i have an application that used for entering some modification on images but what i want is that when somebody open any image using right click then "open with" and choose my application program then the image translated to the picturebox in my program so i need to know the code of the image path?

I have created a windows application which creates a database file and saves it to disk, it uses a custom file extension so that when the file is clicked it opens the application. In order for the application to use the data in the file it needs to rename the file so that it has a .mdb extension. My problem is that I cannot see how to get the name of the file which opens the application.

The fact is I'm making an application, which users can install by using a Setup file...once installed the data in the database can be updated by a centralized server. To do this, they can insert a DVD/CD-ROM and export the necessary data towards it. I need to do it that way, because some of the users who really need this data will be using stand alone computers.The application gets it's data from a mdb-file and the connection remains open as long a person works with the application (maybe not the best way to do, but I know :-) )...when the user uses the application, he can perform an export...this exports the .ini-file and pictures (which works fine), but he also needs to export the mdb behind the application...I already tried connection.close() before and connection.open() after the System.IO.File.Copy...but that doesn't seems to work.

When I use "C:UsersGeoffrey van WykDocumentsCountdown_Timer_Help.rtf" as the argument of FileName, it works. But when I use My.Resources.Countdown_Timer_Help, it says it cannot find the file.

Well, the path of the .zip file has spaces in it and it's not recongizing the path as a valid path. Is there a another way to tackle this problem besides the shell?I can't us pkzip either. I'm trying to find an easy way (there must be one) to quickly retrieve from the registry the application file name and path to use in a Shell command to open a particular file. Specifically, I want the user in my app to be able to click on a PDF file and have the app open that PDF file using the application associated with PDF file types - Acrobat Reader, for example. Anyone have any suggestions as to proper coding & syntax for the following sequence?:

I wrote an application which parses a website and downloads an mp4 file from website. User can select the path where he wants to download the video. When I try to download I get an exception for the file, Access Denied to Path. When I gave the permissions to folder that I chose, then works fine. How can I resolve that problem? I'm developing an application in vb.net. You drag any type of file onto the exe, and a window pops up with some options for the file, then it saves the file to a different location, works some SQL magic, etc. It works great for the most part. The only issue I've found is that if the path of the file contains any spaces, the application will crash immediately with the error window:[URl]..I'm using: Private filename as String = Command$ This is located right inside my form's class declaration, not within a sub/function.Without this line, my program runs fine (although useless, without accessing the file).I've also tried (I think this was it, I don't have the code with me at the moment): Private filename as String = Environment.CommandLine So, in vb.net, is there a way to drag a file onto an exe and use that path name, even if there are spaces in the path name?

I've had the idea of using 2 forms, one of which is the proper application and the other which just checks if its running then opens the other form.I would imagine it would check if there's more than 1 of the process name running and if there is close all others?
