Jun 19, 2009I want the background of my form to be the same color as the window frame color that the user selects, even if that changes. I selected System->WindowFrame as my background color, but it always remains a dark grey, regardless of what I have my window color set to. How else would I achieve what I want? I assumed I was doing it the correct way. Do I actually need code that gets the system window color and then apply it?

The problem is that I don't understand how to apply the "A Completely OwnerDraw TabControl" to my project, my knowledge isn't so far yet. Is there any way I can achieve the same results using something simplier? Or if not, could someone explain to me how to apply it without making any mistakes?
VS 2008 Restoring DataGridView Cell Background Color?
Sep 8, 2010I have a DGV where I'm setting the backcolor of certain cells to light gray. But I need to be able to restore the backcolor to what it was before I changed it to gray. I could just set it to transparent, but the problem with that is that I use an alternating row color of alice blue for the DGV & setting a cell in a blue row to transparent makes it white. So, in summary, I need to be able to restore white rows to white & blue rows to blue. Any ideas? I thought about checking the backcolor of another column in the row & then using that to reset the cell, but that seems kind of a hack.

Apr 6, 2009i had designed a form with various controls added some days ago. Accordingly i had coded the controls. And today i didnt like the look and feel of the form, so i copied the controls for a while and then re-pasted it over a new control (panel). Now when i double click to see the underlying code of the control generates a new event. I mean i had a button as Button1 and its underlying code was under the Button1_Click event. But now its is like Button1_Click_1 which i dont understand. Is it due to formation of control array or what? I want the button to be remapped to Button1_Click event.

Feb 19, 2011what I am trying to accomplish worked with the code in the last thread I posted a while back. I still am using this code, however, I changed the window size to work better and gave it a nicer background for the title screen of my project. Now what I am working on at the moment is making a settings form that has 2 labels. One for "Default" Layout and one for "Plain" layout. When default is at start, the default label is disabled,and when plain layout is clicked, the button is disabled and default button is enabled.Basically, this is a toggle switch for default or plain where if one is enabled, the option for it is disabled and the other is enabled.My problem is that when I switch from Plain back to default, the background Image will not switch back from the plain background color of "control"Here is my code:

Class Properties Not Reflecting Their Changed Values
Nov 14, 2010I am using a class to track if a user cleared their personal information found within some text boxes on a form. In the button click event to clear the text boxes I am creating a new object to the class and assigning true to one property value. Sounds simple until I try and submit the form with a different button, and create a another object reference that I use in an IF statement to check the property value for true. Every time the statement fails because the value being returned from the getter in my class is false.

Label Not Showing Up When Properties Changed To Visable?
Apr 17, 2012in my program I have a section that is outlined as listed below - in the page load, the label's visibility is set to false.
lblLoading.visable = true
lblloading.text = "loading please wait"
UpdateData()
lblloading.text = "Loading Complete"
It takes about a minute or 2 to run updatedata as it is doing multiple things to a database - when I execute this code, it stalls and loads the data, then when done I do get my label that says loading complete, but I never see the label before it is done loading to tell the user that it is processing. Is there any way to force it to show before UpdateData() is called so that it shows during the load time?

VB 2008 during a compile gave me the following error: Error reading icon 'C:Usersxxxxxx x xxxxxAppDataRoamingMicrosoftVBExpress9.0VSProjectApplication.ico' -- The system cannot find the path specified.
The file "VSProjectApplication.ico" is in 'C:UsersDennisAppDataRoamingMicrosoftVBExpress9.0'
Somewhere in the VB2008 "configuration" files I believe that I need to manually change the old path to the new path.
I found the old path in the ".suo" file. The ".suo" file is not a text file. How can I edit the .suo file, save it so that it will work?
