have take suggestions about using regex to capture the onclick statements but that does not seem to help since it does not capture anything. Here is an example of what the html contains:
<li><a href="#" onClick="SelGenre('001'); return false;">プライベート</a> (4235)</li>
<li><a href="#" onClick="SelGenre('002'); return false;">なかま</a> (1121)</li>
<li><a href="#" onClick="SelGenre('003'); return false;">ペット</a> (398)</li>
<li><a href="#" onClick="SelGenre('004'); return false;">美容と健康</a> (956)</li>
Now if I capture 'SelGenre' and try and normalize that with the webpages root etc it does not work. Clicking on the link will display other links that I need to capture.I thought it may contain some javascript file but it did not even after trying to use firebug.
I cannot parse "6.56" to double (6.56). All the methods parse it to 656 insted of 6.56[code]...
View 4 RepliesI'm login to the website with WebBrowser1 The source code of the website:[code]
View 4 RepliesI'm using Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition. In the little program I'm creating, I added a WebBrowser and a button that will make the WebBrowser navigate to a designated website when clicked. So far, it's fine.
The problem is that I want to be able to get the value of a variable declared in the website's javascript. How do I do this?
The following is a part of the source code of the website.
<script language="javascript">
var contextPath = "/websmsn";
var noSessionPath = "/websmsn

I want to get the value of "activeMsgSessionId" and store the value in my own variable. The value of "activeMsgSessionId" changes every time the website is loaded.
I'm having a problem declaring a variable and setting it correctly.
BEGIN WORKING CODE:
private sub doSomething
Dim tokenHandle As New IntPtr(0)
Dim dupeTokenHandle As New IntPtr(0)

I'm in a beginner programming logic and technique class that also teaches us VB, and I'm working on a program that is to simulate total theater revenue, that asks for the number of tickets sold in a particular section and then displays the amount of sales generated from that section. It needs to validate that the total number of tickets sold is not over the maximum seating in that section.[code]
1) I have a warning that "Variable 'section' is used before it has been assigned a value. A null reference exception could result at runtime" in line 18.
2) Regardless of the changes I've made, I always end up getting "0" as my end result. I'm actually supposed to use the toString currency format function when getting my end result, but that was mixing me up so I figured I'd at least make sure the output is correct before I fix that part. I thought I was on the cusp of having this working but I think I'm confusing myself more and more the more I mess with it.
dim a as decimal dim b as string = "169.65"
How do i get b into a, without removing the dot ?
I'm using a Microsoft Word form template to create objects in a form programatically, so depending on the information read by the program from the template.
So, I've got some fields where I store formula data for the form, in which I specify that the value for that field is obtained by multiplying other fields in the template. So I store in the string something like this:
"Text1.Text * Text2.Text"
So I need to convert these string values into variable calls to actually operate these values.
I'm trying to use Webbrowser to automate a download on a page with anchors like this one:
<A href="Javascript:downloadBatch('198697193','4372')">
The first number is constant in the sense that it uniquely identifies an archived document. The 2nd number is also a constant, it is simply a process identifier (refers to the download-archived-document process).
I can download it using element.InvokeMember("click") but I have reliability issues with doing so and therefore I want to determine my other options.
I've tried to duplicate every example of InvokeScript and Navigate that I could find on the internet. Nothing seems to work. I usually get the following runtime error (or with some methods i just get silence).
A Runtime Error has occurred. Do you wish to Debug?
Line: 0
Error: Object expected
Does this have something to do with frames? I don't know anything about frames but this page seems to be using them. Although I've had success sending a click to this anchor, I've had trouble at some websites clicking anchors, so I would prefer to learn how to invoke this script more directly.

I have attempted to invoke my vbscript in the webbrowser control using the invokescript function (im using wpf's webbrowser invokescript function but works the same mostly). I'm trying to pass multiple values but for some reason i cant. the problem code section is above and invokescript section is where it errors out.Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth. - "Sherlock holmes" "speak softly and carry a big stick" - theodore roosevelt. If I have a text stored in db, file, resource does not matter:
<code><%= Integer.MaxValue %></code>
Is there a way to do this: Dim el As XElement = XElement.Parse({variable containing text above}) and to have it evaluate the expression Integer.MaxValue?
Part of my project is to retrieve a string variable from an external source (google docs) and parse it. This string represents width and height. I have no problem retrieving, I just need to parse it in to two strings. The string has 4 variations.
Here are examples:
3"x4"
3"hx4"w
3hx4w
3x4
The width is always the first number and the height is always the second. Sometimes, the width and height have decimal points. Any way to parse this into two strings of the numeric values only?
I have a variable that gets a value in a js function. I need to get its value as a double into a vb.net variable. I have tried putting the variable into a label then grabbing it from the label in vb.net as shown in the code below:

I have the following code that I want to return to a variable "t" in javascript:
Code behind:
Public Shared Function GetSomeText() As String

So, how can I make variable "t" get the "result" from Function GetSomeText from code-behind?
Is it posible to get a value from a javascript variable and use it into visual basic code without incrusting value on any control.
View 1 RepliesAs the title states, I have a session variable that is set during a login script with asp.net and vb.net code-behind. Can I call a javascript function when a link is clicked that will destroy that session variable? If it is possible, can I use jQuery to make that process easier?
View 4 RepliesI'm trying to figure out how to edit a javascript variable through the webbrowser. For example, the webbrowser loads a page with a javascript variable in it:
var stop1 = 0; 'That's in the HTML code of the website.
What I want to do is have someway to modify that variable. Just like
stop1 = 1;
How to do this in Visual Basic. Is it possible?

How do I pass a variable difined in .aspx.vb to .aspx. I've tried this in the .aspx.vb:

I am trying to parse a date from a textbox and store it in a date variable
Dim enddt_2 As Date = Date.ParseExact(txtenddt.Text, "dd/MM/yyyy", System.Globalization.DateTimeFormatInfo.InvariantInfo) 'txtenddt.Text
expenddt_1 = enddt_2.AddDays(-1)
enddt = enddt_2.ToString("dd/MM/yyyy")
enddt is a Date variable and when i convert enddt_2 to a string i get the error as
Conversion from string "17/01/2012" to type 'Date' is not valid.
Let me clarify, if a value in textbox is 17/01/2012 than after parsing the value is changed to 01/17/2012 (my systems Region and Language are dd/MM/yyyy) in enddt_2 and when i try to convert to dd/MM/yyyy format and store into a date variable i get the above error. This error comes only for the dates after 12. i.e a date variable accepts a date in MM/dd/yyyy format.The dates before 12 work fine, i.e for all dates from 1 to 12 there is no error.How can i make enddt store the date in dd/MM/yyyy format.
I am getting the error:"Range variable 'sender' hides a variable in an enclosing block or a range variable previously defined in the query expression."for this
Imports System.Data.SqlClient
Imports System.Linq
Public Class Form1

I can select any other item from the table without the error. "sender" has the same properties as "receiver" in the SQL table.
I just want to parse simple expressions like IIF(FVAL(PFC) = TRUE, (IIF((ORGVAL(BAS, "2012/12/31") + ORGVAL(DA)) < 6500, (FVAL(BAS) + FVAL(DA)) * 12%, 780)), 0)`After parsing this I should be able to know what functions contains what parameters.
[Code]...
I'm stuck with .Net Framework 2.0, so no Linq or lambda expression goodies for me. Also I want to include the code in my custom library and not just reference it. Can anyone point me to some good library or code.
I just need to parse and not evaluate the expression and find what tokens are in use. After finding the tokens I need to change the expression string before parsing, like if the function ORGVAL is used then the parameter passed has has to be prefixed by an underscore. Like ORGVAL(BAS) will transform to ORGVAL(_BAS). Some functions can have tow parameters like ORGVAL(BAS, "2012/12/31") and this will transform to ORGVAL(_BAS, "2012/12/31")
NOTE: IF THERE ARE OTHER WAYS OF DOING IT PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I WOULD LOVE TO AVOID A PARSER AND LEXER.
I 'm having no trouble coding, I'm back to my initial printing problems. The program printed Avery labels in a variety of sizes. I created the label templates on 8.5 x 11 forms and then printed the forms. This cannot be done in VB 2008 for a variety of reasons:
1) The form size cannot be larger than the screen size I got around this by creating a new form class that matched my dimensions.
2) printform only does screen shots. This was a major barrier. First of all I can't get printform to print my custom form because it's not a member of system.window.forms.form, it's a class in system.window.forms.usercontrol. However, even if it was in the correct class, it wouldn't work correctly because printform in VB.net, does a screen capture of the form and then reduces the image on the printout.
So that is my dilema. I do not know how to use the reporting tool, but I can see that it must be binded to a database. Although my application does use a database, I want to be able to massage the data before printing it. And the application does more than just print labels. There are also custom reports that need to be printed.
I'm building an application that outputs a list of usernames to an HTML document. I'm using this to generate a string:
For y As Int16 = 0 To intBuddyList - 1
strBuddyListHTML = strBuddyListHTML & strBuddyList(y) & "<br />"
Next
The resulting string is then put into an HTML document. The problem is, when I load the document, the brackets are displayed literally. When I view the source, I see this:
buddy1<br />buddy2<br />buddy3<br />buddy4<br />tbuddy5<br />tbuddy6<br />
Is there a way to preserve the brackets in the HTML tags?
