VS 2008 - Taking Information From SQL Two Table Statement

I got a table related to another table by orderref. I need to know what should be my SQL adapter command if I need to take some information from one table and some from another where orderref = "" or should I be making two separate SQLs?
I used to have this when I had only one table:
myStr = "select * from orders where Orderref='" + txtorderref.Text + "'"

I am working on a front-end application program and cannot figure out what is giving me this error. The program is accessing an Access Database and filling a text box on the form. The error i keep receiving is "Index out of range", "No row at position 0". I have a login form that consists of 2 text boxes: txtUser, txtPass. Now these are not bound to any data table & I don't what them to be bound. When a new user enters his user name & password, I want to add these on a data table that has two columns: User, Pass. Data table information: Data Source = Login.accdb, Data table = LoginTable, Connection = LoginCn. I use visual basic 2010. So how do I do this?

I am developing a game and I want an options window to be used so that the user enters data into this and it carries to the main window instead of being lost. I tried it with my recent program , guess the color , but it did not work the way I thought. I thought that I could assign it to a string in a textbox to a variable and it would carry into the main window...
I want this to happen:
The user begins the program by clicking shortcut
User clicks options in the toolbar
A new window comes onto the screen
In this window the user will select a map size then click ok the verify , radiobuttons used in this example...
Back to the main screen after clicking ok
User clicks new on toolbar to begin game
Game is then playing...
Form1 <<< Form 2
game screen 3x3 button
end turn
Form 1
New game is begun
form 2 appears
3x3 button is pressed*
variable is used to change map (there is only one map for now)*
form2 closes and form1 shows
End turn is clicked

I am wondering how I can select and pull specific bits of data from a block of information a user pastes into a textbox. For example, the information has fixed words and is always in the same format, but the numbers relating to the words may be different. One report might say, for example, Cars: 1.176 and another may say Cars: 863. How do I pull the information about the "cars" from a the block of text with the number value even though it can be different each time?
I must note that there are many many of these scattered throughout the average report and I need to pull the values of each of them in a single click, then paste those values into a different area on the form.

I have looked all over the web for a way to set up a VB 2008 combobox but what I have seen makes me shudder! I want to , as In Access VBA, set the recordsource/datasource for the combobox i.e. the list shown in the combobox, to the values of another table (currency) and then when the user selects one of these values to store it in the (already) bound field of the combobox (to another table). In Access of course there was a wizard for this sort of thing, but in VB 2008 looks like it is just lots of code.

Is there a way to use ReadAllLines to read in a text file that contains some Chr(10) (linefeeds) but uses ONLY the Chr(13) (carriage return) as the true end-of-line?What I mean is, DON'T treat a Chr(10) as the EOL. ONLY treat a Chr(13) as the EOL.Obviously I could just read in the whole file as binary and then split it into lines by scanning for Chr(13), but I just wondered whether or not there's a setting in VB.NET to set the EOL character so I didn't have to do that.

I have wrote a program that uses sendmessage to automate clicks. I have also made it where it can minimize to tray, hides form & shows an icon in tray. The problem is that when it's minimized it takes focus from whatever else I'm doing, like if I'm typing in Notepad when the program sends the message it takes the focus from notepad.

I am trying to simulate human temperature taking. Basic i just need a button, a text box , a progress bar and a timer.What I want to do is that when the button is clicked, the progress bar will slowly increment and after it reaches maximum, a random number in the range 35-40 will be generated in the text box.Now so far, this is what I`ve done:

So the progress bar is working fine. The random number generator too. But here are my problems:
1-Once the button is click, the number is generated. I would like that to happen after the progress bar reaches maximum.
2-So this is suppose to be a temperature gadget for kids and therefore when a certain amount of temperature is reached...an alarm is sent to the parents. How do I generate a dialog box (to acknowledge an alarm was sent) in case the temperature exceeds say 38? The dialog box should close after some 5 seconds. If possible, in case of such excess, the button color should turn to red or otherwise(no excess) blue.

I am working on a program where the user inputs values, then the program calculates those values and outputs the sum. When the user hits the button exit then those values entered by the user are saved. When the user starts the program again, the values are still there. I wrote the code and everything works fine. I am saving those values in notepad... and the program grabs the input in notepad and outputs those values to the program. But here comes the problem: Lets say the user wants the information in a certain column to be added to another column somewhere in the program. Is that possible ? And if it is can it be done when I am saving those values in notepad?

I am using oracle and trying to create a datagridview but when i try to create the dataset i get the error "could not retrieve schema information for table or view" stating my database and table name. I am using the Oracle client not the OLEDB as i have always used that and had no problems. I am using Oracle 11g.

When I use a command such as:

I am going out to the database, gathering the requested information and filling the dataset. Therefore, everytime I add a query to a table adapter, it is also going to the database to get the information. So, my question is, how do I fill a table in a data set with all the records in the database table and then, filter the information I've already collected in the dataset without going back out to the database again?

I have a form which is bound to a table that includes information about properties (real estate). Each property can have a number of inspections. These inspections are included in a separate table.
I want to use the form to show the property information and a data repeater to show all the inspections for that property.I can't seem to get the data repeater to bind to the inspection table and pull only those records related to the property information table. In fact, the data repeater shows nothing.
I can get a data repeater to show all the records in the inspection table when I put the control on its own form, for testing purposes.

my program is "live" and my customer has troubles because it doesn't functioning as well as it should.I don't know what happen, did I changed something or not but suddenly data won't save to database from newly created forms. Beside this form I have additional 20 forms and everything is working like a charm and I use same code logic to save data to database. I tried to find myself what could be the reason, check by entering data directly to database table (works fine), check insert statement of dataset table (seems fine, too) and everything I could imagine. But now I ran out of ideas and I had to ask here.
Also, I added 3 fields to database table (nvarchar, int and decimal). All 3 of them allow nulls. I changed dataset and data entry form and now data won't insert if I dont enter values to int and decimal fields. Also, this decimal field doesn't accept 0 value if enter but if I assign value 0 from the code than it is ok. I'm not sure if I somehow changed concurrency and somewhere. I tried to find where I can change it but I couldn't find it. I use Visual Studio 2008 and Sql Server 2005 Express. Language vb.net.

I am trying to input specific information on a form.I have created an sql statement from a table that will out put 18 rows of data.I have opened a recordset and instituted a do until loop.I need for the program to look at each row and if the Standard Score = the value of a field I have on the form it takes the value of the other three columns in updates it on the form.I have created the code and it works for upto 3 (Do Until loops)records, but when I try to add a 4th in the SQL statement and put in another do loop my computer runs it but it acts as if it freezes up. And it works.... but in VS it doesn't.
